http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...olphins-another-step-for-roberto-wallace.html Well, lil Beast would seem to be on the bubble if Moss is claimed and signed etc, but I'm not so sure about that as Wallace plays ST as well, and Moss would need time to get up to speed in the Dolphins offensive scheme and playcalling. Interesting that he is a good blocker as imo Wallace's real role should be as a Shannon Sharpe style Te.
If he catches that, they accept the penalty and the down is redone? Not saying we would have scored, but he most definitely should have caught that ball.
What surprised was Johnathon Joseph covering Wallace, I'd think they would have preferred the Trent/Wallace matchup, but the Bengals put their best Cb on lil Beast.
Wallace is seeing the field, he is learning under Marshall, has a tremendous upside. I would hope they find someone else to put on the PS if we did somehow sign Moss.
i would rather try to develop wallace than acquire moss. moss is too flaky. might be a one year solution whereas wallace might develop into something good and be a long term fixture. certainly at this stage moss is heads and shoulders above wallace but i'm looking at it from a 2011 perspective. i dont think moss will be here in 2011 even if we sign him. too much of a head case
Getting Moss doesn't mean you stop developing Wallace. You can do both. There might be less time on gamedays but there is still practice, etc. And he might perform well enough at some point to supplant Hartline. I don't understand the fear that always exists on this board when talking about getting a big time player because the team isn't "ready to win" now. If not now, when?
Don't think your boy is going anywhere Padre ( I like him too btw ). May all be a moot point anyway , but think Miami likes him enough to not risk losing him. Forsee some real contribution next year.
Padre...your boy looked like he was catching a brick that was on fire..lol you know iam gonna tease you about him until he does something to warrant your mancrush.
More like a medicine ball that was way to heavy.. I like the downfield blocking information, that is something Moss would not offer, imo Wallace should play more Te then flex out to Wr.
I don't think so otherwise they would have accepted the penalty? It wouldn't make sense for them to decline it if they could tack on 5 yards to a field goal attempt? Or maybe they were worried that if they pushed us outside the 20 would actually gain some yards?
I did look it up quickly though, and it's not a loss of down. Here's the link, which actually has all penalties, if you care to look: http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/penaltysummaries
why would moss need time? henning:ok moss, line up and go straight down the field blowing past your man and i'll have henne throw it up to you. moss:np coach,i've been doing that for most of my life as a football player. we won't be picking up moss for his amazing route running to the middle of the field or on alot of short outs.we will get him to blow past a guy in a straight line towards the endzone.
If Moss was willing/capable of blowing by anyone consistently, he'd still have a job. To suggest otherwise implies that the Vikes and Pats are complete fools, and I don't think that's the case. I think Moss' abilities have eroded while his reputation as a sniper has remained in tact. He's looking for a new contract, which he definitely won't be getting here. And one look at the potential free agents this off season: S Holmes, B Edwards, V Jackson, S Breaston, Brad Smith, Early Doucet, Steve Smith (NYG), Sid Rice, Mike Sims-Walker, James Jones, Jacoby Jones & more, the chances of Moss getting a lucrative contract from anyone are slim. I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. Unless I was playing Madden.
Just supplying the facts, Good Sir. The Bengals elected to double Marshall and put their top DB on WR#2. The Ravens will probably do the same with Chris Carr, as Ladarius Webb isn't a great match up, not for them at least. Hopefully we'll have some more effective ways of attacking that type of coverage, b/c I don't think Henne will be sunbathing in the pocket like he was against Cincy.
Yeah, his abilities have eroded, but he is still a better downfield threat than 90% of the othelr receivers in the league. The problem is that teams basically use him as a decoy and Moss knows it and why he does not go full bird on every play. Problem is, Henning probably would too. If you are going to bring in Moss then you have to commit to becoming a big play- higher risk offense, like Colts and Saints.
I would think Moore would be gone before Wallace. Moore hasn't been active I don't think since the buffalo game.
