Leaked in the wee hours of the morning. Copying it to my HD as we speak. I hope it's good but obviously have some serious doubts. Game trailers reviewed it and it looked ok. http://www.konami.jp/castlevania/en/index.php
It’s a Kojima game. I’d expect it to be the first really good 3D Castlevania game. I’d also expect more than a passing similarity to God of War, judging from the trailers.
only about 3.5 hours in... But this game has been pretty spectacular so far. It's no SotN but pretty g.d. good so far.
I played the Demo tonight and it definitely seems like a god of war clone, however it seems to keep certain classic elements of the castlevania series. Mor any more thoughts on the game?
Got the game on sunday and I've really been digging it so far. The game looks amazing, easily one of the best looking games this gen and the backgrounds are tremendous. The combat is fun though I don't dig all the puzzles nothing made me want to kick kittens yet. Gabe is a total badass and the story isn't half bad at all. My really only complaint is that I wish the fps was more stable, there really isn't a reason for games at this point to not have a rock soild 30fps, and the game is proabbly a touch too long. Worth the buy though.
Ok, i beat it. Spoiler I hated the whole son of god angle they took at the end... It's so Kojima to have some unnecessary plot twist just for the sake of having a plot twist. It's not that it was totally bad... It's that there was no game to develop the character. So you're supposed to give a crap about the new super evil guy behind it all having no interaction with him besides the one cut scene. Again, maybe not as horrible as I'm making it sound but it was a huge "WTF - and that W is for WHY" moment for me. The obvious setup for a sequel is there if you watched past the credits (I love when games do that). Al in all great game. The last boss was a little underwhelming. I wanted something a little more grand.. But I guess considering the last few bosses en route, it was grand if you count the last 3 levels as one huge boss fight... Which it kind of was. Either way, over cooked plot twist and all, I loved it.
Spoiler Yeah, I wasn't a fan of Satan just popping up when he wasn't a factor all game. That was taking an easy way out. And with the very end scene...so how and why did he become a vampire? We just assume he became a vampire at some point? An elaboration on that was needed.
The end was a major cop-out. It's almost like they built up this great thing then didn't know how to end it... So they threw in some ridiculous twist and ended it. Amazing game... Iffy ending. Still though, can't wait for LoS2
