Overall, the majority of Bengals fans were really cool. The problem was our seats were in the second level end zone, and there were alot of jerks near us. There were these 2 guys sitting 2 rows in front of me, and I was 2 seats away from Big Papa. They kept calling us every name in the book, and flipping us off. No problem with them because they left BEFORE Sean Smith's pick. Maybe they wanted to get as far away from us as they could.

The problem was this group sitting in the row directly above us. They were throwing things at us, and there were several verbal altercations. Then, one of the punks put his hands on Big Papa. That was a mistake. Papa turned around and pushed him back into his seat. Next thing you know, security was there telling Big Papa and the guy sitting on the other side of him that they had to go. I lost it, and they told me that one more outburst from me would get me thrown out too. I came VERY close to leaving right then, but I didn't.

Luckily, they let Papa back in shortly after the third quarter started, so he only missed the last 5 minutes of the second quarter, and the first 5 of the third.

I had a woman behind me before the game say to her guy "I wish I could pour this beer on his head" talking about me. The guy she was with wouldn't shut up at all during the game. He kept saying Henne's a dick and he can't beat any team from Ohio. He was just obnoxious and then he sang that stupid song after the TD's. Of course he lept up and left as soon as the ball was in Smith's hands. I was ready to start talking ****. Other than him, the other fans were good and I enjoyed it.

Byroan...Where were you sitting? Did you come to our party and tailgate?

When the jerks in front of us left, everyone in our section got the ol' na na na na na hey hey goodbye song going for them. I seriously was looking for that guy in the parking lot. I never got a good look at the people behind us because they were several seats over.

Welcome to Cincinnati...I guess. I promise it's not as bad at Reds games, or any other sporting events here in Cincinnati.

I've been to a handful of Bengals games, and the behavior you described, sadly, is no different than any other game. I can think of 4 occasions when I've been to games and someone's been able to jump out of the stands onto the field, most notably when the fan took the ball out of Favre's hands against the Packers in '07 or '08 - can't remember.

I will say, the Bengals fans in front of me were great, but stories like that are commonplace.

I work for Anthony Munoz's Foundation here in Cincinnati, and we sometimes go around to the lots before games and help with Christmas Toy drives, food drives, etc. and I can't tell you how obnoxious a lot of the Bengals fans are. I went to the Miami vs. Jets game this year in Miami, and the Jets crowd there was more civil in the parking lot; far less alcohol consumed; didn't see any fights (though there was a huge one in front of us in the stadium); and far less general hostility.

I wish I could say different for Cincinnati Bengals crowd, but unfortunately I can't.

Thats pretty bad but the worst is still Philly. The only time I ever wore a rainslicker and brought an umbrella to a game was wearing a Giants jersey in the old Veterans Stadium a handful of years back. They actually will pour beer on you not just talk about it.

Same thing in the old Meadowlands though Jets fans arent quite as classless funny as it seems, since the rest of their fans wont support the one dunce stupid enough to do such a thing.

They were pretty alright to me. One guy got a little snippy at me for doing my best Rick Flair impersonation after a big stop, but that was about it. He was mad because I apparently "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'd" into his eardrums. There was a nice couple next to me with their little boy who couldn't have been any older than 2, so I think the fans around us were on their best behavior because of it.

I'm sorry some of you had less than a pleasant experience at the game. My daughter and I were in section 311 and I'll be honest, the Bengals fans we were near were very nice people. My 22 yr old daughter was pretty loud at times, too. At one point this older woman sitting in front of us turned around and looked at my daughter after she'd been yelling. I thought she was going to say something to her about being so loud. Instead she started telling us both how much she liked Dan Marino and how she liked listening to him talk; that he was one of the few who knew what they were talking about etc, etc. I also talked a little bit with the people sitting on our right. Again really nice people.
After the INT, they all got up to leave and wished us a safe trip home.
Oh and the worst for me was that it was pretty cold. The wind coming off that river cut right through. In spite of that their stadium is awfully nice. IMO.

I yelled in one guys ear after Hartline dropped the pass on the trick play. He was nice though, he said he knew Yeremiah Bell personally and wished he was on the Bengals. He had an Eastern Kentucky championship ring so I believed him.

I believe I've seen every NFL team's fans. None, and I mean NONE, hold a candle on obnoxious behavior to the Eagles fans I've encountered.

Speaking of Bell, did you hear that idiot announcer call him Jeremiah? lol

I didn't have a horrible experience at all. Our party the night before was legendary and so was the tailgate. As for the game itself, I was fine for the most part other than Papa Pump getting thrown out, but after he was let back in, I calmed down. The idiots in front of me like I said bolted before Smith's pick. I think they realized they were either A) going to get the taunting of their lives from us, B) get their asses kicked or C) both.

Iggle and Jet games are nothing like they used to be. There's nothing like PSL's to class up a joint, and take the fury out of the stadium.

I'm sorry to hear that some of you had a bad experience.Been there in that situation.I understand, but the best feeling is walking out with a V and there is nothing they can do about it! Hope it didn't kill the whole aura of the game.....

There was a lot of that from different areas of the stadium wasn't there? I was kind of surprised at how well we were represented.

Our group was screaming the entire time. I still haven't gotten my voice back. When we scored the TD, we all busted out in the fight song.

That's why I don't really want to ever go to an away game. Sure the chances of being ****ed with might be small but you never know. It's sad but I find it true.

    These stories suck, man :(

Sad you can't go to an away game repping your team without being heckled or even physically accosted. Instigators should be jailed, seriously. Even if just overnight

haha I forgot about the "na na na na hey hey hey goodbye" song. That was amazing.

Im glad I got to hear about what happened. I knew they were throwing peanuts, but I didn't know the one guy actually put his hands on him. That's awesome Big Papa pushed him back.

Having lived in Cincinnati for several years, and went to multiple games (including Miami) and in every case I rooted against the Bengals. Except for the occasional popcorn, fans were very well behaved. However I was not crazy enough to sit in the end zone. Lot of fights there, especially during Browns games. I watched a 300+ lb behemoth drop his pants to taunt all the bengals fans, LMAO

I've been lucky enough to go to several away games (a couple of ones that ended up being historic, the Leon Lett game and Danny's fake spike against the Jets) and have always been treated well.

Now my family and I don't really drink much at the games and we're not looking for trouble or going out of our way to be obnoxious, so maybe that has something to do with it.

The Jet fans in NY could not have been nicer. The jet fans down here are obnoxious loudmouths.

This is how folks are in the Midwest. I went to a Colorado-Nebraska game in Lincoln a few years back, and I was wearing my CU jersey and I had no problems. Folks in Kansas and Missouri are also pretty polite. Maybe college crowds are different from NFL crowds?

I lived in GB when I was kid and went to a few pre-Favre era games. Frankly its just to damn cold to be an *** haha.

But seriously, its a friendly small town and that vibe does carry into the stadium. Great great town for football.
