The one rook I buy their jersey with an auto and he lands on the IR?

Oh, good to see the Padre good luck streak is still intact, this draft class has been non exsitant on the field aside from Koa Misi.

Thank goodness Irish is on the job, if anyone can ferret out an acorn it is Irish.

Hmm, someone was telling me about as soon as Odie came back, Starks would move back to NT..hmm..who was that?

Most missed it, but McD started the game at NT vs the Packers.

Thought it was a terrible pick to begin with. I know this isn't his fault or anything, but I don't see the difference with him on the field vs. the defense without him. This will turn out to be another wasted high draft choice like I thought it would be.

One rookie on this team. One rookie is contributing at a relatively high level. These guys can't draft for ****.

Jason La Canfora was right the first time when he reported that Odrick was going to be out for six weeks while everyone else reported 2-4 weeks.

Sucks big time. Another draft class that seems to be a waste. This franchise has to hold the record for futility this decade in the draft.

Wow we finally agree about something. I didn't like the pick at all either.
Took all kinds of hell for it here.
I sure hope we are wrong in the long run though.

Well Sick, the way I see it this is when Jeff Ireland is at his best, when a player goes down and we need a fillin ASAP who can come in and play Day 1 and contribute.

Irish is really very good in this situation and I have full confidence in his talent to sift someone out of the scrap heap.

Watch Clifton Geathers (Humpty) will get a shot..or so I hope, as the Dline does look a bit thin:

    Starks
    Langford
    Soliai
    McDaniel
    Baker

There is a slew of vet DE's hanging out, not to mention UDFA's/Released Rookies hanging out, this is where I like seeing Irish work, he'll find someone

I'm very patient. I really didn't think we needed another DE who doesn't have the ability to drop back and play outside. I wasn't a big fan of this draft (or any other of the three years this regime has been here) to begin with. They haven't had one solid draft yet, so that's why I'm a bit more impatient in this situation.

I hope we're wrong too, though Nate Allen sure would look good in a Dolphins uniform right now. I just never saw more than an average-decent player in Odrick.

I still have ZERO F-IN idea why those 2 didnt make the 53 man roster...completely and totally beyond me.

For the record, nothing against the kid, but I also didnt care for the Odrick pick. Sure hope he can come back from this.

I wouldn't mind bringing Grant back. I thought he was alright in the preseason and got to the QB a bit.

What about Robert Rose? I don't even think he's been active yet. Maybe we give him a shot.

We could bring Clifton Geathers up from the PS.

Same here. Both were impressive in the preseason. Every time Grant stepped on the field he was getting some pressure in on the QB, and Douglas was solid in run support. Guess they wanted to go younger.

I wouldn't mind bringing either of the two back as there wouldn't be much of an adjustment period. I know they weren't here too long, but long enough to learn the system.

    Man... WTF!!! :tantrum:

I was just reading something this morning that he was going to play against Pitt.

What a bummer, it really looked like this kid was going to have a promising year for us. Hopefully he can come back from this. Even more so, hopefully this isn't true and he's going to play sunday!

I knew there were way too many Bleacher Report postings today. Not to mention all the sunshine up your a$$ posts.

I knew something was up today. I was literally thinking how painful it would be to play that position with a break in that area. I said to myself maybe we should wait another week or give him limited stuff. Oh Well, I liked Marques Douglas a lot, even Grant.

Grant, or Jarvis Green, or Marques Douglas, I'd prefer a Vet who can contribute.

He was called up but remained inactive.

Would love to see what he has to offer, Geathers is a physical freak, 6'8 300 pds sub 5.0 40, he reminds me of a young Tony McDaniel.

Edgar thompson has confirmed he is out, they don't know if re-aggravated the injury or if it is a new one all together. Miami could add a veteran at DE, but they can also with what the have been going with since Odrick was injured and develop a young talent, like David Veikune who they workedout weeks ago.

C'mon now padre, you can't predict injury. Misi has been fine. Jerry got sick (as did your boy IAF) but he's back. Edds has been out since before training camp, so that's a wash, but we've seen Carroll, Jones, and Spitler all on special teams duty. Odrick started his first game - seems like pretty solid production to me, injuries/illnesses not withstanding.

Veikune is not large enough to be a DE in a 3-4.
