Hartline: We don't need Randy Moss http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...e-randy-moss-110310,0,4919642.story?track=rss
spoken like a guy that sees his playing time going out the window... AND We don't "need" Brian Hartline either... for that matter.
We cant get enough balls to the receivers we have, how is bringing in Moss gonna help? I 100% agree with Hartline. We need to get the running game going before we start adding more wide-outs IMO.
Hartline is not really wrong, considering that we can feed enough balls to the receivers that we have now....just I can't see how Randy Moss would help our passing game, but I can be wrong.
Agree 100%!!! Maybe a runningback with a bit of pop in his step, an upgrade at SS, a TE that can stretch the seam, another pass rushing demon or a guard/center that mauls the living hell out of people. Don't need a mal-content a-hole that takes plays off.
Take the 6-7 targets Hartline is getting a game and give those to Moss and then you will see the difference.
Moss in 08 or probably 09 would have helped us. Randy Moss this year hasn't been very good. He only runs one route any more, has been single-covered plenty, and tip toes around the field. He could help us, but not if he plays like he has so far.
Whereas Marshall said the following: "Come on. Go get him," Marshall said during his weekly visit with Hall of Fame receiver and afternoon host Michael Irvin. "Let's go. Let's go. Let's get him. Let's get him. Let's go get him. That's my thought." http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/21070/dolphins-wrs-at-odds-over-randy-moss
One would lose playing time, the other would benefit. I expected both of them to have the exact attitudes toward this as they do. Nothing wrong with Hartline saying this IMO.
I concur, reading between the lines you can tell Hartline does not want to watch...Nonetheless, it is valuable to note that Marshall does want him in here. I see a serious push by our team for Moss...whether that is good or not...idk. Only time will tell.
Hartline is a very good player we need help at Rb and more help on defense if i was to add help at this time in the season.
Bring in Moss, then get Marino back from retirement!! Man, where were these receivers when we needed them 12-15 years ago.
Miami could always change their philosophy on offense a little if you bring Moss in, but you know that would be to much for Henning to comprehend I would imagine...
Heres where so many people and it sounds like Brian Hartline, dont understand. An inspired Randy Moss can FLAT OUT TAKE OVER A GAME. Ive heard all the Randy Moss talk that he was done....once before. How many times are you gonna get burned by that statement. Brian Hartline could not carry Randy Moss's jock strap when Randy Moss is playing with enthusiasm. And its that "caveat" that would make trading a draft pick for Randy Moss bad...but guess what? We don't have to do anything but pay him. How could you NOT WANT TO KEEP RANDY MOSS FROM THE JETS OR THE PATS. Its unreal how many people have no problem letting Randy go to either one of those teams. Hell, even if you thought he would do nothing...it would be worth the 3.5 mil to keep him from going there. And you know Chad Pennington is going to have a great deal of influence over Randy. And come on...really....Randy Moss is a diva, so what? A great deal of players have tremendous amount of respect for Randy Moss. He was a great teacher and tutor for Percy Harvin, who was LIVID that he was released. Do we need him? YES. We need him to give us that threat on the outside, we need him because between Moss and Marshall....the defenses are going to have to spend some serious *** time trying to gameplan against that. WE NEED HIM BECAUSE THE JETS AND THE PATS WILL TAKE HIM IF HE FALLS TO THEM. Im not dumb enough to think Moss on either one of those teams makes them THAT MUCH HARDER TO BEAT.
No way he falls that far in the waivers. According to Tim Graham's blog the Jest have declared themselves out of the running anyhow, and with their receivers already its not a shock. Personally Im not worried either way if we get him or not.
I liked Wes Welker's approach to this same question. It was something along the lines of "you'll have to ask coach Belichick"
I herd him say this live on the radio yesterday and I was laughing like mad. You could hear in his voice how worried he was about it.....
The Titans have a better chance at the playoffs than we do so Moss makes sense for them . And I have to believe there were previous conversations before the Titans picked him up.You dont want him unless he wants you. Hartline is not the answer we need to stretch the field although I am pretty sure the coaching staff thought he would be and maybe they still do.
With his 39 yards per game this year, I guess he hasn't been inspired yet. Why would he then be inspired with the Phins?
In my opinion it was worth it to find out... Remember his numbers coming out of Oakland...how many in here said he was done..was slow..etc. Yeh looked that way to me.
Are you comparing Tom Brady and Brett Favre to Aaron Brooks? Moss was on two teams that were capable of getting him the ball.
No, no it would not. We are already getting cover 2. I'm actually astounded by the amount of cover 2 that I have seen reviewing games recently. Everything Moss could do has already been done (schematically) upon the arrival of Brandon Marshall. Moss makes no difference AT ALL as long as the QB will not throw it to him and this QB will not throw it to him.
Too late for that. The FO opened the doors by not making a claim on Moss. If they did make a claim & still lost then the doors would of been closed. We will continue to hear this throughout the season depending on how good or bad this team & Moss does in Tenn. I for one wanted Moss because the opposing defense would have to pick their poison on who to double. I now hope he tanks it in Tenn because if we end up sucking & he does well. This place will go up in arms on us passing on Moss & will never hear the end of it.
