    Three problems with your post:

1: You can't say "personally" if you aren't a person. A person has to be human for it to count.
2: We all know you you can't think.
3: Its a call that will hopefully bite the Jets in the *** come playoffs.

I just don't get it. Why the eff didn't they sort the pile and see who had the ball? WHY?? That's the big problem here. The rules were put in place a few years ago so these kind of things wouldn't happen. Rule it a TD on the field? Fine, bang bang play, but it was obvious it was close, so they should have cleared the pile and figured out who had the ball, then go review to see if it was a TD, and if it wasn't, YOU KNOW WHO TO GIVE THE BALL TO!

Infuriating, because it was obvious when the pile cleared we had the ball.

I'm still completely ****ing depressed over that ****ing call. I've yet to really rant about it, so I'll take this time to do so.

    1. Steratore is from Pittsburgh. How the **** do you let a guy officiate a game his hometown team is playing in? Seriously, I'm sure there's no ****ing chance there's any bias there.

    2. He obviously made the call as a Steelers fan, and not as an unbiased official. It's just too ****ing obvious. There's 5 refs around the endzone. The line judge ruling it a TD. Another guy standing around. 2 officials doing what the **** they are instructed to do, sort out who's got the ball. And then of course, the head ref. Why the **** was he in such a hurry to rule the play a TD, and not do what he's been intructed to do, which is letting it play out. Is it because he's a Steelers fan? I see no other alternative.

    3. Seriously, again, why the **** did they not let it play out to determine who recovered the football. That's what the **** they're instructed to do. 2 referees did their job. 3 didn't, and should be fired, suspended, or fined.

    4. Those referees doing their jobs, called White Ball, according to Dansby, Crowder, and IKA. They then told Dansby after the challenge, it wasn't in their hands. ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME??? It's not in the hands of the ****ing refs who are actually standing right the **** there? Is that a ****ing joke? Yea, who gives a **** what the guys standing right next to the god damned action think, let's let mother****ers who weren't there determine what happened.

    5. #59 of the Miami Dolphins was the first to dive on the ball. He was also the one to jump up with the ball and hand it to the refs. What more ****ing evidence do you need? Crowder summed it up perfectly with his comments. The ball didn't go from IKA's hands into 16 different players hands then back to him, this isn't ****ing hot potato.

    6. Why the **** is it the same damn refs with the controversial calls? This is the same ref who screwed the Lions out of a win earlier in the season. Ed Hoculi screws at least 2 teams out of a win every season. Fire these incompetent jackasses.

    7. I'm sure fines will be handed out to Crowder, Sparano, McDaniel, Dansby, and maybe IKA. Meanwhile the refs will be defended by the league. FIne these stupid ****s. Suspend them. Fire them. They are the ones ruining games each and every damn week. Take some ****ing responsibility. Admit you were wrong, it sure as **** would make me feel better. Won't happen though.

That was therapeutic...Feel much better now.

    9. It won't please Dolphins fans to know that Steratore is a Pittsburgh native.
Here's my conspiracy theory on this douche bag POS:

    1. He's a ref so he knows the rules. (I'll get to this in a sec)
    2. He's a Pitt native.
    3. If you like football, it's virtually a requirement to be a Steeler fan if you're from Pitt.
    4. He's a football ref so he MUST love the game of football, or else he wouldn't be a freaking ref.
    5. If he loves football AND is from Pitt, then said douchebag must be a Steeler fan.
    6. If he knows the rules, then he knows the loopholes to them. He knows that, if it's called an immediate TD even though there's a fumble, that Pitt can retain possession after a review.
    7. Therefore, douchebag can support his Steelers by completely ignoring the fumble so that he could say it was "inconclusive" during the instant replay.
(Swish swash, his hands are now clean and he gave his team a win)

Thanks for the impartiality. Most of us would be defending the Jets if this kind of crap happened to you guys. I don't like the Jets, but I despise seeing ANY team lose b/c of bogus calls while playing their guts out in the process. That's why the PLAYERS play the game- so THEY can determine the outcome, not the freakin zebras.

I just got more depressed. I just listened to the post game interviews and IAF said the refs near the pile were shouting "WHITE BALL, WHITE BALL." I hate blaming refs but there's no way around this one. What a ****ing heartbreaker.

The head linesman, #91, Jerry Bergman, was also at fault. He didn't have a clear view of the ball breaking the plane, and apparently just assumed it did and was too quick to signal TD. The correct thing to do once the ball is loose is let it play out and use replay to determine if Ben had possession when he crossed the goal line. It would not surprise me if he was from Pittsburgh area too. This crew is littered with inept officials. The line judge #116 Ron Marinucci, is the blind fvck who could not see Sharper fumble before he crossed the goal line in the Saints game last year, even though he had a close and clear unobstructed view.

He's very much at fault. He should of talked it over with the other refs. You know, the 2 refs in the endzone actually doing their job by letting it play out, and actually called the play a fumble. The ****ing line judge couldn't even see the play from his angle, but the 2 guys in the endzone did, and like I said, ruled it a fumble. That didn't happen though, he went straight to the Pittsburgh Native who quickly gave his hometown team the TD.

That's the question I have too. The League is saying the refs made the right call based on the circumstances. What they aren't saying is what pisses me off the most. They blew the call, they should own up to it!!!:cursing:

Yeah, I suppose anytime there's a scrum for a fumbled ball, they'll have to check the video to determine who has the ball, otherwise it still belongs with the offense.

Did anyone see the NFL Network's highlights of the game? They didn't show the fumble play in its entirety and the commentary was just comical... but I guess that's usually the case with a group that includes Jamie Dukes.

My biggest problem with the whole thing came before the replay challenge, my problem is with how the incorrect call was made in the first place.

When Ben dove toward the end zone and then fumbled, the Head Linesman official (Jerry Birdman or something like that according to Dierdorf?) ran down the goal line signaling touchdown. At the same time a pile ensued for the fumbled ball with the two officials in the end zone blowing their whistles and ready to sort out possession of the ball.

Referee Gene Steratore comes to the goal line, looks at the head linesman signaling touchdown and listens for half a second to what he says, immediately turns his back to the action and announces "The runner with possession of the ball broke the plane prior to losing the ball". Two officials still in the end zone sorting out the pile.

The referee took less time than it takes to blow a whistle to decide on the call and only checked with one member of his officiating crew. The one member of the crew who made the wrong call. He didn't conference with the rest of the crew to get multiple vantage points and get the correct call the first time.

The call was made in a hurried fashion relying on the one official whose view of the ball was blocked out by the body of the runner.

    It was the wrong call.

If the right call was made to begin with, there would be nothing to review and no need for video evidence to see who came up with the fumble. Alama-Francis emerged from the pile with the football, touchback, Dolphins ball on the 20, end of game.

    Dolphins 22 Steelers 20.

Here is the thing to me, why is this game even close enogh to be put in the ref's hands?? I know they blew the call, absolutely they did...but while I am concerned about that ovbiously....how about punch the ball into the endzone on the 1st 2 series and this is a non-factor....Coach Henning was content with 3 points on both of those turnovers....You have Brandon Marshall iso'd 1-1 on 3rd down, and dont throw to him??........Ben fumbles, recovered on the Pit 13 going in surely a touchdown right.....nope 3 runs off tackle....head scratcher....

Please for the love of God fire this guy, he passes when he should run, runs when he should be passing....the run game was starting to take shape, after finally getting some nice yardage from Williams late in the game as Pitts defense was starting to get tired...and he is having Henne roll out on 3rd and 2 ugh??

I think Henne played well again yesterday, he was looking off some receivers, showed some things.....

3 Things of dire concern for me.....

--It is clear they need to use a roster spot for a kicker that can u know...KICK A BALL INTO THE END ZONE!!!!! Keep Carpenter on for FG's but they desperatly need an upgrade in KO's...

--Ronnie Brown is just awful this year, he is slow, and cant get out of his own way, enjoy his last year in Miami...

--Pads you are right lets start seeing more of Lil' Beast.....I have had it with Hartline, all up on Twitter tweeting, jet-sking......get me somebody in there that the ball doenst magically pop out of his hands...

ur rite, our coaching staff is a joke beyond belief, they are content with fgs rather than td, they mite as well just take knees every time they get down their and kick fgs.

that being said, we still should have won despite those mistakes.

They covered it up with the BS statements following that it was "inconclusive" who had the ball.

They NEVER review who has possession of the ball on a fumble. Especially not when the field judges closest to the play call Miami ball.

But apparently this guy V decided this was to be the exception because his hometown team needed 3 points and a do-over.

Of course the call was made in a hurried fashion. Steratore couldn't follow the rulebook by letting the loose ball play out and gathering with all the refs, that would put his hometown Steelers in big danger of losing the game.

I want to say a few things before I lose it again....

Miami did not lose the game just because of that call...they lost becuase they could not get off the field on 3rd and longs all day
They lost becuase you cannot win a game kicking 5 FGs in 6 trips to the Red Zone
They lost because they gave up some huge returns in the return game at the worst times
Thay lost because they could not convert and 3rd and 2 with the lead on a play that took too long and cost them a chance to add points to the lead....

Now with that being said....I thought I had lost most of my anger with the BLATANT HORRIFIC WASTE OF A CALL thill I had to read the Referee come up witht he lamest excuses of why what happened occurred. The League is a joke...the officials are a joke...the Spokesmen for the league are a joke..the ex head of officials Mike Periea is a joke. According to all of them...they got it right and had no choice but to rule the way they did...REALLY????

How many fumble recoveries have had to be reviewed to see who got the ball so far this year? NONE
    IN the previous 5 years???...NONE
All over the radio and TV today..noone could come up with a instance where a video review was needed...you know why???..BECAUSE THE GUYS ON THE FIELD DECIDE IT..THATS WHY!!!!!!

The Referee says it was such a scrum we could not get a good look or decide.
Could someone please ask him why? Please? You know why they did not get a good look? They saw TD and said no need to worry about the possesion...why bother? Show me anywhere in any explanation the answer to why they did not get a good look...show me

Just come out...stop making excuses...stop hiding behind "we had no clear video" Just say it..WE SCREWED UP...WE ALL STOPPED DOING OUR JOB BECAUSE WE THOUGHT IT WAS A TD...AFTER THE FACT WE REALIZED WE NEVER PAID CLOSE ENOUGH ATTENTION TO WHO REALLY GOT THE BALL

    GUTLESS COWARDS..THE REFEREE...THE LEAGUE...GOODELL..

They are in the offices today in hiding..hoping..praying that all this just goes away...LETS ALL JUST MOVE ON...I GET SICK ALL OVER AGAIN

At least Hochuli two years ago in Broncos/Chargers game was man enough to admit he was wrong, and the next year the rule was modified in an effort to fix it.

This has to be the first time in the 90 year history of the NFL a fumble recovery was ruled "inconclusive".

A lot of media outlets today covering the controversy are echoing the referee that they did not determine possession on the field because the play was ruled a touchdown. But that is wrong... as the crooked referee is announcing the careless incorrect call there were two officials in the end zone sorting through the pile.

So much bull**** in one play.

"Dolphins should have made more plays to win, score TD instead of FG, got the ball back, blah blah blah." Fact is the Dolphins DID make enough plays to win the game, Chris Clemens forced a goal line fumble recovered by Alama-Francis. Just like we did when we beat the Bills, Vikings, and Packers.

Maybe we should expect the Dolphins to score a touchdown on every possession, that way the referees have no chance to screw us over.

Or maybe we should expect the referees to get the damn call right!!!

If the media is siding with the ref than that is proof positive that they really are against teams that aren't in the northeast. A blind man could see that that play was officiated incorrectly. You just don't whistle plays dead when there is a possible fumble. That is common sense.

it happens every ****in time to us and im sick to my stomach. once we think we have momentum, although i knew once we kicked the fg we lost, we cant ****in make a tackle and have them deep in their own territory. it pisses me off.:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:
