Greenburg say's that beside's the patriot's, were the most well coached team in the league, and that he loves Tony Sparano.

He talked about how mentally tough we are, and that our home games were close, really was givin us mad prop's.

Yeah, I know what he's doing, lol... Imo...He's plantin seed's on Tony Sparano..

He's not a stupid guy..He know's that his own coach is a ticking time bomb, and that grown men could turn on his lard *** at any time...I dont blame Greenie's obsession for for our coach, I love him too.lol.

Enough of that Bullsh%$, when is our new fresh GM gonna make Tony Sparano into the boss of the future..I know he's signed through next year, but iam thinking about locking him up long term at this point.

I know he bleeds aqua, I know he love's his player's, protect's them, and I know they love and respect him, I know he's got a couple of stubborn issues on loyalty, but Iam thinking a Cowher situation when it comes to our coach, whatta ya think?

For him to get his team right after last week, go on the road, and basically grind and suffocate the opponent into defeat. Was a very good sign..

'' In this era, Its going to take a special group of men to win in that city, playing in that stadium''

That was a quote I wrote when Parcells' took the job 2 and a half years ago.

I would like Sparano to be the guy to try and accomplish that great task.

I don't care what Mike Greenberg has to say about us when he criticizes, and I care less when he praises us.

If only Tony would coach our way to more than 20 points per game I would agree with him. Ten field goals in 2 games. This is not good Deej and is not a recipe for long term success. I think you know that.

I like Sparano too, but I still think there are a couple things that pop out to me that deserve some criticism.

Like Sean Smith this week being penciled in as the starter, then not starting because Tony didn't like him tweeting about it. What was the point of that? Overall, that hurt the team more than anything because we saw JA get abused on the opening drive. It's like they believe in this weird code of silence and they think any information gives the opponent an immediate edge.

The team still comes out flat in most games. It would be nice to see us come out firing on all cylinders once in a while.

Overall I think he's doing a good job, and what's most important is that the players believe in him. I also think that surrounding himself with a better O.C. should be priority #1 this off-season.

I think it's obvious D8 that our young corner has some humility issue's...whatever it take's to get the players head out his *** and into his craft.

No sense in signing him long term right now. If the bottom falls out from here on out, everyone will want him gone. If he is signed through next year, let the season play out, see what happened and how far we go, then possibly let talks begin.

I want to see this team win at home before I completely buy into this.

Havign said that, it is hard NOT to like Sparano. He doesn't seem to excel at any one given thing, but does appear to beat the basics into all players. Tackle, protect the ball, don't create penalties. Its funny how decent a team can look just doing the fundamental things in football. Once he finally swings the ax down on Henning's head and gets a better playcaller in the chair, I think we will see a team that is pretty much limitless.

Too early Deej, would love to see Sparano re-upped, but 0-3 at home?

We make the playoffs he is a lock to return, we haven't had back to back playoff appearances in almost a decade.

Beat the Ravens, we tie them at 5-3.

We're not that young on offense. It's just the QB. We have veteran receivers, a veteran OL and veteran RB's.

It's the philosophy that concerns me long term. Tony has coached scared to me since any expectations were put on his team. It was easy to coach loose and aggressive coming off 1-15 when nobody was really paying attention but his sphincter has tghtened considerably since then.

I don't think he's a bad coach, but this offensive philosopy is not going to work long term. We still don't really know if Henne can play or not. We have no idea whether he can put up 35-40 points if needed.

Except for the fact that he routinely did it last year once he took over. The low scoring trend is more of a product of bad playcalling and less about execution. At least for the most part.

Although I wouldn't be upset if Henne decided to quit throwing that in the flat route to Polite which seemingly goes for negative yardage each time he checks down to him.

I just don't understand why we don't send Marshall deep and force a ball to him at least once a half. Just chuck it downfield and see what happens. Give the semblence of a threat. Eventually, good things are going to happen.

I would like to see that once or twice a game, too. At worst, it's a long INT which is basically a punt...otherwise it's either completed, PI, or incomplete. No major harm done.

He didn't routinely do it last year.

there were a few games where we scored some points after being down big, like Tennesse and Houston, but I'm talking about a back and forth game, in the balance.

I'm fine with keeping Tony around long-term as long as they make him fire Henning.

He's got to figure out their routine at home better to compensate for the lack of a home field advantage..

I did hear him say after we went up 2 and 0 for the season, the team got a little cocky when we returned home, I also heard him say he must look into his gameday routine when playing at home..

I like that he is looking into different way's of motivating at home...he needs to..

Question's for you Pod?....what do you attribute the successes and eventual conquering of the college football world by the BRAND, ''Oregon Ducks Football''.

Why do you think the cowboys are on a disgraceful fall even though their loaded?

    I know, Iam crazy..

    That's how I see it.

Interesting to see if Henning is smart enough to see the writing on the wall. I think he is, he's defensive/progressive ala passive/aggressive. He's defensive as hell on his Thursday presser, then he implements the suggestions on Sunday (as best his stubborn mind will allow).

The point is you can be old in the body, but you can't afford to be a psychological antique. "A person is old only when he refuses to make the effort to change. That stagnant state is the only 'old age' I recognize."-Yogananda

But yeah, it looks like a given, almost a natural progression at this point...We'll see.:knucks:

my guess is that greenburg doesnt see the talent on the team. my opinion is that tony could be holding this team back. to me, his best move yet was bringing in mike nolan

I would much rather be undefeated on the road than at home. Road warriors can eventually fix their problems at home but I'm not so sure the other way around.

I can totally see us as the next 2007 NY Giants. They went 3-5 at home that year.

We have that moxy and we have that type of Tom Coughlin leadership.

Sound similar? It does to me.

    Insert:
    1. Henne for Manning
    2. Sparano for Coughlin
    3. Wake for Strahan

almost every high octane offense has figured that out. But if Henning is our O coordinator i don't suspect it will become a regular thing.

What a low risk way to keep a D honest. At worst the INT is deep. Way more positives could happen than negatives. It would open up the underneath, get some defenders out of the box on the runners.

I dream we would try it at least 3 times a game.

Hell look at brady throwing a 40+ yarder to moss earlier in the year, he was triple covered right in the middle of the field and it was still caught for a TD. How can you get away with that and not want to try it yourself with a QB who has a cannon for an arm. No i think we'll do a 3rd and 10 dump flat screen to Polite. That'll scare em.

i would sign him for an extension 3 or 5 years. The guy puts out the type of team I want to be a fan of. Tough, physical, never say die. We look like we have a perennial top five defense in the making, a QB that grows every few weeks in some part of his development and hopefully next year some running back and offensive lineman that can get our running game going effectively again

Knowing the psychology of Greenburg - it's very much like mine - he always sees the other team as better and is afraid to talk about how great his own coach or team is relative to other coaches or teams.

I think he's just blowing some smoke at this point, personally.

Since the free agency system was put in place after the 1992 season, 19 NFL teams fell below .200 (a season of 3 wins or less) to start over again. Their average number of combined wins over their next three seasons was 22. For Miami's current bosses, yesterday's win was #22.

If the Dolphins finish the year with a winning record, they will join only 4 of those 19 teams who had two out of three winning seasons after crashing down (no team went 3 for 3). Only 2 of those 4 made the playoffs in two of their following three seasons. Just a winning record alone would show the current organization to be ahead of the curve and worthy of locking up.

At the very least, they should be allowed to complete their current contracts. They break the vicious cycle which dropped Miami into the abyss in the first place: wannabe savior (JJ) -> major bonehead (Wanny) -> wannabe savior (Nick) -> major bonehead (Cam).

exactly, I mean realistically, from where this franchise was at, to average more wins then losses in the first 3 years, is pretty unprecedented territory...
