I haven't watched UFL ever before. Maurice Clarett, Jeff Garcia, and Ahman Green (among others) play for Omaha. There is a live stream of the game streamed via the ufl website: http://www.ufl-football.com/livestreaming/2010REG02HRT@OMA
I think the dolphins grounds crew needs to talk to these Omaha people about being able to cover up some infield, they've done a nice job here.
The Hartford Colonels are kinda the Dolphins cast off destination: -Josh McCown -Sir Vincent Rogers Lorenzo..Booker...wow...
Chris Palmer hired Sparano back when he was the HC in Cleveland, so they have a kind of connection..needless Hartford is the UFL team I watch. Watch, John Nalbone will end up there.
This game has turned out awesome. Definitely going to tune into more games. 26-20 Hartford. Omaha has a chance. Question, would you rather be on a practice squad or a starter in the UFL if you had that chance?
PS no doubt, you could make the NFL any given week. Now if it was development situation than UFL no doubt.
I think you and myself were the two UFL fans last season? This was a typical UFL game, not thrilled with the no blitzing deal, but other than that issue, it is good football. Last yr I liked the Locos due to JP Losman being there. How about that, Charles Grant to finish the game.
Damn what a game. Honestly thought Omaha had no chance after the first half. And no Padre, I didn't watch much of the UFL last season. After this game I will. The online stream can't be beat and the announcers weren't half bad. Kudos to Jeff Garcia.
Paul McGuire is a huge upgrade over last season with Flutie and Kordell Stewart. For me, I've just followed the CFL since April or May and they play at the same time and nights as the UFL.
Going back to development, I wish the NFL would incorporate practice squads with the UFL. It would make it a farm league type of situation, where you could send your players under contract to develop against NFL vets and other NFL development players. Hopefully they do something like that, instead of them sitting there practicing against themselves all season. Would definitely make more sense IMO.
A developmental league is one of the things on the drawing board with this round of labor negotiations. The NFL has approached the UFL about a buyout but the UFL turned them down, they did lose 25 million dollars last yr, but that crowd tonight, 24k in Omaha was a league record so maybe they have some life in them yet.
I love the NightHawks. I was a Tusker fan last year and went to a couple of the games in the Citrus Bowl, but Omaha is just badass. I cant wait till next year when there is an LA and Virginia team. And, if there is an NFL lockout..expect this league to grow quick.
