Damn, It's great being a Phillies fan. :tongue2:

Watch Cliff Lee sign with the Phillies next year, just to give the middle finger to the Yankees.....they will be so upset in NYC when Lee takes less money to join Halladay, Oswalt and Hamels in the sickest lineup ever.

kind of upset that texas and tampa are going to 5. i wouldve preferred 4. the yaankees benefit by getting mor rest but it might hurt them as its turned into a very long rest and they may not be as sharp as they need to be first couple of games

Never happening...the Yanks will outbid Philly because they have too....Andy will most likely retire, and they almost gave up their number 1 prospect in Monterio for him in a trade....the Yanks wants Lee bad..

I dont think the Yanks make it past the ALCS....believe it or not I believe they have a shot against Texas...not against TB though...TB has their number this year....

however Prez, IF Texas wins, that means Lee had to pitch an extra game not against them, and they dont face him in Game 1 either....against a rested and raring to go CC......

It wouldn't matter if the TB/Texas series went 3, 4 or 5 games. The ALCS start date is set in stone. If anything it gives the Yankees an advantage since Lee or Price wouldn't start Game 1 in the ALCS.

The WS will be Philly and NY. So basically the worst case scenario for everybody outside of those two fanbases. With every Brooks Conrad fielding error I'm losing more and more interest in this postseason.

San Francisco Giants vs New York Yankees in an epic showdown of two original NY teams. SF wins in 7.

I agree it would be throwback....Giants in 7, with their lack of hitting??....Although you are probably right, the Yankees have a way of making pitchers they havent seen before look like Cy Young...

yeah it would be cool. we won our first ever world series over the giants in 1923. the rest as they say is history. you beat us last in 1921 and 1922. we are 5-2 against you

It’s still looking like a Yankees/Philthies rematch, though. Sadly.

Not so fast Cheetoh breath....according to my sources:

Cliff Lee has work to do this month before he hits free agency, but aside from the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees, who are each expected to make serious offers for the left-hander's services for the next several years, there could be one more possibility in the Philadelphia Phillies.

At first glance it appears the Phils are stacked in the starting rotation with a few needs elsewhere that figures to slurp up their available financial resources, which may not be much to begin with as they already have more than $130 million committed to next year's roster.

But GM Ruben Amaro could move Joe Blanton's contract, which would cut as much as $10.5 million from their payroll in 2011 and 2012, and finding a taker for Raul Ibanez and his $12 million-ish salary may be difficult but not impossible. And Brad Lidge's money isn't exactly immovable, either.

Rumor Central has learned that, in a vacuum, Lee may prefer Philly over Texas, New York or any other city, and it may not necessarily take the most money to get him to sign long term.

I'm thinking Rangers vs Giants. SF Giants winning it's first ever WS.

yup 5-12. the 6th most successful franchise in baseball history. One more world series championship would move you up to 5th tied with the Dodgers

If the Yankees want Cliff Lee no one is going to out bid them. So everything else is a moot point really.

This is what I'm predicting also. I think they will have a bigger audience if two new teams play instead of NY vs Phil.

The Rangers/Giants is MLB's worst nightmare ratings wise...
