Sports Illustrated senior writers Damon Hack and Jim Trotter combined to forecast how the second half of the season would unfold. They predicted the Patriots would win the AFC East, but the Jets would advance to the Super Bowl and lose to the Green Bay Packers.
I think Brandon Marshall, Jake Long, Cameron Wake, Dan Carpenter and Vontae Davis are all worthy of Pro Bowl consideration. Miami has a lot of really solid players though because Vernon Carey, Karlos Dansby, Kendall Langford and Davone Bess have all been playing really good football too.
Oh and the Patriots win the AFC East but the Jets advance beyond them in the playoffs. How original. Nice to see the geniuses that made that prediction just looked at what happened last year and said hmm ok well the same thing will happen only a little bit different.
After the last 2 games how Dan carpenter isn't their kicker really makes me question how they evaluate players. Not only has he made 10 fg in two games, they were important ones too. Including re-kicking one in GB. Then kicking the winner in OT. For a team relying on FG's like we have been so far, Dan has been money and vitally important to our team. If he missed even 10% of his kicks that could mean out of playoff contention compared to in playoff contention as we are right now. And if we could have had a 2 min. offense against Pitts, Dan would have been relied on AGAIN to steal us a win. Didn't come to that but it was close.
Peter King thinks he knows coffee but he loves Starbucks which shows how little he knows coffee. King is entertaining at times. I do miss Dr. Z though. I haven't found a suitable replacement for football writing for him. Any suggestions?
I don't think Marshall has scored enough tds to be a pro bowler but I agree with the rest of your comments.
the jets in the superbowl lol. i guess these writers have not seen how the jets play when the weather gets cold and windy. well in order to make it through the afc playoffs, ur going to be playing in cold weather environments, something sanchez cant do. jets wont sniff the superbowl.
Yeah the Jets definitely looked Super Bowl bound. If they make it the Chargers and Bengals won't be there for them this time. I have a feeling the competition will be a little stiffer this year.
My preseason Super Bowl prediction: Miami Dolphins vs. Green Bay Packers Jets will continue to decline. Sanchez will have more INT's than TD's and the Jets will not make the playoffs. Pats wins the Division but the "Road Warrior" Dolphins will go to Foxborough and take them out on their way to the big game in Big D!
He has missed 10% of his kicks this season with that said he is second in the NFL with field goals made his only problem is his weak kickoffs with only 6 touch backs this season
Its All-Pro not Pro Bowl You really think Vontae has been one of the top 2 corners in the NFL this year or Marshall has been a top 2 wide receiver I like them both but they have not been really good not great enough to be top 2 at there position
Give him a little sympathy he is probably in mourning over Farve's season, he can't fellate him in his columns this year so he's stretching for things to write about.
His post specifically mentions that he's talking about players worthy of PRO BOWL consideration. Not ALL PRO players.
Here it is Mid - Season ALL PRO team and 3 Dolphins made it For those complaing about Carpenter not being on it....Both he and Cundiff have missed 2 field goals this year Touchback %....Carpenter 18%...Cundiff 56% http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20.../nfl-midseason-all-pro-team-awards/index.html
