"The last time the Gators didn't score a touchdown? In 2005, Urban Meyer's first season as coach in Gainesville, the Gators lost 31-3 in the exact same place to Mike Shula's Tide."

Got in the redzone 5 ****ing times and came away with only 6 points. I am so sick of Steve Addazio it ridiculous. His play calling is so predictable its sad. We struggled last year and we are again this year and I know we lost some guys but its very aggravating with some of the play calls.

Very happy that the Gators have the #1 fullback recruit committed cause we need a great one. I miss Billy Latsko sooo much.

Also believe it or not I am actually somewhat proud of the Gators after last night. I mean we gained more yards than the tide and I thought our defense played much better than what they did in the SEC title game. Also we are very young on defense and we are going to get much better.

And our OL performance was disapointing too. They got manhandled by Bama.Too much pressure allowed on Brantley .That and the inexcusable bad snaps are not going to help Brantley gain the confidence he needs.

I know its simplistic to blame just one person but Steve Adazzio is responsible for the OL,the snapping problem which has become a national joke now and the playcalling.

Ultimately its Meyers fault for not identifying the defficiencies.

Meyer probably feels a sense of loyalty to him because Adazzio took over the team while he was stressing out but he needs to hire a real OC IMO.

    Adazzio needs to go.

There is no excuse for failing to punch it in the endzone five times, none.

John Brantley is a pro style QB and Meyer is trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

I thought we would lose but not like this. The odd thing is, after a day I feel a lot better about this game. The Bama game probably did more good then harm. Sure we lost but by losing we learned a little about ourselves. Playing the best makes you better.

I can't wait for the LSU game. I am excited to see what we learned.

As I said in a post before the game I hope Adazzio has something else up his sleeve other than the Burton formation in the end zone which Bama had plenty time to prepare for.He didnt.

The elephant defensive line did work against Bamas running game somewhat in the second half but we had self destructed by then .

Personally, I would not have let Adazzio back on the plane. Absolutely horrible. Yes, it is easy to blame one person. Heck it is the oline and offense. Both coached by the same guy! Yes, Meyer needs to see this and do something about it, but make no mistake... Adazzio is the heart of the whole problem.

Sad that our Oline was supposed to be a strength of this team. We have had a ton of injuries and it seems like we are moving guys around every week.

Meyer feels loyal to all his coaches and heard that was 1 reason he came back to the Gators instead of stepping down.

I could not agree more. Play calling is sad and predictable. We are not catering to our best offensive weapons.

I don't think they are trying to make John Brantley do something he is not good at but to me its much more about getting are speed back to the edges. Also always keeping that threat there but I do undersatnd what your saying.

I completely agree with you. It sucked that we lost but we never laid down and our QB was diving for 1st downs late in the game when it was already decided.

I think we beat LSU by 14

I totally agree with the post. I really hope that at the end of the year we let him go but sadly I think it will take at least 4 losses for that to happen.

We suck, whole offense is playing like ****. I knew we were gonna lose this game. Mullen knows the weaknesses to this team, I mean he was only here for 3/4 years and an assistant under Meyer for 10. Got my tickets for UGA, I"m a true fan and going anyway. Unlike some others.

IMO, this is the root of the problem. Someone needs to figure out a fair system that will give the upper classmen incentive to stay in school.

Whether they ever intended to get a degree or not, they do risk injury, jeopardizing their ability to make it to the money.

When Mullen left we struggled on offense even with the national championship team and Tebow.

Obviously the playcalling has been suspect.

This team still does not have an identity and Brantley has not looked like the leader this team needs so far.

Its a rebuilding year, no doubt but there are some core problems that need to be addressed .Coaching for one .Meyer has to be more involved and if he is not willing to do that then he should quit for real IMO.

A big issue is we arent getting the ball in the hands of the playmakers. The whole reason the spread is sucessful because you have multiple guys who can touch the ball and make plays and then the offense has to get them the ball. Right now we primarily get the ball to a rb or burton. Debose (b4 he got hurt), moore, and hines should all be included more.

I had so much hope for Debose but he is looking like one of those injury prone players.Fragile.

Agree on seeing more of Hines ,Moore and Burton.

We are seeing more of Frankie Hammond which is good.

Deonte Thompson drops have killed a lot of drives too.

He has had at least one big drop every game it seems.

I don't know if it's fair to call him fraile at this point in time. Also not only is Thompson dropping the ball, but he had a pass deflected off a hand that led to Brantley's interception vs. MSU. What upsets me the most is when someone says we don't have a reliable wide receiver. WE DO. His name is Carl Moore. 11 or 12 of his catches are 3rd or 4th down conversions and usually on down and long. This guy has proven to be clutch and reliable, why don't we throw to him more on 1st and 2nd down.?

We go back to the unimaginative playcalling issue. If a receiver proves he is clutch why not go to him more often ?

He should go back to a more pro-style offense like what he did with Chris Leak.

John Brantley is not a spread QB. Stop treating him as such.

Ya know Crunch, I think UM had taken on the same roll as Bobby Bowden, in his final years, reaping the same results.

I don't care how good a coach you are, you still have to be extremely involved with the daily goings on with the team or you will fail.

A figure head as a head coach, is not a head coach.

As a Mississippi State guy, I am more than happy that we were able to get Dan Mullen away from y'all. Even if he is using us a stepping stone, he is changing the culture at Mississippi State. After we beat you, we picked up a big time commitment from Nick Brassell, a wide receiver that plays for South Panola in Batesville, MS, who is rated as one of the top 2 prospects in Mississippi. The word is, we will likely get another commitment from the other top prospect in the state, Madison Central wide receiver Tobias Singleton. Dan Mullen has come into Mississippi and has essentially made Ole Miss irrelevant when it comes to recruiting in Mississippi.

In looking at Florida's offense this year, here are the questions I have:

    1. Are the struggles offensively coming from an inability to adapt the offense to a more pro style passer?
    2. Is the lack of consistent running game a contributing factor to the inability to adapt the offense?
    3. How different is this from their initial struggles to install the spread offense when Chris Leak was the quarterback?

I'm wondering what's going on, because within the next two years, Dan Mullen is going to have to transition his spread offense to a more pro style passer in Tyler Russell. I'm of the opinion that the transition will be easier if we are able to run the ball consistently with our backs and not have to use the quarterback off the zone read so much. Tyler can run a little, but he's much more of a drop back passer than a runner.

Obviously, the ideal quarterback for this offense is a dual threat who can be a key component in the running game while also being able to get the ball into the hands of the playmakers on the perimeter.
