I'm trying to make a logo in Illustrator that incorporates a musical flat. Does anyone know where I can find a vector of a music flat that I can use for this logo? I am super new to Illustrator.

www.fordesigner.com is pretty good but their search function is a bit of a pain.

Alternatively you can search "free [what you're looking for] vector" in a search engine.

Oooooorrr, you can just find one on google images and trace it in illustrator.

    Hope that helps :hi5:

I haven't been able to find one that fits the font that I am using, so I'm trying to custom make it. This being my first experience with Illustrator, I'm struggling. I have the basic shape, but I'm having trouble refining it. I am happy with the center (the black) of the flat (the b) but I want the outside to outline it perfectly. As you can see, it doesn't. How can I do this so that it looks seamless, like it does for a little at the top of the loop on the b?

Do you use the pen tool in photoshop to silo photos? Because you'd use the exact same tool in Illustrator to draw.

Also, if you use a Mac, you can get the symbol from your character palette.

You'll need the pen tool as Finascious D said for best results.

    Try this though

    http://www.simplythebest.net/fonts/fonts/musical_symbols.html

This is what I used (or a similar font) found the note I wanted then created outlines. You can tweak it from there. You can search google for free musical symbol font or something similar.
