Yes combined with an inconsistent offensive line.

    Yes

Very similar. The biggest difference is the lack of playmakers at WR this year, and no short yardage offense. Chris Leak had Percy Harvin, Andre Caldwell, Dallas Baker and Cornelius Ingram with Tebow in short yardage. Not to mention Leak was much more experienced

This team isn't as explosive offensively

One question I have is Addazio himself. Play calling and O-line are lacking. My first step would be to relieve him of one of those duties and see what happens from there.

I like what I saw Saturday. Besides beating Georgia, an emotional Urbie. I can't help but wonder if his health problems had him idle this year. Some emotion from the players.

I think our problem is the O is in Mississippi and the D went to the Ville.

That was a good beatdown by the Noles. The Gators looked horribly disorganized and badly coached as they have all year. The 3 QB system is amost comical in its ineptness.

Hopefully there will be major changes to the coaching staff .

The Noles look like they have turned things around and their recruiting should get a bump

Sorry I have not been around guys. Watching the Gators has been very painful this year. I just wanna mention a few things

    1. The Offensive line has been terrible and it absolutly boggles my mind why they are so bad. They have talent on the line. The only real guy I question was Halipo (sp) at RG. He has struggled all year. We can't pick up a blitz for anything and if there is little threat of the pass than of course they will run blitz.

    2. Offensive play calling has been so bad I really wonder about our offensive Coord. I mean I have seen three qb's all take snaps on a three in and out. Just make a decision and stick with it. I don't blame it on Brantley cause we are not helping him at all. Fact is we need a new offensive coordinator and I really hope he gets fired. No way IMO he will only be demoted.

    3. Kicking Game Its been pretty bad but a lot of that is due to an injury to ur kicker.

    4. Youth - a lot of young guys have played and while good at times bad at others. They are all gunna need to step up next year.

Also Dan Mcarney is leaving to be head coach at North Texas so congrats to him.

    My thoughts:

We have talent, but not that much on the offensive skill position side. Think about our wide receivers. We have Deonte Thompson, Carl Moore, Andre Debose, Frankie Hammond Jr. and Omarious Hines.

Thompson and Moore are both wastes of roster space. Hammond is pretty good, but Hines is a freak athlete and we have seen what Debose can do on kick returns. I would say our two best talents are Debose and Hines, but they never get the ball. Which leads me to believe our biggest issue is coaching.

The point of the spread is to space out the defense and get the ball to your playmakers in space. Remember when we had Harvin, and Hernandez or Cornelius Ingram, and then Murphy, Caldwell or Cooper on the other side? We would just consistently feed the ball to these guys. Now we don't get our playmakers the ball. I can't count the number of swing passes I saw in that game, which is what it's been all year. Too much hope that a sing pass will result in an 80 play drive. Also I specifically remember a play where it was 3rd and 7 or longer. We had trips left and I think one wr out right. We ran three curl routes on the left side of the field. ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME? THREE CURL ROUTES? Every single DB sat on the route which negated the entire left side of the field. Hell they probably could have covered that side with 2 db's instead of three. That in no way spacing out the field, it's jumbling it up. Remember that small box offense that some dude on TP talked about? That's the gator's offense all day.

Then we have the coaching staff trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. You have a drop back passer in Brantley who thrives in a vertical passing game and you remove almost all vertical routes and try to rely on the option and the short game. I thought they learned this lesson with Chris Leak, and it seemed like they had when all summer how they talked about how explosive the offense was going to be and how much the playbook would open up. Yea they lied. They ripped out about half of it and try to run the same 5 plays over and over again. And don't get me started on the three quarterback thing. I know Spurrier was successful using multiple QB's, but he was creative. With us it's if Burton is in the game he will run it (Seriously he's throw maybe two passes when he was in the game), if it's Reed he will most likely run it and if Brantley it's a pass. If I can figure it out I imagine other DC can too. Not to mention it never allows Brantley to get in a rhythm. Hey John go sit on the bench for 5-6 plays and then go in on third and long and save the drive. ****ING SERIOUSLY? Every time we ran the multi-qb system that happened. John goes out, we run and it doesn't work so it's 2nd and long. Then we run again and it doesn't work so it's third an long. Now John needs to come in and complete a high percentage pass. ****ING STUPID.

I end my rant with the offensive line. The unit that was supposed to be the strength and backbone of the team was god awful. Why? I can't wrap my head around that. My only thought is that Addazzio running as OC and line coach is stretched too thin and can't do both. Oh and 67 John Halapio is the dumbest and worst lineman ever. I took a kid with this class in the summer and he was ****ing stupid. Lazy too all he did was sleep in class. He is always getting called for a penalty for just getting beat.

Oh and what was up with the field? It was slippery as ****.

I would like to add that I've been a gator since I was 7 and I will always be a gator. I will probably go to the gator bowl, assuming the ticket office doesn't try to rape us. They wanted 60 dollars just for the FSU game. No way I was paying that much to see us lose.

Ok Guys please everyone kneel and pray because there is a very strong rumor that Dana Holgorson will be the next OC for Florida. I know Urban just said that he wasnt gunna fire dumbass but read into it and he left himself an out. Just a rumor but its been confirmed that he has talked to Urban Meyer about the job. He has also been contatced by Texas about there OC job as well

Florida head coach Urban Meyer escalated over the weekend and that it's a distinct possibility that Holgorson is heading to Gainesville very soon. It's an unsubstantiated rumor at this point, but one that seems to be picking up legs by the minute. Under Holgorson this season, the Cowboys are averaging 44.9 points per game, 537.6 yards of total offense (354 rushing yards and 189 passing yards) and 95% scoring in the red zone. Okie State has a 4,000-yard passer (Brandon Weedon, 32 TDPs), a 1,500-yard rusher (Kendall Hunter, 1,516 yards and 16 TD) and a 1,600-yard receiver (Justin Blackmon, 1,665 yards and 18 TD).

    Background on Holgorson:
Graduate of Iowa Wesleyan ('93), got a master's from Valdosta State where he coached with Mike Leach on the staff of Hal Mumme. Coached under Leach from 2000-07 at Texas Tech. Was offensive coordinator and QB coach at Houston under Kevin Sumlin in 2008-09 before moving to Oklahoma State.

Actually I think Leech should be reconsidered for Cane job .The other possible candidates are dropping out like flies.

Leech is weird but he can put up points.

The only real question I have is that Urban has always used a lot of running QB's while that has not been true with Holgorson. His teams do put up good rushing numbers tho.

Iowa Weslyan produces some great coaching minds and Dana Holgorsen is no different. He's a very bright OC IMO. He's worked with Mal Humme and Leach as it says in the bio but he's more committed to the run game than they are. He's also more diverse and versatile with formations. He does a great job creating match ups and offensive advantages.

I was wondering why Dana Holgorsen would accept a sidemove to accept another assistant coach job.

Perhaps Meyer was interviewing him to replace himself .Meyer apparently will take a desk job and Foley probably asked him to help find a replacement.

The typical candidates that are heading the list.

    DAN MULLEN

    Age: 38
Current job: Mississippi State head coach
Credentials: After having great success as Urban Meyer's offensive coordinator, he's done a remarkable (and quick) job of turning MSU into a winning program.
    UF ties: Former offensive coordinator.
Why he wouldn't take the job: Might want to establish himself further at MSU rather than follow in the footsteps of his mentor.

    JON GRUDEN
    Age: 47
Current job: NFL announcer/analyst for ESPN
Credentials: Won the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A very innovative offensive coach.
UF ties: He lives in Florida, and he has a pretty close relationship with Meyer.
Why he wouldn't take the job: He already turned down Miami, and seems to really like what he's doing with ESPN (and the money is good, without all the stress).

    BOB STOOPS
    Age: 50
    Current job: Oklahoma head coach
Credentials: Considered one of the elite coaches in all of football. He's won one national title with the Sooners.
UF ties: He was Steve Spurrier's defensive coordinator at UF for three seasons (1996-98) and helped lead the Gators to their first national title.
Why he wouldn't take the job: He's turned down UF's advances in the past, including when the coaching search ended with the hiring of Meyer.

    JIM HARBAUGH
    Age: 46
    Current job: Stanford head coach
Credentials: He's taken a struggling Stanford program and turned it into a BCS bowl team.
    UF ties: None
Why he wouldn't take the job: This former Wolverine quarterback may be waiting to see if the Michigan job comes open.

    BOBBY PETRINO
    Age: 51
    Current job: Arkansas head coach.
Credentials: Other than the NFL, he's had success wherever he's been (Louisville and Arkansas), and he's a prolific offensive coach who could definitely boost John Brantley's career.
    UF ties: None
Why he wouldn't take the job: He's got job security, and a lot of young talent, at Arkansas.

    KEVIN SUMMERLIN
    Age: 46
Current job: University of Houston head coach.
Credentials: Considered one of the most innovative offensive coaches in college football. His star is on the rise.
UF ties: Word is Jeremy Foley is impressed with him, but other than that, he has no obvious Gator ties.
Why he wouldn't take the job: No real connection with UF.

    GARY PATTERSON
    Age: 50
Current job: Completed 10th season at TCU
Credentials: One of the hottest coaches in college football at the moment, a real program-builder.
    UF ties: None
Why he wouldn't take the job: After turning TCU into a national contender, he might want to stay there and try to win a national championship.

    KYLE WHITTINGHAM
    Age: 51
    Current job: Utah head coach.
Credentials: Whittingham, an assistant under Meyer at Utah, took over the Utes' program after player left for Florida and didn't miss a beat.
UF ties: He served as Meyer's defensive coordinator at Utah, so he's connected.
Why he wouldn't take the job: He's shown he can succeed following in Meyer's footsteps, but Florida is an entirely different situation than what he faced at Utah.
