this "dont lose mentality" has been here since 08 and even back when wannstache was here.

it might win you some games and get you to the playoffs, but THATS AS FAR AS YOU GET.

In order to beat the best you have to take risks. This crap started when we were in position to put teams away in 08 and barely beat the bad teams because we played conservative.

The trend still continues today even though the ball stopped bouncing our way. You play like you dont want to lose and rely on not making mistakes... when those mistakes happen, you ****ed because of the way you play. MISTAKES HAPPEN. I understand sparano and co want these mistakes minimalized but they just happen and they didnt in 08.

Until we start playing aggressive on both sides of the ball... we won't ever amount to anything but a wildcard birth.

Maybe Henne should stroll on over to Mamby Pamby land and see if anyone over there really gives a phuck. There would be no one.

I am a huge Henne supporter, but I agree that Pennington gives us the best chance to win right now. Henne needs more time to learn and I do believe he is still our future.

Short term, I agree with the wins. Our most difficult schedule is behind us. Trading out head coaches is for more than desperate franchises. Sprano will stay. Henning? doubtful......it"s not an easy fix, but consistency at HC is critical

Or does the coaching staff not have any plan for Henne next year and Pennington knows this already. Would have suprised me if Henne had worked out anyway! He couldn't win the big game at Michigan and he will never win it at Miami. Time to look for a real franchise QB draftpick.

If anything he showed he can be a back up at best, would not throw in the towel yet.I think he has the tools to be a starter a shame he got yanked out .

Henne has said nothing of the sort, the amount of projecting going on here is amazing, everything from "He will be crushed!! Ruined! Destroyed!"

Yet no reasons are offered for why this would happen to a level headed, unflappable guy?

I think this means that Henning sucks and that he is being unfair to the players and fans by not calling plays that will help our young QB grow. Pennington in is going to be great but the calls are going to all be for short yardage...

    Fire Henning!!!!

I agree with you. I think coach realized that Henne doesn't fit in with our OC so....

    1. Henning will retire after this season and we get new OC that matches to our players' style.

    2. We keep Henning and trade Henne for 2nd round pick and use the pick to get qb that fits Henning's plans.......

I am hoping for first one.....

One thing to remember about Henne is he was a starter at Michigan since opening day his freshman year, and was a starter in high school since he was a freshman.

Other than the 2008 season behind Pennington as an NFL rookie, this is the first time Henne has sat on the bench.

Very unfamiliar territory for Henne... he's never been benched in his life, or even redshirted or sat behind someone in college.

    what does the ''spark'' mean?

to me it means that Henne has not figured out how to bring the emotional part of the game to the field....He's got to learn to let go, before he can truly inspire other's...

Bottom line..He's got to learn how to orchestrate men on the field verbally and emotionally to inspire them to reach their optimum playing level and focus.

Maybe this benching is the best thing for him..He's holding back..and Pennington can show him how important that part of the game is....

Noone denies that chad Henne has beautiful arm talent, however, he needs to learn to let go of his inhibitions on the field, and how to get in his players ***..{no homo of course}lol
