Yeah, can't wait for this one... Looks like it's going to be fantastic! http://blogs.amctv.com/the-walking-dead/
i was never a fan of comics until a friend lent me the first six trades of The Walking Dead. It truly is a great read. The author has also been working really closely with production so hopefully it will stay true to form.

Sunday Night! Have not been this excited for a show in a long time. Excellent books, which I hope makes for awesome TV.
An advance copy leaked out online a week ago. I like it. It's slow moving, but man the end of that first episode is making me drool in anticipation for what happens next.
Just finished watching it. Slow moving is right. However, it's a series not a movie, so I get it. Plus it's an introduction into the world. For what it was, I liked it. Plus I'm excited to see where it goes.
My problem with it is the sound. I have to turn it up real loud to hear it because the sound is so low. Then the commercials are so loud. Also I'm halfway through the first episode replay. Do they ever explain what happened to the people? I'm not sure I missed it or not.
Maybe someone can answer this for me; Did this ripoff 28 Days Later or did 28 Days Later ripoff this? The whole "wake up from a coma only to find the zombie apocalypse" has been done, I think. But it was a solid first episode. The first one is usually the worst in the series, because they have to set everything up. Nice to see Norman Reedus is gonna be in it.
Yep, I was thinking the same thing. Dude wakes up going, "wtf?" in an abandoned hospital. I thought it was interesting that they picked Atlanta and surrounding areas as the prime location. Looking forward to the next episode.
Well, 28 Days came out in 2002, Walking Dead comics didn't start until 2003, so I guess this ripped it off. Just me, or does EVERY zombie movie start off the same way? The only zombie movie to ever explain how it was they got in the predicament from the start was 'I am Legend' (bogus cure for cancer), which wasn't really a zombie movie per se. I'll still watch the show, because I'm a fan of the genre, but there seems to be the same basic element of the zombie horror: Survival.
Yeah, I'm hoping they have some sort of flashback sequence with this show. 2004's 'Dawn of the Dead' started when everything bad was beginning to happen, but never fully explained the reasons why either.
The Original night of the living dead did a pretty good job of explaining what happened right from the get go too.
i noticed as i watched the first 2 episodes that thie walking dead took alot of things from alot of different movies.it's all been done before so things seem familiar but i still like it so far.him waking up in the hospital and going out into the hallway reminded me a bit of resident evil, all the crows give it a "stand" feel, the part on the roof reminds me of dawn of the dead..lots of "the simpsons already did it" moments.
Kirkman says he wrote the comic before 2002, just never got things going until 2003. Who knows, and at this point, personally I do not mind it. Once the book gets going, it has been one of the best series I have ever followed. Its quite a trip. I assume they are going to add things as they go, I just hope they keep some of the big book plot points in this show. Great start, although like everyone else said, a little slow.
I liked it... Spoiler thought it would be a nice touch if he could just get in the tank and start mowing zombies down. I guess the horse didn't make it.. I think they jumped to his surviving family a little too early although now that his wife and partner are hooking up, well that should add for some meaty moments... are the father and son (that found the cop) going to be on anymore? The father is a good actor (liked him in that other survival series whose name is escaping me... too much candy blah)... Edit... Lennie James in Jericho as Robert Hawkins
I like the general idea but man are there some serious dumb decisions by the characters already. Why Spoiler Take a ****ing horse and be wide open and slower when you could take any vehicle? Why split up and go on your own when you could travel with 2 other people and have more people to shoot the zombies? And the opening when he gets shot is just ******ed. What kind of cops take of their vest and don't bother to search the car for more people when 2 others already came out shooting? lol Aside from that it seems interesting. The one cop talking about women in the beginning was pretty damn funny.
Right. That is for movies. The movie thread discusses many different movies and someone might go into that thread to talk about one movie and be spoiled about another. That makes sense. This is a thread for a specific shows. So yeah... Doesn't really apply. The show aired, therefore it's up for discussion. otherwise the whole thread will be spoiler tagged.
We didn't need them in the LOST threads. It was a simple system. Watch the show, join the discussion. Don't watch the show, don't open the thread. Worked for the biggest TV show threads the site has had...
Fist pump has been around for a long time. Never seen an episode of that garbage in my life. And proud of it.
There are just some folks, Pagan, that really don't care about "spoiling" the story for others... Sadly, just the way it is...
