VJ to New England doesn't make sense. Moss wanted to get paid. So does VJ. Why get rid of Moss (who is way better) to get VJ??

So who's their best deep pass WR now? Did Welker suddenly grow 6 inches overnight or something?

true, but they also won 3 superbowls in that time frame and nothing since moss. granted they went 18-1 but 14-2, 12-4 still gets you to the playoffs. i also agree that their defense was much better then but they still lost 31-0 going into Buffalo for the first game.. i mean really, that defense that was so good.. and.... buffalo?

I know Moss was going to leave after this season but now they have no number one. This is almost like they just conceded the division to the Jets.

Fixed that for you. The Pats will roll with Brandon Tate opposite Welker.

I’m glad that New England only got a third round pick. Spielman is pretty undisciplined when it comes to trading. Reference the manner in which Vernon Carey was drafted. I’m sure Belichick could have gotten Percy Harvin tossed in if he waited a couple of days. Thankfully he didn’t.

I find it amusing how our loss to the Pats is "proof" the Patriots have no need for Moss. Yeah ok, like they are gonna get 2 ST touchdowns, a blocked punt deep in enemy territory and 3 INTs, one for a TD every game. Please.

This move makes no sense. I honestly get the sense that Bellicheat feels he can dispense with anyone and keep on rolling. It's been a few years since the Pats won the Super Bowl, and now they don't have the cameras rolling to help expose enemy D's. Strange strange move - BB's egotism and Kraft's cheap ***.

They will not draft a QB who won't see the field for a long time. Tom Brady just said he got to the half point of his career.

Your reasoning behind this is what? Brady’s contract has a finite length. The sooner the Patriots are prepared to move on from him, the better off they’ll be. They’re called quarterbacks of the future for a reason.

Tom Brady also lets his wife decide his hair style. Big deal. He’s not going to pull a Favre.

Tom Brady will be a Patriot for the next 5 years, at least. I honestly won't mind if they draft a QB in the 1st round.

Brady’s contract runs through 2014. That gives them 4 seasons to develop quarterbacks behind him to take over when he’s done.

They have 8 picks in the first four rounds of the 2011 draft, and there will be some good quarterbacks to pick from. They could do worse than to draft one now. I hope they neglect the position entirely and just trot out Brady’s corpse through 2020, but they won’t.

The writing was on the wall for Moss after the win over Cincy. The press conference was not positive at all but a rant. He didn't even talk about the game. Once it turned into a me-fest they wanted to get rid of him. As long as he was playing nice he was wanted but things changed.

    Here is that presser.

Not really, from what I see. Luck, if he comes out, is unquestionably the best but NE has a zero chance of getting him. Locker is a question mark as a prospect IMO. Ponder is a pretty good prospect. Mallett is not IMO.

That's why I'm hoping the Lions get the 1st pick (I don't think they will)...since they drafted a franchise QB already, it would make it interesting.
