I'm growing tired of sooo many posts saying the season is over, and we have no chance to be a playoff team. We can beat any team out there.

GODDAMNIT (a la Cartman), we're 3-3, and the season is FAR from over. We are getting better each and every week. IF this continues, we will be in the playoffs, and we will make noise once we are there.

WHY are some giving up after 6 games? Think the team is doing the same? Perhaps some should find a new team this year, and come back next season.

For me, we're going to the playoffs, and I'm gonna enjoy it. JMHO

I feel ya SouthBeach. The only team we have never beaten is the Houston Texans and we don't have them on our regular season schedule this year.

We can compete against anyone and if we start clicking and get hot at the right moment we will get into the playoffs. We are pretty healthy compared to a lot of teams and if we continue with this trend will have an advantage the rest of the year.

Our schedule gets easier not harder as the year goes on, and I don't think the Pats and the Jets will sustain their current success. Sanchez will throw more picks (opposing D's will actually hold on to them) and Tomlinson will slow down as the year goes on. Brady no longer has Moss, which he couldn't hit accurately anymore. That will shrink the field for them and close down their run game and short underneath passing game to Welker.

We are progressing nicely and will be fine.

 you know you may be right. i think we can beat any team in the AFC but Houston is our curse team. Can you imagine going on a tear only to end up facing them in the first round? I would rather face the Steelers, Ravens Titans or Jets then them

'Can' and 'have' are two different things though.

The 5-1 teams we've faced have all been losses. Each of those teams we lost to we'll be fighting with for a playoff spot and now they are 2 games ahead + they win the head to head so it's like 3 games ahead.

The only way we make the playoffs this season is if we go on a 7-0 streak (after the next few games) to end the season at 10-6, 11-5 (if we beat Bengals) to have a chance.

In all honesty, with the way this specific roster has played up to this point, that is not a very realistic expectation with this very mediocre squad.

HOWEVER, being that the schedule gets much easier, starting with Chicago, it is possible if we can even things out at NY and New England.

I think this is a bit of a loaded question.
I would argue that any team in the NFL can beat any other on any given Sunday.

Now the better question is which teams in the AFC could we not beat consistently. I believe that that question has a couple answers.
Steelers, Ravens, Jets, Colts, and potentially the Patriots. Could also include the Texans.

But the fact of the matter if we squeak into the playoffs, we could easily ride it to the promised land.

Looking at schedule 3-3 is not a bad record for the teams we have played but 2 of the wins were against the nfc.We are 1-3 against the AFC and the one win was against buffallo was hardly impressive.I think we win this week but losing to the ravens the following week will be the final nail in the coffin if you look at tie breakers down the road.

A loss tomorrow will end any playoff hopes for this season. Because if they can't beat Cincy there's no way they're leaving Baltimore with a W. If they lose tomorrow and still make the playoffs please quote this post and feel free to tell everyone I'm an idiot. Really in my mind the next two are must wins to stay in the picture but for now we'll just leave it at tomorrow's game.

You are right a loss tommorow and we can forget the playoffs.Tommorow is a great opportunity to put 30+ points up.We score less than 21 we are going to lose.

if we lost tomorrow the season isnt over. we have to win two out of the next three so it would definitely become much more difficult but both are doable. we need to be 5-4 going into the easy part of our schedule. if we are 5-4 we should get to at least 10 wins and then we'll see how the season shakes out

Ten wins might be OK if one of our wins is against the Ravens. If we keep losing to all of the contenders we might not get it done with ten wins.

if we lose against the bengal's, we should just hop on over to baltimore and practice there all week, we'll need every advantage we can get going into that place comin off a loss..

were gonna learn a lot about our team the next two week's no matter what happen's...iam lookin forward to it either way...

I see what your saying in that if we lose 2maro, our season is mos def on the line in baltimore, cause if we lose against the bengals, but yet beat the raven's,then we could come home for yet 1 more shot to play for the fans against a great team.

We have to beat a contender and the Ravens would be a great start. We need to win two in a row here. I still have hope this team can come together and turn into something special THIS season. It happens all the time. Look at the 07 Giants. They didn't start off all that well either.

true, but if we lose against the bengal's, then beat the ravens, then come home and beat the titan's, you'll forget all about the bengal loss.

That would be an OK scenario. Since the schedule gets a little more favorable after that. The key is we have to beat some teams that are going to be in it in december. The Bengals are not as good as those other guys though, I'd like to think if we could beat the Ravens and Titans that we'd beat Cincy and be 6-3. That would be a great spot to be in.

agree. we definitely have the talent to catch fire. whether we will or not i dont know yet. but if the light goes on for everybody and we start playing to our potential a five game winning streak isnt out of the realms of possibility for this team.

Because at the end of the day, some of us have been watching, playing, involved with football longer than many people here have been alive and the fact of the matter is, there a difference between a "fan" and a "delusional fan".

Losses to the jests, pasties and stillers...three of the better AFC teams is reason enough to show that we can't hang with the best....However, as you said the season isn't over yet...

Still not a reason to give up on THIS team. We are headed in the right direction and have a team that compete. We could very well be 5-1. It's all been said in countless threads and posts.

Let's see what happens the next 3 weeks before we point our minds towards the draft.

Are you saying that all older and/or knowledgeable Dolphans have given up on this season? That sounds a bit delusional to me.

In 2008, I did not believe we were a playoff team, even though we were. I was happy we made it for the experience it gave the young guys, not because we were going anywhere.

In 2009, I did not believe we were a playoff team, even though we played toe to toe with both SB teams. We did not have the talent or growth potential to do much, although it was a fun run for a while.

This season is different. I do believe we have the talent and growth potential to possibly contend IF we continue to grow, improve, and gel as a team.

So far, although I would like our record to be a bit better, I am happy with many things I am seeing. I find it hard to believe that others, regardless of age and knowledge, cannot see the same and give up with 10 games to go.

Sounds a little delusional, in reverse, to me.
