Does anyone have the game DVR'd?....... Specifically for 5:49 in the 1st quarter when Ben completes a 7 yard pass to Moore for a 1st down on 3rd and 7. I could've swore the refs gave him at least an extra foot on the spot. If so, who was the ref? If this is the case, then that was huge b/c Pitt drives an extra 76 yards for a FG instead of punting and giving us good field position. We'd be up 6-0, and I doubt history repeats itself with Hartline's fumble. Instead the series of events causes us to be down 10-6. I don't like to get caught up with "what if", but I am curious about the spot and the ref who spotted it.
the ref was Mewelde Moores ex babysitters father who owed Mewelde Moore's grandfather $1000 from a poker game from 1994...
lol, i remember this play...he was (clearly) a yard short but got the 1st. Weird how the announcers didn't say anything about it.
It was more like a yard in Pitts favor the spot should have been right at the 0 on the field number not well past it.
Just making sure I wasn't crazy...... now we just need to find out who the ref was. LOL. Chalk the refs up for 13 points in the Steelers favor. 2 FGs and the TD that resulted from Hart's fumble that would've never happened if the spot were correct.
Yes it was a terrible spot. Also, someone please let me know if you saw a Steeler touch Koa Misi on Rapistburger's 1st quarter fumble. Misi dove on the ball, no Steelers touched him, so he got up and ran to the end zone. Once he was getting up however that's when the referee came in blowing his whistle to mark him down. A Steeler came by and put his hands on Karlos Dansby as if to "down" him... but Misi had the ball. The ruling may have been Misi "gave himself up" when he stayed on the ground, but that's another controversial call from what I saw. Doesn't make any difference, I know, we still got a L and that's not going to change.
I personally thought they gave him a little extra on the spot but that is one of those things. Spotting the ball is an inexact science.
