had a good game today. he had a few good tackles while being blocked. and some tackles for loss. i am happy with him today....especially being his first game all season. Will only improve from here. props to him
Definitely looked better than he has in the past, which is also good because it was his first game. I think being paired up with Dansby will help a lot. Hope he stays healthy.
agreed. he looked even better than he did last year. and hes been injured/out all year. this defensive front 7 will only improve as we go from game to game with crowder/dansby and eventually get odrick back.
Looked good. Made one really incredible tackle on a screen, and then was right there on another screen that the RB dropped.
yeah, i thought he played very well today against the run especially... also made a couple of nice plays against the Packers screen calls. Was happy to see him come off the field in obvious passing downs though. And that is the beauty of having a player so versatile in Karlos Dansby.
He made a pretty bad read on the Jennings TD...but he did have a nice tackle on the goaline in GB's final TD drive.
It's only one game but Crowder looked very good today. Maybe he's turned the corner and playing next to Dansby and in Nolan's system is displaying his talents. It would be huge for our defense if he keeps it up.
Agreed. Thought Crowder looked good out there today for first game back. Hopefully that continues, its big having him back IMO.
if jason allen can improve so drastically with this new defense, why cant we hope for the same with crowder? i think game 1....he did well. move up from here, and we'll be ok.
I don't know why people insist on acting like Crowder hasn't been pretty damned good at times in the past.
I'm beginning to get a bit concerned about Yeremiah... He seems to be making mis-steps he did not make before, and having a more difficult time getting into position - or I may have just noticed it because they showed a couple of missed tackles (some with no comment!) and a false step which did not help anyone covering Jennings for his touchdown. Has he lost a step?
The Dolphins were looking for Channing Crowder to make a pretty big impact today, and he did. The Dolphins did not allow much in rushing. That Rodgers TD was a function of Yeremiah Bell pulling up to make a defensive call. The run defense was pretty good today and I think Crowder made an impact on that.
Good game by Crowder. I wonder if Crowders helped special teams by allowing Dobbins to put more energy towards special teams
Baby steps or stepping stones whatever you want to call it Crowder was decent today. If he is consistent moving forward we can work with that.
Crowder's presence was definitely felt on the field today. He really helped out with the run game. Another plus was it left Dobbins fresh to be a producer on special teams.
2 down role in a Nolan D might be just what he can do. However I still want to see game changing plays out of Crowder before I sign off positively on him. By that I mean a couple sacks and a couple forced fumbles this year.
The dude's been out and itching to get back into things since the 1st preseason game of the year. He had a lot of built up angst he needed to get out. What's interesting about the absence is he might have gotten a more bird's eye view of what the defense needed out there, in terms of leadership and energy, things that were missing. He could come in and more strategically insert what he felt was missing. When he was back-back this week in practice, his effect on players and coaches alike was undeniable. He's been around, but if you're not playing you've got to sit down and shut up. That's the rule basically. Injured players are ghosts. He might have been thinking the whole time he was out, this defense needs someone to pick them up energy-wise, someone to get them having fun. After the game you heard Vontae talking about him, I think others did as well.
???? Vontae (who played horrible today) has been dancing and talking trash like Crowder all year. I don't by the talking trash as something we were missing. Crowder made 3 tackles, its not like he came in and was Butkas! Yes we missed him, but he didn't do much more than Dobbins did in the games he played. And I'm not saying Dobbins is better than Crowder.
Beyond being burned by just a great route ran by Jennings, I didn't feel Vontae played horrible. I wouldn't say he played great, but definitely not horrible. Vontae, from my perspective, is a guy that just shows emotion on the field.. he talks some trash but not that much... you see him in interviews and he's rather reserved unlike Crowder.
