It's that time. Get your votes in. Me personally, will be voting for Wake, Long, Marshall, Dansby, Davis, and Polite. http://www.nfl.com/probowl/ballot
MArshall and Long are locks. Would love to see Vontae get some love but you know its going to be Revis and champ Bailey as the starters regardless of how good they've been
I think the ones on the team that for sure deserve it to this point are Long, Wake and Bess. The ones on the bubble and could move into or out of contention are Marshall, Dansby, Carey, Berger, Carpenter and Davis.
He got robbed last year, so he gets my vote. And you have to vote for 3 FB's, so, yea. I did forget Carpenter though. And while I love Bess, I can't really put him in over Anquan Boldin and Andre Johnson.
If you catch crap, then the people throwing are in the wrong. Polite hasn’t been very good at all. I’d be hard pressed to vote for anyone in our backfield, raging homerism or not.
Wake.. 20 tackles 6.5 sacks 1 forced fumble Harrison. 4 tackles 5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles 1 interception 3 passes defended Phillips 27 tackles 7 sacks 1 interception, 1touchdown 6 passes defended ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Dansby doesn't even compare to the top inside linebackers in the AFC.....EXAMPLE Dansby 43 tackles 1 sack Timmons 62 tackles 3 sacks 4 passes defended 1 interception 1 forced fumble Mayo 72 tackles 1 sack Tulloch 71 tackles 4 passes defended 1 interception Lewis 60 tackles 2 sacks 4 passes defended 1 interception 1 forced fumble Burnett 38 tackles 5 sacks 5 passes defended 2 forced fumbles Ryans 54 tackles 1 sack Johnson 49 tackles 6 passes defended 1 interception 1 touchdown 1 forced fumble You can't seriously take Dansby over any of the above
Not so sure about Carpenter His kickoffs can be problematic Top kickoff specialists such as Janikowski...has 20 touchbacks...69 yard kickoff average Cundiff has 18 touchbacks...73 yard kickoff average Gostkowski has 14 touchbacks...70.3 yard kickoff average Carpenter has 6 touchbacks...66.6 yard kickoff average Average starting point for opposing teams is 30.1 yards worse out of the top 18 kickers in the afc...but this could also be because of our terrible special teams play...but on the other hand if Carpenter was kicking touchbacks like Janikowski ...you would eliminate the opportunity for special teams screw ups His field goal kicking is comparable after the last game with his 5 field goals before that he wasn't even in the mix. Carpenter has 13 field goals(87 % average) and 10 extra points ....Scobie has 13 field goals (100% average)and 13 extra points ...Bironas has 14 field goals (93% average) and 21 extra points ...Janikowski 15 field goals(75% average) and 18 extra points Carpenter is in the top of AFC field goal kickers due to that 1 game but his kickoffs are not
He's been down right atrocious in pass protection all year and he's missed his targets lead blocking quite often which has really hurt our running game.
Dansby has not been asked to blitz that much. I'll take a potted plant over Mayo. He is the definition of "just a guy", I don't care what his numbers say.
so we are 3and3 and you think we have a possible 9 probowlers!!!!!! wake bess and davis - 3 at the very most
Long and Wake for sure. Bess would be my next choice, followed by Davis (although, he has disappeared a bit of late). And, it'd be hard not to include Marshall and Dansby just based on who they are and what bring to the table. Think I'd have to wait and see how the games play out for the next 2-3 weeks before casting any votes though. When does the voting close out anyway?
I'm thinking John Beck, Ted Ginn, L. J. Shelton, and Jesse Chatman. I hope some idiot like Bill Parcells doesn't come in and destroy this power team and in three years bring in some jokers like Chad Henne, Brandon Marshall, Jake Long, and Karlos Dansby.
Bess? Come on, i love him too, but pro bowl? Marshall will get into the pro bowl by reputation alone (oh and hes probably going to have 100+ receptions too) So will Long (that, and hes the best LT in the game) Wake will get in. Davis has a chance. If this offense doesnt fix their redzone issues, carpenter will be the highest scoring player in the league, so he has a very serious chance of getting in.
I voted for Wake, Davis, Long Marshal, and Carpenter. I guess I will get kicked out of the Jets fan club
I'm a football fan. I voted for who I thought deserved it, regardless of team. It's the way it should be done.
What Jets did you pick out of curiosity? It pained me, but LT is playing so well right now. I still wonder if he will live up to his action figure later in the season, but for now the man is on fire. Did anyone pick a single Bill? I think even putting aside Phins homerism I would be hard pressed to pick a single one lol. I do agree with Dupree though, this is way to early to pick the pro bowl, we haven't even played half the freaking season.
The mind of a professional athlete, to take a step back in your craft, at this level, when your in your prime, confuses the hell out of me,whenever I hear that term, I can't imagine why, and how, when it come's to playing football.
Marshall, Long, Wake, and Davis IMO are ones that should definitely get in. Dansby and Polite are maybes. Polite mainly because he got snubbed last year and people seem to vote on last year's performance moreso than this year's performance (at least for fullbacks).
If Revis goes in then that will be an injustice...Leon Hall should go along with Vontae. Vote for the guys that deserve it and there is a chance that logic will outweigh popularity/ignorance.
