There is NO quote. Only Mort who despite his supposed ties to Parcells has been deeply wrong each and everytime about Miami since Parcells got here. You guys keep falling for it to. Know what...I got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell for a steal!
Henne won't get benched. He's the future of this team and his development from this time last year is there for all to see. The 'argument' for benching him is nonsensical.
I am sorry but two of those INT's could have been and probably were miscommunications by Marshall. Running behind the defender when Henne expected a cut earlier. Stopping on that crossing pattern when Henne thought he was going to keep going. Goes back to Marshalls missed time in pre season and it will take time to get it right. I am not worried YET......
Steve Young in his first two years in the league... Year 1: 52%, 3 TDs, 8 INTs, 6.8 y/a Year 2: 58%, 8 TDs, 13 INTs, 6.3 y/a Wow, the Niners never should have picked him up from Tampa, huh? For the love of all that's holy, please stop.
Joe Montana's last two years with Kansas City: 1993: 11 games, 61%, 13 TDs, 7 INTs, 7.2 y/a 1994: 14 games, 61%, 16 TDs, 9 INTs, 6.7 y/a Guess KC had a good system too huh? A good QB is a good QB.
Peyton Manning 26TD 28 INT 56.7% Comp Troy Aikmen 9TD 18 INT 52.9% Comp Jim Kelly 14TD 19INT 58.6% Comp Want more?
Wow...are you that short sighted? Holy ****. If you went back to the first years of these hall of famers and compared them to the greats that came before THEM, you'd say the same thing. The point is, give him the same benefit of the doubt these guys had.
The point people are trying to make, is not that he's going to be a hall of famer. It's that these Hall of Famers did just as badly if not worse than Henne in some respects in his first two years. People are just pissed because Sanchez is on a hot streak, and Henne had a bad game. Get over it, Sanchez has a better supporting cast, most of which will not be here next year.
By the way, what the hell is going on in that animated gif in your signature? Sorry, I'm sure you've already explained a million times.
so let me get this straight, you say Mort is a liar: 1) why hasn't someone called him out on a statement as volatile as this one? when the Tuna speaks, people listen. this is a very big deal. 2) why hasn't Parcells made a public statement correcting this alleged, venomous mis-quote: "Henne is a disappointment" certainly, no one puts words in Bill Parcells mouth & gets away with it. he's aware of the damage the statement made, the man's no fool. if he had second thoughts about his words, he could have corrected or softened his statement. instead, he chose to let it stand. obviously, Mort is not a liar. 3) excuses, spins, wishful thinking... it is what it is: Parcells said what he had to say w/o remorse or qualification in typical parcellian fashion. "Henne is a disappointment." . seems to me you bought the Brooklyn Bridge, along with the Cult of the Second-Coming of Marino
Sparano responded to it and said that Henne IS OUR QB. Is that not enough? Our organization has more class than to lower themselves to the likes of Mort.
Friend ToddsPhins: Parcells said nothing, nor did he correct or deny anything. Sparano did what damage control he could without evoking the name or statement made by Bill Parcells. personally, I agree with Parcells: "Henne is a disappointment." nobody puts words in Bill Parcells mouth, not Mort, not Sparano. what we have here is damage control, spin, it is what it is... no Coach Sparano, it is not enough :
How exactly is Henne a disappointment? Is it cause he doesn't have a perfect QBR on the season? Is it cause he hasn't played defense and special teams to get us to 4-0? Or is it because he's shown really nice progress since last year, and is in the top ten for ypa and QBR? Maybe it's cause he has a positive td-pick ratio. Maybe it's cause he's playing as well as guys like Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Brett Favre, etc.
