What are the excuses? Dan Henning? Brandon Marshall? Brian Hartline? He sucks. Just admit it and face it. This team needs to release that trash and start Pennington. Draft Jake Locker also.
I'll tell you something Pennington would have done, he would have hit his wide open tight end for a touchdown.
If you think Henne is the reason we lost this game then you are lost. Did he play great? No. The D is the reason we lost this game. I think Nolan has done a amazing job so far, but this one is on his unit.
Its threads like this, that really make me re-consider how much time I'm going to spend here moving forward.
Congrats, only the 2nd person to ever make my ignore list. Thanks for overreacting and starting the dumbestbthread this season.
When you can add someone like Moss to this non scoring offense and just sit by and pass on it what do you expect. Might as well just leave the D on the field and sit around drinking gatarade while the other team scores.
Right now its so hard to put the blame soley on one guy. Ronnie had that droped 1st to keep the drive going, Sean Smith droped a game changing pick and Carptner (Cant make em all) but missed a Fg to put us within one score. I will say one thing though....I supported Henne like no other last year and had high hopes for him but when he throws he just seems tight, I see other QBs when its near the red zone throw the lobs and have thier WR go up and get it, I mean we have Marshall he can go and get it with the best of them. I dunno I could see Henne being a QB in the NFL but nothing more then a mid level QB at best.
Penny? What happened last time he played the Ravens? Oh that's right. What's his record against top 10 defenses again? 7-19 right? Oh. And then you follow up your already unintelligent post by saying Draft Jake Locker? I guess it's Henne's fault for the terrible defense, espesically in guarding Ray Rice. I guess it's Henne's fault Sean Smith dropped the easiest pick 6 he'll ever get his hands on. I guess it's Henne's fault Brandon Marshall let a pass bounce of his hands into Ed Reeds. It's also his fault Brian Hartline fell down on the first INT. as well as his fault Ronnie Brown dropped a 1st down catch on 3rd down. I guess it's Henne's fault Carpenter missed a FG. I guess it's Henne's fault the refs allowed Brandon Marshall to get tackled on a deep throw with no PI call.
I guess its henne's fault that hartline, brown, fasano and Marshall all dropped balls that hit em in the hands. It must also be henne's fault that Sean Smith dropped a pick six. Using your astute powers of ****** logic, obviously that means that Pennington and his noodles ARM would ensured that none of this would have happened. Correct?
It's not Henne's fault. QB can only do so much with a half hearted team. Some of you need to start putting the blame where it belongs. With the coaches. Starting with Sparano.
Dude you are crazy. You do not win when after 8 games your qb has only 8tds and 11 ints.Hell he can't even find a way to score a garbage td at the end of the game.Don't even get me started on that great pass to fasno at the end of the half.I could have thrown that ****ing pass.Face it he is a bad qb and the reason we are 4-4.A qb job is to get the team in the endzone 1 td a game is not getting it done.Give somebody else a chance. And why did they move this thread???
I love the stat heads - THREE INTS ZOMG!!! Watch a game once - see how the INTs happen before you start railing against the guy.
Guess how many times our D forced a punt? ill tell you, ZERO! not one. Im not a Henne apologist by any means, but if you dont think that he has grown and developed then you are crazy. Today he almost got a touchdown to bess by using his pump fake to throw off a defender. Oh, and where istat top 3 running game that we thought would help in taking the burden off his shoulders? This loss sucks no doubt, but Henne isnt the reason we are 4-4 everyone has their blame in this.
Mann, I'm down on Henne but this is over the top, if dolfans like Henne then great, I believe he is a fish, so hurrah for me, but a victory lap is a bit early after yet another poor Henne game. Give him some slack this is piling on...
And this forum needs to release you..... and draft a Jets fan instead. Anything's an upgrade at this point.
I doubt anyone here is thinking Henne played good enough, because he didn't. But the thing that really gets me are half wits like the OP who call anyone who says a good word about Henne as a homer. Just because someone else likes a particular player that you don't does not make that person a homer. It is just a difference of opinion. Saying crap like he sucks, he is trash, etc, rather than making objective reasoned out posts is what turns most other forum members off. Henne's two worst games rating wise of the season, have been the last two. The Balt game was by far his worst, if you ask Pad's friends, the stat monkeys, . It is too simplistic to say just because of his 47 QB rating that it was all his fault, though on paper it may appear that way. When one watches the game, and looks at each miscue one by one, and consider the circumstances surrounding them, then it gives a different picture IMO. The first INT would most likely not have happened if Hartline hadn't fell down. Even so, the int didn't cost us any points. The 2nd one was a tipped pass, that was a little high, sure, but BM's reaction to the pass looked somewhat half hearted to me. He tips it up and right to Reed. Partially Henne's fault, but not totally. The final one was just trying to make a play by forcing a pass into tight coverage in garbage time. The game was already decided by then. His poor pass to a wide open Fasano was his most egregious error of the game, IMO. Has he made a good pass there, and if Sean Smith doesn't drop a pick 6, that was as easy a play as he is ever going to see, the outcome would have been far different. Like others have said already, we left too many plays on the field. Some were Henne's fault, but he was far from being the #1 reason we lost, IMO. There is an old adage in football that rings true more often than not: When a team wins, the QB gets too much of the credit, and when a team loses, the QB gets too much of the blame.
This. Except when we win he gets none of the credit..... and when the special teams or refs lose games, he gets all of the blame. I don't get it. We should be a 5-3 team right now despite playing the top 4 ranked teams in the league and 5 of the 6 top ranked defenses. I'd take that any year.
Never thought I'd "thank" a Jets fan but this is true. I've seen him play probably 20 times (living on the West Coast) and have honestly NO IDEA what scouts see in him. I think he is terrible.
ummm..... I think he has a check from the Miami Dolphins with his name on it that says otherwise. Now it doesn't say "QB" per say, but I can only assume it doesn't say "janitor" either (at least not at that salary). Just sayin.
