Peter King on Twitter said that one team was scared away from Moss because of the catering incident. I asked King if that team was the Dolphins. He offered a no comment and refused to say.
If we were scared because of a catering incident but werent scared of Marshall, Merling etc...Ill fn puke
This is NOT the news everybody is making it out to be. Right now, Biilicheat seems to think that Edelman is a better WR and more condusive to winning than Randalita. Sorry, even as much as I Hate Billicheat, I will take his judgement over ANYBODY on this board any day of the week. That goes for Ireland and the GM's of the other 20 some tesms that passed him up as well.
i cant believe so many people are bad mouthing this team because we didnt pick up that dirtbag. **** him. hope he plays for the titans the way he played for the vikings and raiders. you think that douche wouldve been happy if we didnt target him ten times a game?
there is morality and football morality. football morality is you give 100% in practice and on the field. moss doesnt measure up there.
i'm just glad we dont have to see randy moss giving tom brady a french kiss wearing a dolphins uniform at midfield after our next gm
Have you seen the clip of him completely and totally giving up on the TD pass last weekend? He's a puss that plays when he wants. Once again, he is a step down from Kenny Britt.
yeah, i mean people think its a slam dunk we get the pro bowl moss. the likelihood is he wouldve been more ttrouble than he was worth and probably played like crap for us
If Seattle had outbid us for Marshall you probably would've been here saying "the guy is overrated, he's a wife beater, he doesn't respect the code, I'm glad we passed" or some other such nonsense. There is no sugar coating that this was a worthile risk we chose not to take. It was a mistake on behalf of the front office. I don't have to dog Moss to admit that. If we would've pulled the trigger this board would be 99% positive about the move.
Heres what pisses me off even more...by not puttin a claim...we were OK with him going to NY or NE. Dumb.
I'm glad I don't have to cheer for this douche. Can't stand him personally. The headaches he cause far outweigh his production. Some of you may disagree but I'm really glad that they didn't pick him up. Receivers are fine right now. Just need to get a new offensive coordinator and we'll be all set.
Yeah, the receivers are fine. Let's continue scoring 1 TD per game. This was a no risk move. there was literally no downside.
marshall was a different case. the only worry i had about him was giving up a first rounder for the guy. 2 number 2s is high but more acceptable. the reason it was different is because his only crime was hating mcdaniels who i think is an egomaniacal jerk so i could understand the reasoning. plus marshall is arguably the top 3 receiver in the game and more importantly under 30 in age. completely different set of circumstances. better talent, younger and not as much of a head case. having said that all that i'm fine with whoever we pass on. the only thing i care abpout is year to year improvement. i'm getting that from thios organization so if they dont want a player for whatever reason i'm 100% cool with it
Maybe if we had an offensive coordinator who dialed up some throws to the endzone every now and then, they might score more touchdowns. EDIT: How can you say it's a "no risk move"? Are you kidding?
Except for, you know, devolving the offense into inefficiently heaving jump balls for Moss to catch at a 20% rate.
No. I don't. Worse comes to worse you cut him. We've already wasted a ton of Ross's money on stiffs like Grove/Wilford, etc., but they're worried about spending it on Randy Moss?
It is a risk. Just not one that helps your no risk argument. The rest is just you trying to divert from that fact.
Please explain the risk. It's 8 games. His teammates in Minny liked him and most wanted him to stay, except the shrinking violets who were majorly offended by the "spaghetti incident" or whatever it was. If he causes a problem you cut him and all you're out is some cash. Like I've said, how much has this regime wasted on the gibril wilsons and Ernest Wilfords of the world. But Randy Moss is an unacceptbale risk? Please.
Why is it a risk? If Ross is ok with spending the money what's the problem? The players don't care if he gets cut and Ross loses some dough.
Um… no, we haven’t. Grove, Wilford, etc were paid for with Huizenga’s money, not Ross’. Guys we’ve gotten with Ross’ money are Marshall, Dansby, and Incognito.
over 20 teams passed on the guy. that should tell you all there is to know about risk. if there was no risk he wouldve been a Bill or a Ram
Well, ok, but the point remains the same. This regime has no problem spending money and then cutting those guys when there is a problem. This should be no different.
I think the coaches want to keep the vibe in the locker room intact. Miami is a team full of team players. They don't want players with Moss's type of attitude in the locker room. It makes perfect sense to me. Not to mention that they didn't want to pick up however much money Moss is being overpaid this season.
Maybe the money isn't worth it to the Rams or bills who have young teams or team unlikely to make a playoff push. I thought we were trying to make a playoff push
Moss is an a$$hole inside the locer room and out, and the only reason people have put up with him is because he used to be respected. Of course NE and Minn players stood up for him; because no matter how much you hate a guy like that and want him to be gone, he helps you score so you bite your tongue. The mdeia conference with Brady basically told the story.....he said no comment then laughed like mad. They're all laughing at him, because despite his talent the massive ego he carries overshadows everything he's ever done in the NFL. This drama show isn't over....he's going to keep crying until New England gets to take him back or he's thrown out of the league.....hopefully the latter happens. I can't stand this guy, and I applaud 21 teams for turning their back on him. When he starts throwing temper tantrums in Tennessee, hopefully we won't be having this conversation all over again in a couple of weeks.
