It wasn't directed at me, but what the heck: I think it's loathsome. I also think that they should have fired his arse. And I think Ireland deserves a thorough beating by a pregnant wife, preferably Merling's. I also want to win a Superbowl. Badly.
Childress is hypocritical, Moss has to leave because they don't tolerate that kind of player, yet Farve is sending private part pics of himself to women who arent' his wife. Ya Childress we all hear you, but nobody's listening. Not even your players.
There is not one player who will "win" a super bowl Sick, if you preach team how can then bring in a guy who has attitude problems and only plays when he wants to play? Does that sound like how we do things in Miami? I was strongly for adding Moss, now, not so sure not because he thrashed a buffet service, but because his inconsistent effort is a bad culture fit. Even in New England, where he claimed to love to play, his effort was not 100% and I don't want this guy going ghost on the Dolphins when they need him.
I think I'd save the cheering until he actually contributed. At which point I'd also hop straight on the bandwagon
Which has what to do with Childress, should he police his own players for things that they did while on other teams? Like I said, get your facts straight.
Being rude to people is not acceptable, but in no way does it warrant a suspension. I am sure that there are numerous incidents like this that happen all the time in the NFL regarding players and their treatment of staff and contractors.
So Childress, who went out of his way numerous times to land brett farve has no responsibility to check into their past off field issues? Is that not part of the due diligence process of getting a new player? Someone in Minny wasn't doing their homework before signing these players. Both Moss and Farvre. Yet he's quick to toss Randy but overlook Farve. And if he didn't know about Farve's past transgressions, there is no way in hell he didn't know about Randy's, yet he allowed MGMT to sign him anyways? But now he has control to cut him 4 weeks later. So he had no input in signing Randy and giving up a 3rd round pick, yet he has absolute authority to release him? Something doesn't add up from the coach's responsibility of handling players. If he released moss because of his **** effort on the field fine, that is direct cause to get him far away from your team. But to say it was because he *****ed about a buffet in the locker room is completly different. Not to mention all the other off field character issues other players on Minny might have that we don't get word of that i'm sure some of them have.
So the message he sends to his team is if you don't get caught it's alright? Or if your brett farve it's alright. And Sick, you mean to tell me they brough moss in and gave up a 3rd round pick for him, all while knowing his past history on various teams, hell even when he was on Minny before childress was there when they don't tolerate those kinds of players as an organization? I don't buy it. EDIT: my personal opinion. He had a wideout who didn't want to be there, they keep losing games and childress needed to make an example to save his own job. But hey that's just my opinion. If you don't tolerate that kind of behavior Childress, don't bring a lit stick of dynomite onto your team thinking he's going to cure all that is wrong with the Vikings this year.
Odd report. In line with a former Moss, long since heard from, almost as if the Pats fed him lithium with his meals.
all i am saying is its impossible for childress to "do his homework" on favre, when the allegations didnt exist yet.
Football players are like Gladiators. You admire them for their physical attributes not for their moral or character values .You could say they are freaks in a way I personally would be most distressed if a a valued employee or sub contractor would be treated that way . But we cant place value judgements on how Gladiators act while they are still in their prime. When they are done and retired, society will judge them for how they act after football. In Moss's case he was undermining the coaches authority and negatively influencing the younger players and that was the determing factor in his release IMO. My main concern would be that he would not give his best effort against the Pats..a team he has expressed a lot of respect for.He has been known to do that .
Fair enough. I think it would have been intersting to see what childress would do if Farve lashed out at a caterer like that. I have a feeling the results wouldn't fit the crime between two players.
I think Moss when he was traded, may have felt as if he had been fired and I don't believe he dealt with it and is just acting out. Childress does not strike me like a guy with alot of people skills, if he had any he would have managed Moss alot better.
Why would this surprise anyone? If he's a d head off the field who really cares, but the guy does not play like he puts 100% effort so why waste time on him?
I have a ton of stories from when he was a Raider and how he reacted. Most were along these lines (including cussing out his head coach on the phone and telling him to NEVER talk to him again). But I also know that Randy Moss called my contact within the Raiders organization and offered his condolences after my contact's father passed away, told them that he would do whatever he could do to help (including helping to offset the cost of the funeral expenses) and has taken time throughout the years to periodically check up on the family since. So my view is somewhat skewed on Randy. Is he a loud, self entitled, brash individual? Yes. But he also has a very good side to him that I, personally, cannot ignore. I would love to have him on this team, if only for half a season. Let him run the 9 route all day while Marshall runs underneath routes. Defensive backs would have fits.
I don't want him or Merriman...low character guys in our locker room, no thanks, I'll gladly pass. Their questionable at best amount of on field potential here does not equal out to the negative impact their personalities could possibly have on team mentality IMO.
It's true and has been confirmed by several of the Vikings players (who then said they thought the food was great).
