I'd be really concerned if we pass on him and Tennessee puts a claim on him...Britt will be out for awhile so they would likely pull the trigger. And the fact we play them in 2 weeks as well.
IMO this is the key. If you think Miami is a poor organization then you shouldn't want Moss. I think that Moss will respect Sparano's character and straight forward approach. And the CP thing is huge. If CP thinks bringing Moss in is a good idea, I would have a hard time arguing against him. CP probably knows as much about Moss as anybody and he's pretty smart to boot. If CP says bring Moss in (and I'm sure Ireland will ask him his opinion) then I can't see anybody not going along with CP.
Ricky was talking about Moss on his radio show yesterday. He expressed that he knew him for a long time and quite liked him. IF and it is a big if of course , Miami has the chance and does claim Moss , it is hugely important to have some people ( Pennington, Ricky , Sparano )to surround him to increase the chances of making a positive contribution.
we have enough leaders and vets on the team where this wouldnt be a bad place for him crowder, pennington, marshall, ricky, ronnie, bell, dansby etc etc
nothing to lose. we have not had a dymanic offense since marino days. we have not won anything significant in many many years. why not roll the dice with moss and try to change things in miami? what is the worst thing that can happen? he does not try, he *****es? ok fine we cut him. he is worth the risk, he can give us a offense we have not witnessed in years, which can make us superbowl contenders instantly if he plays at full strength.
thats the role of the dice that doesnt make me hate this move. personally i'm against it because i dont trust the guy but there is a chance that the guy might like playing here. if he could buy into our culture and give 100% effort then it would be a great pickup but that is a big, big IF
When I read that, I got as pissed as you did. Trust me. But here's the facts, we have WIFE BEATERS on the team, as in multiple. One of them a pregnant wife beater. And some of them even seem like good guys! So at some point ya have to come to grips with the fact that these guys aren't here to be admirable humans. I wish it were like that but it's not.
Exactly. You know what? I’m willing to let Randy Moss’ taste in food slide if it means he’s not catching touchdowns for the Jets or Patriots.
It's like the LBJ commercial where he says he isn't a role model It's true. And it's true of most every sports figure IMO.
What makes Moss attractive to us is his role, basically deep threat, he would not have to learn the entire offense from scratch, more than likely he could have 5 routes and one signal to Henne and play this weekend. For other teams like the Rams, they need an actual fully functioning Wr in their offense and that precludes them from Moss imo, as why pay him if you cannot use him for what you need?
If Moss decides to be an a-hole, he's an outcast and that's fine, the attitude of a hired gun that nobody likes isn't going to affect the rest of the players because they're tight with each other and they're tight with their coach. That is NOT the situation Moss stepped into in Minnesota. But I happen to think there are players on the team like Chad Pennington, Channing Crowder and Ricky Williams that are good enough at reaching out to people to kind of get him into the team structure and prevent him acting like the kid in the corner that nobody likes because he keeps pooping in the closet and lighting girls' hair on fire. Either way we'll just have to see what happens. If it's true that New England isn't even allowed to sign Moss back because of a rule about re-signing a player you just traded within the same year...then I think the odds of him clearing waivers increases.
That is when one of the team leaders should have put an arm around Moss's shoulder, leaned in, and told him to STFU or we will head out back and settle this. But this is Minny, were meek and passive aggressive passes for leadership.
Exactly what i was thinking. It's not like we have mike martz running this offense. The porsche analogy is gold. Sure Marshall is utlized enough in targets, but 3 deep passes in 7 games. And rarely any red zone targets? Man you add moss to the picture and you don't start the air show immediatley there could be a lot of *****ing and groaning then Sparano has a sideshow on his hands with 2 talented wideouts. I'm torn on this one. I want him to land in Miami only if he wants to play here, and second Henning is willing to unleash Henne downfield and see what happens. I don't like those odds.
He has done it everywhere including in New England this season. The guy is a fuggin' head case. He shouldn't need to do his baby act anywhere but he does.
A little catering from Joe's should keep him happy on Fridays. Problem solved...... or does it need to be Martha's Chicken'N'Waffles?
I dont think its that cut and dry, unless he drops to us as a waiver pick up..The more likely scenario for him being here, is he clears waivers and Irish makes a run at him, and if that's the case, he's gonna want that last contract he's coveting, which takes away the option of cutting him.. Irish is gonna have to really want this piece to the puzzle to make the deal that Moss is looking for.
The Pennington factor is huge..they text and he has Moss's respect...He also could spend the first couple of weeks "Cramming" the offense for Moss..I dont know about his behavior but I am betting it would be a little better here than say Seattle or Chokeland...Just because of Pennington and he might actually WANT to come here.
I agree, but Sparano couldn't get JT to play nice, he couldn't get Roth to play nice....can he get Moss to be the motivated, great WR that he can be ?? I just don't know...
this is it right here! this is what we need to take that next step! i always wanted an explosive offense that racks up the points and how does this hurt that? thats right! its doesnt! can only improve. if marshall is doing good here imagine what marshall and randy can do???? lets do it!
What did JT do to not play nice? I know he loved Sparano and the feeling was mutual I believe? Not dissing the remark , genuinely inquisitive though... thanks.
The Vikings did not get rid of Moss. Childress got rid of Moss and the owner is not happy at all. Childress does have control of the 53 man roster, which allowed him to do so. But Childress is also a poor decision maker and made this decision purely because Moss undermined him. Yes Moss is an idiot, and his behavior was childish, but that's because Childress allowed it to be, Childress is a terrible manager of people and makes horrible decisions that alienate his players.
The Patriots trading Moss was a typical Belichickian move of slightly downgrading the present for something in the future, while still not sacrificing a chance to win. If Belichick truly thought the Pats could not win withut Moss I don't know that he would've traded him. Childress is a moron who out of desparation has lost his locker room and any chance he had of keeping his job. He is not an authority figure but a pathetic stooge who is bullied by his QB.
Bottom line, I dont think Randy respects Childress, they dont connect, and if Randy is gonna go all out, he has to respect his coach and be fairly compensated..Its just how he's wired.
Its "really ridiculous" is it? Thats pretty funny, considering that he has been targeted more than about 98% of all other WRs out there so far this season, and is on track to break his career records for both Receptions and yards...... The only place he is being under-utilized is the red zone, where he is obviously extremely dangerous. GD Henning.
he had both of those in NE and still wasn't happy. he's still a cancer, regardless of his performance on the field. Look at how he played at NE this year, and how he followed that up in Minny. He has talent, but the fact that "everything has to be perfect" and you have to keep him happy just to play makes him more trouble than he's worth. plus i'm not even sure he'd like the catering we get anyway
Even if Moss is unhappy in MIA, he would still be an effective decoy allowing Marshall and Bess to get open more. Moss has never played with the kind of talent of our guys at WR. It may even come down to teams trying to single cover moss because they cant afford to make it easy on Marshall and Bess. This would give him some great opportunities.
really? so much conflicting information going around out there. just last night during MNF they were saying that Wilf had nothing to do with the cutting of Moss and that he was incensed at Childress about it.
