    There's absolutely no way that's true -- they're professionals.

    Even the thought is ridiculous.

A little high but not off target. Marshall puts his arms up and he catches that ball. As for that floater that Penny was so awesome for and clearly on target Marshall had to come back for it. Everyone has their opinions on this and we all see different things... I'd take Henne's just high pass to Penny's lame duck barely made it there pass any day. And as for touch, Penny doesn't have touch, he just lacks ANY velocity and that makes it an EASY catch.

ive reminded people of that myself on more than one occasion. People have decided Henning is the problem and no examples to the contrary matter. The fact they benched Henne, should prove to people that Henning wasnt the problem but instead they will blame Sparano for not firing Henning. The emperor has no clothes!

    See what coming?

That Sparano and company are in desperation mode now to save their asses?

Because that's the only way this move makes sense. It's a win now move so he must feel he's on the hot seat.

If he wasn't, he is now...... these guys have now taken two 2nd round QB's and made a mess of their development.

Pennington actually suits this staff better....... he doesn't need them to coach him. If he stays healthy he'll win us maybe one more game than Henne would have

...........and the silver lining is maybe next year's coach will be able to salvage Henne's career. These guys are done.....time for Ross to get Cowher and Chucky on the phone.

Look guys, some of us need to chill out right now. I'll be cheering for the Dolphins. They're my team. I just think Sparano is grasping, an offense built for Chad Pennington will make Pennington look good, Pennington playing some weak defenses will help him, Henning will do all he can to make sure he looks good, and I have waning faith in many people associated with the Dolphins. I'm reminded of the Panthers who just made their third QB change of the season as well as the Cards.

Personally, if we had a guarantee we could pluck Cowher off CBS, I'd take it. NOOOOO GRUDEN NOOOOO. If we could steal Ken Whisenhunt I'd love that too (they were together in Pittsburgh). Honestly, Pennington has less than 5 years of QB play and if he gets re-injured I will certainly send Sparano a strongly worded message with nothing but expletives. I'm really tired of his voice at this point. Well, I will be cheering for the Dolphins. And I mean the Dolphins players. I can't cheer for the coaching staff at this point.

GO DOLPHINS!! Chill out guys, we're all fans.

I think if you look at hennes progression you see him going from no ints to 1 int a game to 4 one disasterous game. You do have to wonder if its only going to get worse at that point I think.

    I hope you're right.

Well, it does appear the conspiracy theorists (no one in particular) are right about the whole Bill Parcells thing with Henne, maybe why he left to get away from a sinking ship etc.

Jesus, great, now we're the focus of the league in a week Randy Moss is on his 3rd team of the season. Tough to trump the McNabb and Moss story but we did it. Just great.

We win and Ross believes the illusion that this staff knows what we are doing. We win with Pennington and we are stuck with no future at QB.

Well, as screwed up as it may sound, if it's as bad as it seems to be right now, then it had to happen and come out at some point. The sooner the better, as with Cameron, so we can at least get the hell away from whatever it was we were doing wrong.

I agree with this move. I went to the Cincinnati game and watched Henne play in person for the first time. He left so many throws on the field that left me shaking my head. I can remember at least 4 plays where Marshall was WIDE open and Henne checked down to Brown or Williams. I saw enough in this game to know that Henne doesn't have it yet. He may be developing, but we can't expect everyone on the team that isn't developing to sit back and let Henne make mistakes.

if it was me i wouldve let him develop and sacrificed the season. but you need an owner who is willing to do that. I think Ross is demanding wins now and if thats the case you have to go with this move. Good short term, questionable long term

    Pure conjecture.

What evidence do you have that Ross is meddlesome and calling the shots?

If anything, this points to a feud between Parcells and the FO, which the FO is finally admitting.

But then again the blame Ross scenario is great at creating panic... Oh NO!! Carl Peterson is NEXT!!!!

Really because I think the only thing it shows is that Henning can't call an offense for a QB that actually has an arm. I think it shows that they are going to use Pennington in the offense that was built for him because of his lack of a deep threat.

You might not like Henne and that is your choice, no big deal to me. But to blatantly deny that Henning is a problem is very foolish.

I'm confused on this, seriously. Please explain how putting a weaker armed QB in with same coverages is going to help Marshall's YAC? Marshall is going to have to come back for more balls now and teams are going to cover him just the same. I don't believe for a moment that beyond 10 yards Penny is going to get the ball to him any more in stride. In fact I think it will be less.

Exactly. Which puts money in Sparano's pocket and maybe saves his job if that were the option. But if Ross is looking to make the team better, where does he come off making those types of demands?

Henne should have been given the whole season.

    Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?

Short-yardage plays. No chunk yards... Basically saying you have a ton of guys that can get on base, but none that can get a home run...

I like Henne and am against this move. But I also know we would be sacrificing wins in exchange for developing Henne. Something I am willing to do but apparently ownership is not

Penny will make those plays, this Offense is perfect for his limited physical skill set.

I seriously do not want to have to watch this team go through the QB hunt again... this is so F'ing demoralizing.

We must have been watching different games. Henne was playing that bad.

What???? Our front office do this! :shifty:

    Or he just see's it.

A lot of people here say this will kill his development. Many a QB have developed learning from the sidelines. I hope Henne does.

Pennington can read a defense much better? Because we can actually run slants now? Henne's arm strength wasn't really beneficial, because he wouldn't throw to open receivers downfield, and when he did, the throw wasn't very accurate?

Well with the no identity offense they run....how could it not get worse?

They've done as poorly a job with Henne as they did with Pat White.....

Our offense calls for him to throw 35 times per game........ per game. That's ridiculous..

Maybe this is the thought... Sparano realizes this offensive system is just subpar and built for Pennington. He tells Henne, "Hey, this ain't workin. This system is not getting it done. Rather than further dousing you in fire I'm putting in Pennington the rest of the season and will likely get you a new OC. "

Thus settling the win now while also looking to the future...

Inside of 10 yards from the LOS? Beyond 20 and it is going to be an adventure. Penny is going to under throw or throw up for grabs more often than not beyond the 15-20 yard range. IMO his YAC is going to suffer.

why is it that now that henne has been benched that everyone thinks his develpoement is over?when pennington first came in this was a great oppurtunity for henne to learn under a profeesional like penny and nobody said a thing about not "developing" henne.the guy doesn't suck but he is not ready yet and furthermore this team is not ready for him.2 0r 3 years down the road he may very well still be our future but in todays league owners don't want to wait 3-4 years to go from mediocracy to good.i fully expect that if penny gets us knocked out of playoff contention that henne will come back in to get his game exp.

Its only sacrificing if you're getting something out of it. If you aren't getting out of it, its just losing.
