This is from the article Hugo posted in his thread, but this quote by Marshall is tells me something about the coaching.

Now I know there are some definite performance issues, but I also think there are some issues within the staff's decision making and planning as well. They were severely out-coached on Sunday. Ray Lewis mentioned Baltimore forcing us to do what we didn't want to do. Baltimore executed a plan by the coaches that worked. This can also be seen after halftime where Baltimore made adjustments and took the game over.

If "we've got to find solutions and eliminate these problems we're having" - wouldn't that fall on the coaches?

It is one of the most important aspects to a winning team to have the players trust the plan the coaches come up with. Does this staff come up with the best plans in order to give our team the best chance to win? I am doubting that right now.

Now I don't think our coaching staff is terrible, but I don't think they put together plans that give us the best chance to win. It seems as if they plan not to lose, instead of planning to win, specifically the offense. I think Sparano is a great leader, and inspirational motivator, and has the makings of a very good to great head coach, but is his supporting cast strong enough?

I think Nolan will establish something great here given the time, but on the other side of the ball Henning has had time, but I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe he is the right OC for this team. He may have been in 2008, but I don't see it now. I don't believe he is bad, I just don't think he is good for the current Miami Dolphins team. Henning makes some good calls, but many calls are just . I would rather have a consistently good OC, rather than someone who is great 40% of the time, and terrible 60%.

I see some issues with Henne, but I would also like to see him with an OC that takes more risks. When you play scared to make mistakes, in a game as fast as football, that moment of hesitation will lead to disastrous mistakes.

Again, I know we have some issues on the field that need to be addressed, but I also believe there are some serious issues on the sidelines and up in the booth.

In the business world, when you have a pretty good product, and a decent staff, but sales are down, you don't start fixing things from the bottom up. You make changes at the top, and let the new leaders make changes to fit their new system. This is what happened with Nolan, and although we aren't "great" on defense, I believe we are on our way. I would really like to see this team with a new OC, and what he can do.

It's funny how things are read a different way. When he said it (and I was viewing) I thought he was talking about Henne.

......and if you combine your quote with the following statement I don't think you will think he was talking about the coaching staff neither.

That is of course if you don't think Henning is teaching them to shoot themselves in the foot.

It's part of the coaches fault, but also the players have to be held also.
Dropping balls is not the coaches fault.

They've all been inconsistent. Coaches, players, OL, receivers, QBs, RBs. If that's not what Marshall means, then it should be.

Doesn't sound like hes blaming anyone. Sounds like hes saying "we need to play better"

I didn't think he was speaking of Henne specifically at all. I think he was speaking of the team, and the team does need to step it up...not just Henne.

Well see I am programmed. When I hear a receiver talk about football, all that I hear is "throw me the damn ball." It's not my doings. They did it.

Technically speaking he is still placing blame here, just on everyone. Leading to this point:

And I fully agree here, that everyone is to blame for not being consistent. And forgive me if I sounded like this: but I am not actually saying that Marshall is placing blame on the coaches here, but the quote led me to think of the issues with the coaching, specifically the offensive side.

I have not watched a game this season and walked away thinking Henning put together a great or even really good plan. Now I am not saying it was all his fault, as he is not out there playing, and as I stated performance is an issue -- But I have just not seen anything from Henning to lead me to believe he will get us going as our offensive leader. I have noticed some flashes of great things from Nolan's defense, and although they have much room to grow, I see vast improvement from last season.

Now offensively, are we putting up pretty good yardage numbers? Yeah, but the scoring is pitiful. We have played some tough teams, but it still doesn't excuse the woes. And the quote made me think of how it is up to Henning to find solutions with what we are doing in our offensive planning, and eliminate the problems. Execution is one thing, and again, there are issues there - but in my opinion there has been a lot of situations where are offense has been set up for failure. As I said earlier, the plans seem to want our team to not lose rather than win.

I walk away from watching games asking too many "whys?" on the offensive side. I don't believe at this point that Henning is the right man for the job here in Miami. Scoring wise, we have not really improved in 3 years where we have struggled, and we may have even gotten worse.

Marshall better be keeping in mind that he's had his share of issues that have helped lead to the inconsistency. For example several drops, including one yesterday that led to an INT. Just sayin...

That's all you really wanted to say. Well that and the rest of the paragraph down on Henning.

What made the thread ridiculous is that you entitled the thread "Marshall Quote" and you attempted to make the "Marshall Quote" evidence of your ridiculous ascertion. Otherwise, what you have said could have been crammed in any other of numerous threads.

What would you like to see? Open receivers down the field? Because I can surely show them to you.

It is posters like yourself that are making this board less and less desirable.

I don't believe I came across abrasive in the OP, or insulting, and being that the Quote inspired my thoughts I thought it was appropriate. I actually apologized if I was misleading in the OP, yet you still chose to insult my thread and opinion. I don't think I tried to hide the fact that I am not happy with Henning, but I respect the guy and didn't want to insult him, or place all the blame on him. So sorry I didn't verbally attack him.

And just a little piece of advice - if you are going to insult someone's thoughts or "ascertions" make sure to at least spell "assertion" correctly, or you just make yourself look foolish.

    Again, stay classy Zod.

Marshall should look himself in the mirror.
So far he has been extremely underwhelming here.
I've seen balls flat out dropped, yesterday he had alligator arms.
I don't see the big play tendencies he had in Denver.
    I'm very disappointed.

hhahahahahaha tell him Pariah, people walking on water but cast judgement....thats awesome...

    go.
    away.

heres a clue P, so I'll say it, they suck okay, Henning is a joke....he needs to go, this team remains consistaint in one catergory.....being outcoached every Sunday....Henning plays not to lose, instead of playing for the throat...it makes me sick how painful it is to watch this team on offense...it makes me sick for that matter on how hard it is to get a freaking 1st down!! Every opposing player that beats Miami says the samething..."Henne looks" "we forced him into our game" "We played close to the LOS, because they dont go downfield, they play conservative"....this team isnt going anywhere fast with that guy at OC, and before everybody on here comes at me with "I'm a bad guy, negative bum" all I say is save it, whatever, what have you seen on Sunday to make you think otherwise...I dont respect him, and I dont think Sparano even really wants him around that much...
