Thursday afternoon practice report http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/2010/10/thursday-afternoon-practice-report.html
Armando reported in the comments that he's working off on his own, not practicing but on a side of the field.
# Dolphins ILBer Channing Crowder, who has been sidelined 7 weeks with a troublesome groin, continues to practice with team. OT Jake Long is sitting out another practice, likely because of a sore knee. Probably getting the week off. Well deserved. The Dolphins have added NT Chris Baker to their practice squad. Baker teamed with Kendall Langford at Hampton. http://twitter.com/OmarKelly
Good to hear on Jerry's status. Not so good to hear on Long's status. Get well soon. Hopefully it's just time off. Crowder, meh. Although we can't possibly do any worse than we do with Dobbins lately. Wait, Chris Baker, the guy we let go ealier?
This Crowder thing is ridiculous at this point. He's been practicing for like three weeks now and yet he can't get a doctor to clear him? And at the same time, doctors won't say that he needs surgery? Do they expect him to basically hang up his cleats for the rest of his life because he'll never be cleared to play and he'll never be cleared to have surgery?
Well, he has seen more than one doctor, and if they all say he can't play, I would have to think the team has to put him on IR. The best thing in hindsight would have been the pup list.
Any tweets on how many picks Henne threw? The Crowder thing is really bothering me. What the heck is going on?

Not necessarily. The Lions nearly beat the Packers. Green Bay is not unassailable. They aren’t the 2007 Patriots or the 2006 Colts. That said, getting Jerry and Odrick back will help tremendously just with our line rotations. McDaniel, too.
hell they're not even the 2009 packers. that team is one of the most overrated teams going right now. weak secondary, weak offensive line, no running game. to me they're the 2008 or 2007 saints
Their secondary is pretty good, I think. Charles Woodson is the best CB in football and Nick Collins is a damn good safety. But yeah, losing Ryan Grant and a mediocre OL doesn’t help them. But hey, the Steelers haven’t had a great rushing attack or OL in years and they’ve won two Super Bowls. I think the big difference between the 2010 Packers and 2009 Packers is turnover differential.
Thats true, but the Packers defense is by no means going to hold teams to 15 ppg. They can't win games in the 4th quarter. If they win games, they do it in the 1st quarter. They can't hold a lead, and by the end of the game, they're cooked. The Packers are not a physical team at all.
charlie peprah at ss and tramon williams at the cb spot with brandon underwood, sam shields and derrick martin providing nickel and dime and depth
Agreed, but I’m including Al Harris and Atari Bigby in my assessment. They come off PUP after week 6, which is thankfully after we play them.
There's a lot more to it than that.. Working with the ortho doctors sometimes it's not that cut and dry.. If they are saying he doesnt need surgery that's a really good sign bit he still may have ligament or muscle damage that he is trying to recover.. You can never rush it with these things because improper care can lead to a back to back injury and sometimes lifetime impairment.. Besides, you know I'm a homer for Crowder so I'm happy they aren't rushing him.. Not like Dobbins is doing better anyways :P
There is one thing I don't like about Nick Collins - he's a bonehead. He makes big plays but he also does so many stupid things. I think you can exploit him in soem situations.
