It is most definitely real. Marvel sold the rights to a company in Japan to expand the popularity. However the contract didn't specify they had to keep everything the same, so they took Spiderman and Japanesed it. All those types of shows over there include weird monsters and robots so no wonder it looks like MM Powerangers which was adapted from a Japanese show.
