I think that's exactly what it means. Why else sign a back up fullback to replace a back LB? :pity:

Hopefully its more of a special teams move, and not a move that signals we're without Lousaka for a while.

What the hell is it with this Cowboys love affair? I guess there aren't any other teams in the league that have quality players.

Why? We have lacked a blocking Te/HBack all season, Anderson fills the bill and is proven as a blocker and knows the offense and is a good special teams player.

As soon as Haynos went down and Anderson waived, I calculated he'd wind up in Miami simply because he can do so many jobs. And the Cowboys running game was at it's best when Anderson was healthy.

It continues to amaze me that a team can lose it's fullback, struggle to run the ball well, then the NFL shows say "what is wrong with their running game"?

We saw the same thing happen in Miami, when Tony Paige retired the running game vanished.

not this specific move. but the lovefest for former cowboys is old. there are 30 other teams in the nfl.

cowboys are 1-4....and we are waiting at their dinner table for scraps to fall off.

Its because they're familiar with the cowboys players. Much like in professional life. If you know someone's capabilities through work over the years, you feel more comfortable, vastly more comfortable, bringing them on board than someone you haven't worked with closely on a daily basis.

It isn't that hard to figure out, unless you're young with little experience in life.

regardless of age, it isnt hard to figure out.

I get it....but there comes a time when you should sniff around somewhere else....a crap cowboys team cant use him....or alot of these players, why can we? How'd carpenter work out?

    Padre nailed it.
The radio media here have been pointing out that when they cut Anderson, their running game magically disappeared.
Folks here are not happy that Anderson is no longer available and the pokes still can't run the ball to save their lives.

That's basically the same argument as it's better working with people you "know" rather than getting the best available.

We now have the horses to run a H-Back offense as well, Anderson if healthy, is a nice pickup for a team that relies on running the ball.

What? Fullback/H-Backs who can play are hard to find even before the season, during the season nearly impossible, Anderson was easily the best FB/HB on the market..bar none.

And look at the Free Agent Te list, outside of LJ Smith, there is no one out there other than Rooks and Anthony Becht.

Screw-it! Play Deon and Lou... One on each side of Henne! Run-block and pass-block craziness, LOL! 1-TE, 2-FB and a RB against the Steelers... It's just crazy enough to work.

    Well think:

Fasano-oline-Anderson offset-Ronnie B with Lou as the lead blocker.

Anderson seals off backside pursuit, Fasano handles the OLB and Lou takes out the safety..that is the old Washington Redskins 1 back offense to a "T", the only thing we lacked was an HBack..enter Deon Anderson.

That is why I say one of the Te's, Mastrud or Shuler is in trouble imho.

And we gonna hear some pads and helmets causing collisions this Sunday..Sparano just upped the brutality on offense.

I'm willing to be Anderson plays a big part for us. Mostly replacing the 2nd TE on 2 TE spots as more of a h-back. Then also blocking on STs.

    I like the pick up

    Yep, Ill repeat myself.
This is more about blocking on punts and kicks than anything.
The added dimension for power running, and I think some PA out of it (If Henne could ever figure out how to hide the damn ball) that's a much added bonus.
Anderson is good for that. Its a nice pickup IMO

Should be interesting Az, we could see a one Tailback, two Fb formation, which creates all sorts of key reading problems for a Defense, Lb's are taught to follow the FB or Guard to the ball, well which FB will they key on?

This is going to be a fun game on Sunday..a real slug fest.

Why? To me his performance so far this year warrants the team/us being down on him.

Maybe it lights that proverbial fire , maybe Anderson is an upgrade.... what Lou has done this year isn't anything to miss imo.

Because Lou misses on his first 3rd or 4th and 1 out of 20? tries he now all of a sudden isn't a good player. Right.

I'm honestly very surprised with Penny showing Henne the ropes, he isn't better at it.
Deberg was DAMN good at PA, as was Danny White.
Big hands is part of it I have heard.

1 and 4 with a boat load of talent and a leaderless coach that is allowing the inmates to almost run the asylum ... that they are 1 and 4 isn't indicative of their players talent level imo .

    Yeah, not even close.
Their two weaknesses are Mental and Mental.
Any team that gets a 15 yarder for TD celebration one week, only to follow it up again the next week has issues in "La Caveza".

EDIT: I meant not even close to not having talent. Your statement was very accurate.
They are easily the most talented 1-4 team out there.

Well I didn't think the team needed a fullback. I didn't know anything about this player but it sounds like it was a good pick up and the guy is allegedly a good special teams players. I just don't like how they seem to put all their eggs in one basket and only get players from Dallas.
