I STRONGLY agree with this, BUT I can't help wonder what it would be like with Marshall, Moss and Bess out in patterns. There is not a defense in the league that could even start covering that....not even close.

Probably has a good bit to do with the whole 156 career TDs thing.

Right....and Minnesota was full aware of how many touchdowns he has in his career. What a boost he brought to that team.

Well in 4 games he did have as many receiving TDs as any other WR on the team. But I'm sure Randy Moss was the reason for Minny's season downfall.

Moss is a team cancer who has proven time and time again he doesn't give a sh!t. Don't know why anyone would want this clown.

    Glad you are here Chris.
I have an idea to run past you.
I think Y-Bell is done at FS!
What do you think about moving Karlos Dansby back there?
He has incredible range, great hands and could get a better running start on blitzes.
I'll sit back and anxiously await your expertise in such matters .....

EDIT: Boy do I feel like a Jests fan.
I of course meant SS not FS.
    Okay, thanks.

Karlos Dansby would be the best safety since Zach Thomas.

Because its a low risk high reward move, how do you cover both Marshall and Moss?

    Seriously?

Randy Moss makes a bigger more difficult catch on one drive than Ginn does in a 16 games season.

You don't get a player like moss to return punts, he contributes as a WR. Defenses gameplan against him.

Ginn is a returner and nothing else. Maybe if he was returning every 5 kicks for a TD then we could talk. Moss puts up points, Ginn doesn't. Points help you win games. Speed doesn't.

10 years from now, regardless of where they are or what they are doing i would still take Moss for more money than Ginn, nevermind today.

I have to agree with your thoughts here, in fact, I've been saying the same things. The thing is, it was Ginns' inconsistent hands [or lack thereof] that got him run out of here. The rest of the things that go into making a good WR, Ginn has except for one other important item. I just don't think that Ginn has that extra something that separates elite athletes from very good athletes. There's just something missing with Ginn. Can't really put my fingers on it, but he just lacks something that makes him better than other athletes he's on the field with, despite his natural physical abilities....

randy might not be elite at running routes but ginn isnt very good at running routes.... how do you say ginn is a better route runner. And ginn has deep threat POTENTIAL, which he hasnt shown much of.... and moss hand are 100 times better than ginns... at each point in there careers moss is still a better investment than ginn

I never, ever once said Ginn was better....but thanks for qouting me a dozen or more times, that way folks do not have to go back to the OP to see it.

I said Ginn was better for this team, and if we wanted a speedster to sprint down the field to spread the defense then we should have kept him. Everyone almost unanimously said, "Trade Ginn," once we had Brandon Marshall, but now there's a ton of threads saying we should grab Moss because he's a speedster that can sprint down the field and spead out defenses.

Again, I never once said Ginn is in the same league as Moss...I just said for our team needs he would have done the job just fine and we wouldn't get all the temper tantrums that come with his 9 game contract. Saying he doesn't demand the respect Moss does is true...and that's why Ginn was almost always open on the deep route last year.

Qouting someone else's analogy, (you don't compare a Nissan to an older Ferarri) you wouldn't throw away a new Nissan either...they both get you there fast and the Fins would benefit from either.

    Good reply Keith.
Truth is though, Ginn doesn't force DC's or even defensive players to chsnge what they aere doing.
Moss does. The entire defensive scheme changes when he enters the game.
Tedd Ginn isn't even entering games anymore and never really changed a defensive scheme.

    this a ridiculous comparison.

Moss - Proven Clutch receiver and potential TD machine

Ginn - Proven ball dropper and under achiever

    Exactly.

We don't have Ginn anymore so why is this even a debate?
There is no point to this discussion.

    Point taken.

But Moss has done (dozens of times over) what Ted Ginn has failed to even sniff

Ginn was on injured reserve the first three or four games with San Fran, so his stats this season are essentially for the past three weeks. He had a good run from scrimmage on a reverse against the Carolina Panthers, but other than that he hasn't been utilized much except returning kicks.

    Translated:
He will remain as a kick-returner, and a rarely used gimmivk player with great speed, but will never ever be a bona-fide WR in the NFL.

Funny stuff, hard to believe you are serious. The only advantage that Ginn gives to this team, and it's fans, is Forum Fodder but,you knew that. LOL

A half *** effort from Moss is still probably better than Ted Ginn.
