Pennington didn't play much last year though, man. There's simply not enough data to compare those two years if you really wanna compare them.

I dislike the move, I think it sets back the franchise because I have lost complete faith in Henne being a capable starting quarterback in Miami... I think this will shake his confidence too much.

However, I do think that Pennington offers Miami the best chance to win.

Trading wins for the future is exactly what a coaching staff who is worried about their job security needs to do... And that's why this move is being made, IMO.

Doesn't necessarily ruin but sets back.

Thats it Tony...if it backfires you just lost your job. When you get tossed out the door, please take Henning with you.

It definitely doesnt help him. He'll be playing more scared and conservative, constanly looking over his shoulder to the bench.

I can't say I agree with this, however if magically our offense gets rolling and scores some points for once, then well, it was the right move. Sparano wants to win now, not next year or the year after.

I don't believe it ruins Henne, but I believe going forward it significantly fractures any faith the rest of the team might have had in him.

It doesn't, inherently, but I'd say historically speaking you are crossing a Rubicon here.

well the tape from sundays game must have been really bad for Henne, i´m still with the coaching staff, if they think it helps us win, then bring back noodle arm no problem, maybe the beast can get some YAC now when he gets hit in stride

Well, the Jets situation is a bit different than ours in that they've got to play Sanchez for multiple reasons. First, they don't really have anyone better than him behind him. Second, they traded up to get him high and have a lot more invested in him than we do. The same thing that helps Henne hurts him in this case. Why isn't Henne playing like Phillip Rivers? Because he was a late 2nd round pick. Why are they benching Henne for a journeyman? Because he's only a late 2nd round pick.

Is there any way they could possibly go back to Henne after the season? To put it another way -- barring injury, have we witnessed Henne's last start in Miami?

Prior to this move, I certainly wasn't sold on Sparano being our answer at HC due to a variety of reasons. Now I'm sure of the fact that he's not the answer for this organization.

So I guess this means they will be looking for a QB in the draft now too....

Honestly I dont care who start, we owe nothing to Henne or Pennington, they need to get wins, and it is obvious the path they are on wasnt working on offense...

Lets focus on winning some ball games...

Exactly. If Henne has any gumption or fire he'll use this as motivation and work his *ss off to get better. If he doesn't, then he never would have worked out anyway.

I've been a huge Henne critic but I would've played out the season with him. I do however, think Penny is a better fot for this offense and I think we will be better with him.

A flame was lit under Tony and the FO.

We weren't one Pennington away from a Super Bowl. But by all means, bring in Pennington to pad his stats against some bad D's down the stretch and take out Henne before he gets to build confidence by playing bad defenses.

Tall wr corps fits Penny to a "T", you do not need the bazooka when you can throw high point passes on time and on target.

And can manage to hit open receivers in the endzone.

Kinda expect Fasano to have a reduced role as well.

We are all freaking out but I'll be shocked if Penny finishes the year. So I view this as a temporary, albeit stupid, move by a front office I now believe will be jettisoned for Carl Peterson.

    Lame.

If, and this is a big IF, Henne doesn't work out. That makes how many round 2 picks?

If CP has the pass pro Henne was getting he is going to tear some defenses up.

Give a pro like him that much time and Beast/Bess/Hartline he will hit the open man.

nonsense? we hear it all the time from the coaches on down, the #1 thing they have pounded into his head since arriving is don't turn the ball over, don't make mistakes... the guy is playing scared and not to win. I'm no guru but that is quite simple for even me to see. I wasn't a follower of his collegiate career but I don't remember anything that made him out as a scared player. I do remember all the statements of his high energy in the huddle and of his live arm...where are those traits now? Henne just needs to relax and play his game and the coaches just need to live with his ups and downs or IMO, they should just cut him now.

Qb wasnt the issue sparano. Playcalling and running the ball have been the issue. God this season is going to end bad.

Henne was afraid to be aggressive as it was, now he may even be more gun shy if he does come back in.

With each passing day, Parcells' work in Miami loses a little bit of its luster (or in the case of today -- alot)..
