At the end of the day it's about scoring points and winning games. Our red zone offense has been pathetic and Henne isn't getting it done. Yes I think Henning sucks, but that doesn't change that Henne has made some pretty poor throws/decisions in critical situations all year.
Penny never gets the respect he deserves, he just win's with his noodle arm. That being said, I don't think he's the long term solution. Hopefully Henne takes this as a kick in the ***, and when Penny gets hurt in 2 weeks he will step in and lead the team with more success than he has this year.

I don't know yet. Even if Pennington makes this season successful, what about the future? I have faith in Chad Henne, but I believe the current coaching staff is holding his talents back.

Generally speaking, if you're desperate enough to make this kind of move you're in too deep to save yourself.

This whole debacle reeks of shivering failure. Of being scared ****less. Sparano always says whenever the media guys try to bait him into criticizing the officials that it's his wife's birthday coming up. He can't afford it.

Well, I hope he got her something nice this year because this kind of move gets you shown the door more often that not.

I mean seriously. What's the use of a guy with Henning's experience if he's so rigid he can't run a vertical offense?

Oh, that's right. He's that rigid because he's dead.

I **** on this team this week. I hope they get what they deserve.

Hope the door doesn't hit you on the way out.

Nice, quoting me out of context.

The point is: they've ****ed this thing royally, and I hope they pay for it. That's the appropriate karma. I root against this decision working out just as I would root against this team if they traded for a guy like Ben Roethisberger and he was our quarterback.

If we go 10-6 and miss the playoffs or barely make them and get killed again we'll have only bought ourselves another '08, which without the euphoric counterbalance of 1-15 to compare it to is just another **** hustle going nowhere.

I'm actually looking forward to Sparano having to explain why all of a sudden we can't convert anything past a 3rd and 7 situation like we couldn't in '07. How does he plan to explain the fact that our situationally brilliant QB can't situation himself out of the repeated 3rd and longs we've faced this year due to a precipitous lack of running game and the total failure of the Wildcat.

    it is what it is
the foot-ballistic demise of almost nfl star Chad the Lesser, the Henne laid an egg
as the Phoenix arises from the ashes of despair, disappointment & underachievement
to smite the mighty Titans this Sunday (two birds of a very different feather)

    :theman:Chad Pennington :ffic:
this is change you can believe in 24/17-Miami

    No.

I know the Jests aren't a good franchise to judge from, given their history, but I like what they are doing with Sanchez. They're giving him time. They're giving him the opportunity to fail or succeed. Good or bad play, they give him the opportunity. Henne, IMO, hasn't gotten enough opportunity.

For your sake, I really hope you're right that Pennington will be a difference maker. Because for all the cheerleading you've been doing for him, I really do not think anyone will ever let you live it down if we end 8-8. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and see, but '09 Pennington did not impress me at all, and neither did Playoff Pennington in '08. His last 4 games for Miami have been awful. But he's got an almost entirely renewed and retooled offense to work with, so here's hoping.

Yeah, I'll say a lot of things bad about the Jets, but their coaching is not one of them. Rex Ryan is fully behind Sanchez. And while I hope to god it bites them back and they have to go on the QB hunt again, they're doing it right. After this year, Sanchez will have 32 starts, and enough of a body of work for the Jets to determine what they have. Henne will have had 21 starts (unless something happens to Pennington), and we won't know one way or the other whether he has what it takes to be our QB in 2011.
