According to Mike Francesa the YES Network (Yankee station) was going on and on about how Berkman's foul HR should have been ruled a HR because the video evidence isn't clear where or not the ball may have slightly grazed the foul pole and because the umps original ruling was a HR, the call should have stood.

They also apparently said Swisher got hit by the pitch with the bases loaded so he should have went to first and thus scored a run (it sure as heck looked like Swisher got hit but he didn't argue much if at all) and that the ball Hamilton hit that went into the stands that Gardner tried to catch should have been ruled an out due to interference. The same announcers didn't even question the Cano HR, they said the ump was right and that was the end of the discussion.

If true hopefully those guys will get a nice bonus check from the homer network. I understand the need to cheer on the home team a little bit but if you're going that overboard complaining about a blow out game clearly something is wrong.

    Its called dillusional commentating.
ESPN invented it, YES just ripped it the hell off.
In sharp contrast, today Tom Grieve (Rangers announcer) explained that the Cruz interference should have been reviewed, but since the incident did occur over the wall, it shouldn't be interference...that being said, he also said Cruz probably wouldve caught it if nobody was there, but that doesn't play into the interference rule as I thought it did.

That would be Michael Kay....the guy needs to shut up...he is the same guy who made a fuss about Cliff Lee's hat.....nice way to court Lee.....Kay shut up!!! Lee should be like why should I play for them, if there stupid *** annoouncer is dogging me out...Cashman needs to step in and tell that asshat to be quiet, because if he cost the Yankees Lee, he is gone...

    The ball was foul clearly.....

The ball would have been caught by Gardner BUT was in the stands, so fair game at that point....

I will say Swisher definately got hit, which sucked because that would have made it 7-4 with one out....things would have started to heat up...instead he flies out to shallow CF on the next pitch....

that is as well dillusional commentating.....the rule clearly states you cant review a judgement call....only fair/foul....or like there are areas in stadiums where if it hits it could be a home run but the ump doesnt know...i.e. that little lip in the front of the monster seats at fenway or arizona has an area I believe as well......bottom line it cant be accessable by a player...last nights was...

as well he gave it a great shot, but wouldnt have caught it....the ball went about 3 feet over his glove...

I just bet on the Yankees to win against the moneyline AND the runline.

What the hell, if I’m going down on a sinking ship, I’m going to be committed.

I’m currently in the middle of a home air conditioning replacement, so maybe it’s just my brain slowly being cooked inside my skull.

At the very least, I’ll be happy to make up what I lost the last two days.

Being replaced because it’s broken, but yeah, definitely getting the tax credit.

I hate ESPN, but their iPhone app is great. You can get alerts every time something happens in a game.

I am happier to see the "hits" from Jorge and Granderson....the toss the ball around game TEX played was icing on that cake!

Also, Arod and Berkman working out walks vs. swinging at anything and everything and chasing out of the zone was nice as well.

Maybe, just maybe we bust out of this series long slump and bat ZZZZZzzzzzz...maybe.

P.S. Yanks inability to throw out anyone attempting to steal is a major letdown.

P.S.S. CC's ability to say, who cares, I will just get the batter out is a major prop!

 why did you wait so long?!

well from my perspective, i'm kinda digging this. this really isn't that good a yankees team historically so what i want out of them is a legendary comeback. down 1-3 and a sweep of the final three would be epic. if you cant win 110 games and go 11-0 in the playoffs then give me a story worthy of retelling

I don’t want to be Berkman right now. His head bounced way too hard.

Actually never made contact with ground....fortunately....losing Teixeira is bad enough....can not afford anymore, and frankly I think that is too much for this series.

    Nice.....

Nelson Cruz left Wednesday's game in the fifth inning with a left hamstring injury.

David Murphy took over in left field. It's the same hamstring that had Cruz on the DL twice this year. He was probably hurt on his fourth-inning double, though he did stay in to play defense in the bottom of the frame. He's listed as day-to-day.

I hate UMPs and their horrible strike zones....

CC has thrown 4 out of the first 5 pitches vs Treanor in the zone...and only got two called..

now its bases loaded 1 out....3-2 count.

    Umps suck!

Sabathia barely avoided disaster there. That’s probably all from him tonight.

Edit: kicking myself for not taking the over tonight. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20.
