They need a ****ing lawyer with some of these refs. Had to be determined by video evidence? What does that even mean? You have to show what that the ball is under the player? The player's hands on the ball. What standard do you hold that ball to be determined by video evidence?

By that standard no one in the U.S. would be convicted of murder without video evidence. I mean that's just ridiculous. Who other than Francis could have had that ball?

No that's bull****. It's one thing to ask a team to recover, but when you're playing a game of inches and you're playing the BEST TEAM IN THE NFL, you can't just say oh well they still should have won. That's a machismo saying that you believe when you're playing, not when you're reviewing.

They got robbed, end of story, done over. You fight through it, that doesn't mean you let the refs off the hook. The Miami Dolphins played to win (Except Dan Henning).

Of course but would you disagree we had a chance to jump on them early.
Two Pitt TO's in the first three minutes and we walk out with 6 points
Everyone talks about big early leads and we were sitting on our proverbial hands. Still one Marshall TD in 6 games

    Run game?

Wait a minute.... We are talking 4th and 6. The guy in Bangledesh with a soccer ball in his hand knows that we are passing. Here is the difference between HENNE and the guy in Bangledesh..

If we do not get the first down, we lose the game.

I'm betting a thousand bucks that the guy in Bangledesh is throwing beyond the sticks!

You people can deflect all that you want and say that we should have scored more and blah blah blah....fact of the matter is we got screwed on a call that put us behind on points. We made the play to win the game and had it ripped away from us by a terrible premature TD call by a ref that didn't see what he wanted to see.

The whole arguement that you can't let yourself get in situations to lose by a bad call is a load of crap. Its the F'in NFL...most of the games are close. A bad call can screw any team, if we have a guy running wide open down the field and the end of the game and he gets tackled as the ball is coming to him and its not called when that would have been a TD is a bad call that can cost you the game. To say well we should have scored more so we didn't need that TD is weak sauce.

I'll take a win in the past tense! Was it a win in the past tense? If so I am going to be really happy all of a sudden  Best I can figure we still lost, past, present and future tense.

I agree that we got completely screwed but that fumble recovery doesn't win us the game. There was still 2:30 on the clock and the Steelers had 3 timeouts. They still could have forced a punt and only needed a field goal to win. That's why playing not to lose screws you. There is no margin of error.

You want to get up on teams early. Especially good one like the Steelers.
We had the chance and we blew it.
Blaming the refs even if they did blow didn't cost us this football game

see, you won't win this argument, because it did.

We might have been in a position to not have to rely on making that play. But we were, and we did, and they cost us the game.

5 field goals. 1 touchdown. Dan Henning is a problem. It's not just execution. Maybe now you all will realize this.

It's ridiculous thought to ask your team to play perfect to win against similar talent though. They need to have explosive speed at WR or TE to help them make the big play so that Henne's dump offs are open to an even greater degree. Hartline made some plays but a faster WR out there could have helped tremendously.

Play to win or play not to lose regardless we got robbed. The call was easy but it was for the wrong fan base.

His line judge is the piece of scum sucking sh!t that screwed us in the Saints game last year. This must be the crew with all the worst officials.
Fvck you Steratore. You can eat sh!t and die as far as I'm concerned.

Same for your blind line judge for his non call in the Saints game last year.

For some reason I am more pissed at Henning calling a run play on our last drive than the blown call. Our defense gave us a chance to win at the end, where Henning pretty much gave our offense a wasted down. It is what it is, very disappointing that we played not to win the entire game, but not to lose. It will continue this way until we get more aggressive with the ball.

Henne missed marshall on that back shoulder throw to the endzone on 3rd down. That should have been a td and its completely on Marshall and Henne.

i'd have to re-watch the redzone plays to pick apart the rest, which im not gong to do, but please stop blaming Henning. It's such a lazy excuse at this point. Plays were there, execution wasn't.

Still all on the refs though.

Ok so that one field goal should have been a touchdown. How about the other 4?

I am not familiar with the rule, but I thought that the REFS did not finish the play.
There was no one near the ball when it was recovered. Not sure what to say,wth where they?

Don't care about winning an argument.
We lost the football game early. You get TO's like that and you take advantage.
Bottom line. we forced a chance to go up big and the O blows it
We have Marshall now and we still score one TD out of many many chances.
Remind you it was Bess the possession guy
    Marshall has 1 TD..... weak

I like how they had no problem giving the Saints the ball last year when they were playing the Redskins. The Redskins fumbled the ball AFTER the whistle was clearly blown and the players gave up on the play, but then the Saints players still recovered the ball... again AFTER the whislte had CLEARLY been blown. Yet, infamously, the Refs handed the ball over to the Saints.

Is it just a coinicidence that Super Bowl teams constantly have these types of crazy plays go this way?

    Tom Brady/Tuck rule?

    Nope!

2:30 minutes left in the game, and Miami is up by 2 points. No matter what happened in the first half, they had the lead, and caused a fumble, and recovered it in the endzone. That should have been 1st and 10 at the 20 with Miami needing to run out the clock to end it, or let Pitt have another chance.

Dude that flies against the lesser teams in the league but this was the team giving up the least points in the NFL and the number one team against the run.

You always want a TD but you take what you can get and in the end it showed Miami was prevailing.........only to have it taken away on, not only a bad call, but one of the worst calls we've ever seen.

Right but we now see what happens when a Dolphins player, that touched the ball first, then walked out of the pile with the ball raised high in the air.

In the rule book there will now be a "hose them rule", which makes it ok to **** a very deserving team of a win...

No, if the Refs didnt give the game away, we win the f-in game.

    It was sooooo damn blatent.

I had a good friend of mine that is an Atlanta fan call and ask WTF was that.... WTF was that. It was so dam blatent it was almost out of a movie.

Again, its not like Putzburg gets these calls every once a season, or couple of times a season, they get them every g-dam game. F-in rediculous.

ALSO, anybody see Bess get SPEARED on his TD?

It's not wrong. The Steelers settled for FGs several times as well. They are the top D for a reason. Yeah it would have been great to score 35 points. No one had even scored 22 against them until we did it. 22 should have been good enough. Thanks to poor officiating, it wasn't. I'll admit that the game wasn't always called very well from an offensive standpoint but the bottom line is that it should have been good enough.
