there wasnt one, I always post links, but that was on rotoworld, and it was reported by Mort.....

"Mike Sims-Walker could be on the trading block, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen."

thats why I wrote supposedly......Mort is speculating here, but I bet for a decent pick they would unload him....what would you give for him...??

    I'd give up a 4th in a heartbeat w/o even blinking...

Would think about a 3rd after proper medical evaluation, since he does have an history of injuries. But I'm not sure I see a better WR in Rd 3...

Honestly try to trade Ronnie Brown now.
It won't be the popular idea but you have to move on.
Time to draft a running back anyway.

What good will it do by trading Ronnie Brown? Ricky Williams can't be the featured back.

Sims-Walker is probably the most inconsistent WR in the NFL. No thanks.

He's inconsistent because of his QB and if they barely throw the ball his way there's nothing he could do.

Citing the actual construction of the team is wrong? Come on.

Anyway, I’m with CK. I’d love to have MSW here if at all possible. I just don’t know if the front office believes he’ll fit in.

That was spent already for Nolan Carroll.

Was not even thinking you had to or should have. I was just making a point to him that I did not know, nor did we that it was true for sure.

    Saying
is citing the actual constuction of the team?

What the team does is they like to run but have shown they're more than willing to pass but it resulted in 2 straight losses. My bet would be if they could get the chance to upgrade their Wr corps, they'd do it in a heartbeat.

I mean constructing a team is all about getting the best players at each position, including backups right?

We don't use Ronnie as a feature back anyway. Why not get something for him. A big stud receiver and a possible pick sound about right to me. Ronnie will want more than his value when the season is over. He will be told to test the market and we will lose him anyway.

I can't believe the Jags would let him go for just a "late round pick"...

i dont think his value is too high right now to make us trading him profitable.... we will probably get the same trading him now as if we keep him the rest of the season and let him walk and we get a compensation pick for him... so makes no scense in trading him now

Sure it makes sense. If you can get a player that helps your team win now without giving up a draft pick in return for Ronnie who will more than likely walk anyways at the end of the season then why wouldn't you do that. Not saying it is going to happen but I think we need to find a way to move Brown before the deadline and this could possibly be one of those opportunities.

Sims-Walker for a late round pick makes sense. His history at UCF showed that he formed a good tandem with Marshall. I like Hartline's potential, but he certainly hasn't established himself enough to make anybody feel we have the deep threat role opposite Marshall filled. That includes the coaching staff who has been looking at late round guys and UDFAs that can potentially fill that role at the end of the roster. Adding Sims-Walker for a late round pick fits that strategy as it is only a slightly higher cost and the potential reward is much higher.

I don't see the sense in trading Brown now. He is clearly our best back. If we keep him for the balance of the season, we not only get his services now, but we also can try to sign him to a long term deal. The idea that he will want a big deal is nothing more than speculation at this point. Even if we can't sign him b/c he's offered a big deal elsewhere and are moving on he will likely net us a 3rd or 4th in compensation which is comparable to what we might be able to get now anyways.

Personally, I'm getting rid of Moore or Wallace, no way in hell I get rid of Hartline with those two hanging around.

I don't notice the Packers complaining about the fact that their 3rd and 4th WR's are better than the opponents CB's.

Wallace is a monster waiting to be let loose. And a ST ace. I think I'd go with Moore leaving.

They're are 4 games into the season. They're still only 2-2 (which really is not that bad this year at this time). Ronnie is still coming off a season ending injury. They're are supposed to re-emphasize the running game. Ricky really hasn't shown much this season, except that he seems to have fumblitis. I don't think they'll get fair value for the potential hole they'll open up by trading him right now.

what player are we gonna get that would help us more than ronnie? Without ronnie, ricky would wear down fast.

I don't know about that. I'd say its a possibility, but he certainly proved me wrong after Ronnie went down last season. I didn't think he'd still be able to carry the workload, but he held his own. Definitely would have been better with the two of them, but it certainly was passable.
