Our OL is pretty good in pass pro, they're not great by any stretch. As a whole, our pass pro is among the best b/c we keep 6 or 7 guys in to block most of the time. Opposing teams have pretty much given up on trying to blitz us, they're playing coverage instead. So while we have 7 guys to block 4 rushers and Henne has all day to throw, its still a struggle b/c the defense has 7 guys to cover 3 receivers.

I'm screaming for at least 4, if not 5 guys in the pattern. But the one time we emptied the backfield and put 5 guys into the pattern last week, Carey blew his assignment, Henne got smacked, and he missed an open Marshall. Still, I don't think we can survive without opening the pass game up. Sure we'll have more sacks and negative plays, but we'll have more chunk plays as well. Good offenses want to be blitzed, great offenses DARE you to blitz them b/c that's when explosive plays happen. Our offense? It's cowering in fear of the blitz. JMO.

This was my point, not that Henne is perfect or Henning is the only reason or the WRs issues...bottom line the O is not in sync right now and there are more reasons than just any one of the phases of the team to take the blame...

It seems as tho Ronnie B is playing to stay healthy this year not to rack up numbers.

Henne is doing fine. I DVR AFC Playbook also and yes, he misses some throws and open WR's, but so does Manning and Brady. If you watch NFC Playbook you'd see where Brees and Rogers do the same.

If they put 8 in the box, very few teams in the NFL, if any, will be able to run the ball consistently. If they put 8 in the box and blitz the way to beat it is with short quick accurate passes and use their quick blitzing against them. Well devised jail breaks cure that problem quickly.

As far as Fabian Washington goes, his nickname at Nebraska was " TOAST " and for good reason. Al Davis drafted him high due to his speed but his pass coverage ability is piss poor. It amazes me he still starts in the NFL. That alone tells me Balt. outside of Reed, has little to stop a decent passing game.

As far as wanting Henne to succeed, you bet I do. Anyone that is a fan and wants him to not succeed is on cheap drugs. I am not saying he is a bad QB, I am afraid we may be seeing all he has to offer. I pray I am wrong.

As far as playbook only showing a few plays, well yeah, a few plays can change a game. Both plays they showed would have had a 99.9 % chance of being TDs. The next to last play I mentioned in the Pittsburgh game would have been a sure TD. Add that to receivers dropping good thrown balls, an OC that still loves the ancient Wildcat, a RB, that to this day cannot choose two holes the size of a buick and yes, it all adds up.

to the poster that says Brady and Manning misses those type of passes, no they don't. The ones mentioned were no brainers for an experienced and good quality QB. But we cannot even mention Hennes name with either one of those guys, like apples and oranges talent wise.

To the guy that mentioned Sam Bradford, yeah, thats why he was the first overall pick. I must agree though, wish he was our QB cause if he was, I believe we would be sitting at 6-1 right now. Even he would not have helped with the special teams melt down in the NE game.

If I had a nickle every time a QB missed an open receiver, I would be a rich man.

Yes they do. I've watched ALL QB's miss the wide open WR by either not throwing to them or under/over throwing them.

And it is perfectly feasible to mention those two alongside Henne in instances like this. Especially when the expectations for Henne far exceed the actual play of more experienced QB's.

I have a feeling that Marshall is going to have a field day out there on Sunday. Lets hope that I'm right.

What constitutes a "field day"? 100 yd game and 1 TD?

    240 yards, 3 TD's

Don't really think it's going to happen, but you know Marshall is going to break out one of these games.

No, you missed the point, you never see Manning or Brady NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE the receiver is on the field. Believe me, they would have seen these guys and they would have thrown to them. Now, overthrow, underthrow, drop the ball, who knows but I am sure the pass would have made it to the receivers in mention.

I did not follow Henne at all in College but as one poster pointed out, his problem in college was locking onto one receiver. Not taking sides and not wishing Henne fails, I must admit, I do see that in Henne. Also pointed out, we are facing from all teams, zone coverage. Locking onto one guy in zone coverage brings about mediocre results and thats not great but is not a bad thing. Its just a sign of a QB that has not or cannot change his ways. If people want to contend for anything, its not going to happen with someone that does that. The NFL is littered with past QBs names that locked onto one guy only types. You watch Hennes head and watch Mannings and Bradys. Two of them are on swivels, one is not, you tell me which one is not turning looking around the entire field. Henne did it some in Cincy so maybe its being banged into his head by the coaches but prior to that it was crazy glued to one position, towards the guy he had in mind prior to them breaking the huddle. Hey, I admitted, I want the guy do do great, super great. Its my opinion that MAYBE we are seeing all he has to offer. and I will say it again, I pray I am wrong.

I get your point and you're still wrong.

I see Henne go through his progressions ALL THE TIME. I also see him stick to one WR. I see EVERY SINGLE QB do these things also. All of them. 100%.

I have seen EVERY SINGLE QB throw to the covered guy even though they have someone else wide open. All of them. 100%.

Some do it more than others, sure, but ALL of them have done it. Henne, in his TWENTY GAME storied career, does it more often than P. Manning at this point, but hey, I'm a realist and don't expect Henne to play like P. Manning.

They didn't try and lure Fitzpatrick into anything. They left Fabian exposed because they wanted Reed roaming the field and able to be aggressive. That paid off with 2 interceptions by Reed but also Fabian was doused.

This week they're going to have to keep their eyes on that Brandon Marshall matchup, whether they keep Fabian as the starter, move Lardarius Webb up to 1st string, or bump Josh Wilson up. Doesn't matter. They can't afford to let that mismatch go, and so Ed Reed will be stuck babysitting Marshall. Of course they want Henne to force the ball to Marshall, that's where Ed Reed is going to be. If Ed Reed can't come to Henne because he's handcuffed, then try and bait Henne into coming to him.

Perfect, give Marshall the ball on a bubble screen then. One underrated aspect of a spread offense, is how difficult it is to tackle without your largest personnel on the field.

No, put it down, Henne is officially on a very shoooooooort leash. Would love to hear your explanation on why his Learning process SUCKKKED so bad today, would love it.
