Some of you guys are too much. The guy breaks his leg and he's a bust.

Great insight. Can any of you soothsayers hook a brother up with a lock for this weekend?

Polian rarely misses in the short time and the long run. That ship hasn't sailed yet.
Jerry Hughes is the guy I wanted when we moved back. True.

To be fair, I added the second part once Thompson shared that it was a broken leg.

I think he's going to be a good player. I just hope our 1st round pick can get better because Wilson has been struggling.

Observation only, we have not gotten much production out of this draft class..so far..Odie/Jerry/Edds all missed time with injuries, Misi and Carroll have produced, but it should be mentioned Carroll had a hand injury, Rashad Jones has played on Special Teams.

And we are still 3-2, so no huge deal, if it takes re-inserting a new plate to get Odie back to 100% in 2011 I'm fine with it.

The way I see it, we get a an extra #1 and #4 pick next season in terms of player availability.

AFAIK, there are no more ex Ireland Cowboy Dlinemen on the market at the moment, could be someone they had in camp in Dallas, but that was almost 4 yrs ago..so chances are good there just isn't one floating around.

But believe me when I say there is a heard of Veteran Dlinemen floating around the NFL at the moment, if they want to go with a Veteran they are out there to be signed.

We've been better than expected on defense for the most part without Odrick to date. What would lead you to believe we can't move forward without him?

So why the hell was he getting work today?
Keep him out till completely healthy. He was rolling with an ankle injury.

I don't know how anyone ripped you apart for saying you did not like the pick. Almost everyone of us wanted Hughes.

They more than likely said give the pick a chance because Odi has good pedigree.

Phillip Merlings says "He fellas, remember me? I was a first round pick three yrs ago..hello..is this thing on?"

Should be interesting getting these two back next season, those are some high picks coming back into battery.

    #32=First Round, last pick.

    :D

Funny dude produced more in his NFL career than Odie and it is not close, yet Odie breaks his leg and Merling tears an achilles and Odie is mourned and Merling :yawned:

Two first round picks on DE's who are not going to play in 2010, but are not missed, someone is doing a good job of finding talent to plug into the mix.

1st pick of the 2nd rd. The actual 32nd pick (last pick of the 1st rd) was forfeit by NE Patriots. Nowhere is Merling recognized as a 1st rd pick.

People yawned about Merling because we had Odrick to help alleviate some of the concern.

Merling is the 32nd player taken, that is in the first round.

Be that as it may, Merling and Odrick being out and the defense still playing well is a good example of the job Ireland and Nolan and Kacy Rodgers are doing with what they have to work with, Ryan Baker is not on par with either player yet when in the game he manages to acquit himself well during games.

I think both of you are correct. Isn't it because the Pats lost the 32 pick and since Miami had the first pick in the second round so the NFL said with the first pick in the second round Miami picks Phillip Merling. But yeah, he was the 32nd player taken.

No it's not, and you will find no one in the NFL who will say Merling was a 1st rd pick.

Exactly, the reality is Merling was the 32nd player taken in that draft, whether the NFL recognizes that, or not, is no matter to me, and is as silly as "revoking wins" in the NCAA.

We have 2 first round DE's on the sidelines, who aren't being missed, that speaks to a good job being done by the front office and Staff, which is the bottom line to all of this.

Mike Nolan and Kacy Rodgers are making due without two of their young guys on the Dline.

Suck we lost Odrick, but we have not really missed him, are current DL is getting the job done. I suspect Miami could try signing a DL men, but they don't really need to. I am interested in seeing who is brought in to fill the roster spot.
