Yeah Gonzales biggest feud was with the Undertaker and he's the only guy that the Taker never pinned or made submit at a WM. I remember when he first debuted at the Rumble in 93 and I was scared crapless due to the size of the guy. Obviously a lot of times in wrestling they lie about height/weight but Gonzales was really 7'7 and made UT look like a dwarf. Whoever green lit the fur suit for him was obviously an idiot, I mean come on.

Bought the Jericho DVD today. Pretty solid documentary (about an hour and 45 minutes in length). The promos and videos, of course, are golden (I was lol'ing at the 1004 holds shtick ... "ArmBAR!") Haven't gotten into the matches yet, and I'm sure a lot of his stuff will be missing (the Benoit stuff is obviously MIA, and that was a big portion of his career, particularly his WWE run. He goes from his debut to heavyweight champ quickly, and then his entire run with Benoit is completely absent).

Really though, the DVD highlights how WCW mismanaged the guy. Just basic stuff, like talking over him during promos, going to commercial while he is talking, etc. And then there's the whole Goldberg angle, which was huge. Interesting to here Bischoff basically admit that he made the wrong call letting Goldberg nix the whole thing.

Overall it's solid. Looking forward to the rest of the discs.

What about Paul Bearer turning on The Undertaker for the hundredth time? I can't believe Kane is still the champion, yet the WWE buried CM Punk and Jack Swagger when they had the title.

At least with the Cena thing it will give him something new to do for the time being. The guy needs a heel turn in the worst way but is just a gold mine in the merchandise department with kids.

I got the Jericho DVD set yesterday and looking forward to watching it tomorrow. It is a shame the Benoit stuff is cut out but I can understand why. But it almost leaves a big hole in the DVD, because like you said the Benoit stuff was a big part of Jericho's early WWE career. But hey I'm just happy the guy finally got a DVD set, he's only been with the company for 11 years now, minus the time he took off.

Yeah it was pretty obvious. If someone told me back in 1997/1998 that in 2010 we'd still be watching an Undertaker/Kane feud I would have bet anything against it, especially them fighting over the world title with Paul Bearer involved.

well I checked out Bound for Glory and overall it was a good show. Hogan got what he has been wanting as he got the famous showering of trash to the ring again to end the show. Hogan formed some sort of faction with Hardy(super face) Jarret Bishoff and Abyss.

Meh, read the results of the TNA ppv. I love how TNA put Nash over when he left the company later that night because they couldn't work out a new deal. The Hardy turn would have more impact if Jeff wasn't awful on the mike and his style didn't scream face. Maybe with Bischoff and Hogan as his mouthpiece it might help a litttle but I bet this doesn't go over well. It will probably spike ratings the next few weeks but I bet by November it won't matter. But hey this 'major event' was big enough in Matt Hardy's mind to try and get himself fired by the WWE so he could share this moment with Jeff. I guess he forgot Jeff was multiple time WWE champion and the TNA title is about as important as the WWE Diva title.

But hey at least TNA is bringing in J-Woww from the Jersey Shore for a few guest spots.

Is anyone else following the Matt Hardy twitter/youtube video stuff? I must admit that it is pretty entertaining and interesting, even if I think he's coming off looking like a baby in all of this.

The WWE might as well just let him go so he can stop complaining about them since once they let him go he won't get the attention anymore. Sure him showing up on TNA the first time will get a big pop but after about a month no one will care about him anymore. Sure TNA will make money off the Hardy name with t-shirts, figures etc but it won't do anything to help their ratings long term. If Hardy really wants to get released by the WWE that badly, I don't understand why he just doesn't pull a Carlito can fail a wellness test on purpose.

yeah, the Hogan/Bishoff/Hardy swerve was a yawner. no long term ratings spike to come from it, i agree.

but sadly, the whole industry is a yawner right now. with the exception of the Beautiful People's ring entrance. that never gets old. :)

I mean how is Jeff Hardy's heel turn a big deal? This isn't Hogan joining the nWo here or Savage punching out Hogan or even Michaels throwing Jannetty threw the Barber Shop window. It will be interesting to see what the rating actually is. My guess is it will be up .2 max. I think more people will tune in to see J-Woww sadly enough.

I think "THEY" was supposed to include Matt Hardy...and possibly their boys Shannon and Helms. My theory isthat Matt was trying to get released in time for Bound For Glory so that he could help his bro win the championship and both would turn heel.

The only evidence I have of this is Matt's push to be released and an interview with Hulk Hogan where he said if he could have anyone right now, he would pick Matt Hardy since he gets the business. WWE probably realized what was going on and decided to send Matt home, let him do his little videos but keep him employed so that TNA had to change plans.

What you get was a very basic and bland NWO re-boot, essentially. Not that Matt's involvement would have been THAT much better, but it would have been more interesting overall. I think Matt will be released sooner, rather than later, but probably closer to Christmas. Which I am sure Matt will spin as another slap to his fat face.

And now suddenly Matt Hardy isn't interesting again. Word is the WWE got pissed Matt posted a youtube video of Rey Mysterio without his mask and that lead them to speeding up his release. I personally think Matt handled everything piss poor and acted like an immature baby. But hey he got what he wanted. Hopefully he really thought things through because I'd be shocked if he ever was brought back into the WWE again. It will be interesting to see just how much of a press Hardy will get in TNA.

I agree completely. Hardy's videos he made trying to get himself fired was a very unprofessional ploy. It's time for him to sink or swim now since his "handcuffs" are off. Seriously the way the guy promotes himself, you would think WWE just released a top main eventer. The WWE will go on without him and I too doubt they bring him back nor should they after the way he acted. Sure if he wanted out maybe he could have gone a better way than to pull the youtube stunt. Seems at times the guy was going out of the way to promote TNA while still under WWE contract.

Anybody who read my posts in this thread knows that I believe that Matt Hardy should have gotten a little more than he got. Especially after his run as US Champion and during his hot and, imo, all too short feud with his brother. And it tick me off a little when Sheamus was practically handed the top belt instead (though that part also extends to John Morrison, Shelton Benjamin, and few others as well as Matt Hardy) Now, with that said, I cant say I feel sorry Matt Hardy and hope that he actually gets his act together.

Nice post. I do agree that I think Matt should have gotten a better push at times but I'd say back in 2003 when he was doing his Verison 1.0 gimmick and was pretty over as a heel cruiserweight champion. For whatever reason they never gave him a better run. Not that I think he deserved to be WWE champion or anything like that but they seemed to cut his legs out from under him overnight for whatever reason. Let's face it, Matt was never a great worker (he's probably average at best) and was never good with the mike so he was probably limited in his ceiling to begin with, even if he always got that entrance pop.

Anyway it is very hard to feel sorry for him now though, he's coming off like he's much more important in the wrestling universe than he is. He's pumping himself up so much and between him and his brother you'd think the 2nd coming of the nWo was going to invade TNA. He's definitely someone that thinks he's more important than he is when in fact he hasn't been meaningful in 4 years now. He'll pop up on TNA soon and get a huge pop (people were chanting 'we want Matt' at RAW) and will continue to get big pops for the first month of so. He'll get a decent size push to boot but in 6 months he'll either be in a meaningless feud with Jeff or he'll be back to tag teaming with him. And it will have no impact on the ratings what so ever.

I agree with you about Sheamus. I have never been a fan of his, especially with the poor booking with him as champion. The problem of course is in wrestling is it's about who your friends are and because Sheamus is buddies with Triple H he got a push. Morrison, Benjamin not so much. I'm praying that The Miz kisses Triple H's butt each day. I think Randy Orton has really been the only one that isn't friendly with Triple H that was able to break out but that's mostly because he has the look, talent and skills that he could do it on his own. I wish CM Punk would start to become friends with Triple H soon too.

Let me make one thing clear. I actually like Sheamus, and if I were the 'E, I would find a way to put him and Drew McIntyre in a feud in the future (from what I heard, they had a great feud when they wrestled in Ireland. True Story).

But the 'E is being a little too stingy with the strap.

I don't really have an opinion on Sheamus anymore. He's kind of just there for me. The WWE did an awful job booking him when he first beat Cena for the title so it annoyed me to no end. I still think they didn't book him great with his 2nd run but whatever.

I'm sure Matt signed a do not wrestle for TNA for X amount of days clause in order for the WWE to release him so he probably will pop up in ROH for awhile. But he's going to TNA as soon as he can.

Maybe she paid him for the name rights (like The Rock did) or worked out some kind of deal where she can use it? Maybe she owned/used the name before she came into the WWE (like CM Punk)? Didn't she put out a CD or something a while back, did she use the MJ name for that too? If so maybe since it's her 'stage name' she would be able to use it? I have no idea just throwing random stuff out there. It is also possible that the WWE just doesn't care, I mean it is Mickie James after all.

Does anyone even watch the WWE or TNA here? This thread has been mostly dead since WrestleMania. I mean the product is pretty bad right now in both organizations. I've actually been watching more RAW recently then before, it's just weird without a major heel on RAW, I don't buy Wade Barrett as a top heel yet. I think it would be smart for the WWE to finally turn Cena heel and run a heel Cena vs. Undertaker at WM, that would be a huge money match.

I also kind of miss Triple H too, although I'm sure I'll be kicking myself for saying that when he's finally back and beating everyone in sight. If and when he comes back he needs to go heel too. Just too many faces on both brands now, especially with Jericho out of action for awhile.

Yeah I don't have a problem with it really. I mean his involvement with the Orton/Barrett match is definitely interesting. I guess I'm talking about after this angle is done with they should turn Cena heel.

Maybe have Orton give Barrett an RKO and Cena counts to 2 then stops the count, have Orton and Cena go face to face yelling at each other and have Barrett catch Orton in a roll up pin and have Cena do a fast count and boom Cena is a heel. Then on RAW, Cena can say that being a wrestler is so important to him that he would do anything to keep his job even if it means doing something that isn't popular. The fans will boo and Cena can flip out on them saying he has given them his everything for the past 8 years and all he got in return is boos, he tried to be the good guy but he could never get the fans respect so now he doesn't respect them. He could then change his wrestling attire (seriously who actually wears jean shorts anymore especially to wrestle in) and the fans will eat it up. Plus you now have a new super over heel with Cena, very over face in Orton and Barrett as champion who can carry the belt around and continue to get over as Orton and Cena feud with each other until the Rumble. Then have Cena focus on The Undertaker and Orton can go right back into a feud with Barrett for the belt or a returning Jericho or whoever.

Of course the only problem with that is it leaves The Miz out in the cold and the WWE should probably be building up to a Miz/Orton program.

The problem with the WWE right now isn't talent, they have tons of it. The problem is the direction of the product and the storylines are weak.

I'll probably watch more TNA if it ever goes on an HD channel for comcast. I find WWE very hard to watch, with the PG push and the constant commericials. Also, there is very little actual wrestling.

if you've watched enough raw, you already know the script. For example, you the know the heel is going to enter and diss the sports teams from the city.

also, i like how in tna more of the male wrestlers are ugly and wear pants. vince's show borders on homo-erotic.

I found it funny that Orton called Cena a phony (if he were to cheat and let Barret win)when just a few months ago he was using 2 goons to steal titles himself.

I actually think that the youth movement going on in the WWE is fantastic. Miz, Sheamus, Barrett and Danielson have infused some much needed life into the upper half of the Raw roster.

I haven't missed HHH at all to be honest. I am sure the crowd will pop huge once he does, but him being gone has been amazing for the development of Sheamus and a few others.

I haven't been watching much Smackdown, but I would love to see the same thing go on. Push Swagger, Kaval, and a few others to the top of the car,d take your lumps early and reap the benefits down the road.

Also, Val Venis has re-signed with the WWE. My guess is to be enhancement talent and as a trainer, but I could be wrong. TNA is supposedly banning unportected chair shots...which is a good thing, but offered little to any reprecussions if they continue.

Another thing to keep an eye out fo is the tag divsion of both feds. TNA's is quite strong right now and the WWE's isn't. But rumor has it that they are looking to put some emphasis on tag teams again. If true, we may see them pair a few of their guys up who don't have much to do and give them a shot.

We do..Its just been moved to Sunday afternoons and nights. ;)

Seriously, why are they doing the same Smackdown that they did with Raw where Nexus picks off each member of the other team? Why not have TL come out and say that if Nexus picks off one of the Smackdown team, they forfeit a mamber of theirs? At least that would be different than this story which has been done several times before. Or maybe they could have the Smackdown team stick together like Nexus does for their own protection.

I don't know, I am just thinking they are running out of ideas. However I thought Vince's tribute to Blumenthal last Monday was gold.
