I like it so far. However, I think I need to find a new gun to use(I mainly play with the M16). It seems like a lot of the maps I would be better off with a SMG but I'm awful with them. K/D is still 1.30 though so not too bad
The maps are not made for sniping, IMO. I've been rolling with an SMG, but my K/D is like .91 right now. Once I know the maps it'll be higher.
I like the single player, the zombie mode somewhat, and still don't like the multiplayer. However that is a great review from me regarding a COD game. So congrats Activision because I know you care what I think.
I’m mostly through the single player campaign. Still suffers from Treyarch disease, like the indecipherable storyline, and the schizophrenic mission intro cutscenes. Fun, but MW2 was better.
At the start menu if you press your triggers you can break free of the chair and get on a computer to unlock a different zombie game.
Beat the single player. My previous comments still stand. Indecipherable nonsense… until the very end. Nice twist ending. Still can’t stand Treyarch’s mission intro cutscenes, though.
Well, to me sniping in any of these recent COD games has been pretty weak. The maps are so small that it just takes away much of the appeal to me. Battlefield games have always been much better for them. It used to take some decent skill to be a good sniper in battlefield 1942 or even Vietnam/BF2, and when I look at Modern Warfare 2 and the "Quickscope" crowd....it just makes me laugh. I may end up buying this game just to put the noob tubes, commando teleporters, quickscopers behind me. Even if there are other things that ruin the fun, those changes along with the tweaks to the way killstreaks work are appealing to say the least.
Yeah, it seems that they really listened to a lot of complaints for Modern Warfare 2 and fixed them. I didn't agree with all the complaints made (I didn't mind how the killstreaks worked in MW2) but some of the things they fixed are definitely good. I still love the wager matches the most.
I sniped a little last night.... don't remember the name of the map... one with higher buildings and a nice street to look down at the noobs running around trying to figure stuff out.
After having played this a lot, definitely blows MW2 out the water. The only real qualm I have about the game is sometimes the servers don't want to put you in the game when you're in a party. Oh, there's also the Akimbo Pythons being crazy OP, but since I use them, doesn't really bother me. It's great not having to worry about 3-4 camping snipers every game. Motion Sensors are beast on Search and Destroy. Decoys are pretty awesome too when used correctly. Love the wager matches also. And it's always satisfying getting a kill directly after doing a jump dive. Wish you could shoot while diving though.
It must be the game engine because I was *****ing about this during MW, WAW, & MW2. Easily the worst conceived spawning system in the history of shooters. I understand their goal was to keep an active "frontline" so that combat would remain frenetic throughout the game, but it is simply baffling that any developer could even try to justify the existence of someone you just killed spawning right around the corner from you in mere seconds. I have to admit every time I get a payback kill like that, I end up shaking my head in disbelief at the game.
OK guys, here's the setup... Ak74u w/grip and rapid fire. Without Grip, the gun is difficult to manage. 1st perk (whatever), 2nd perk (Warlord*** MUST HAVE) and 3rd Perk (whatever). Basically, the gun is stopping power. The accuracy is legit because of grip and the rate of fire is so good guys drop. However, Ammo is a little scare. I got 3 chopper gunners today. Had some really good games all around. It's hard to fail with this class.
Never have gotten into SMG's. Not good enough Medium/Long Range for me I guess. My personal favorite class (I only play S&D) is: G11 with variable zoom scope. Either the crossbow or Makarov/ACOG Python/Akimbo Pythons as my secondary. Hardline Pro with SAM, Care Package, and Sentry Gun as my killstreaks so I can switch out SAM and Sentry. Sleight of Hand Pro and Ninja Pro. Flashbangs and Semtex. Motion Sensors are a must have in S&D.
Pretty sure he means the AK-47, not the AK-74. The 74 is easy to control, no need for a grip. And yes the AK-47 is beast
Just beat the campaign. Started off weak. Ended strong. Glad I went back to it. I guess I have to thank Fable 3 for this lol
snagged a new 250gb 360 and black ops kinect is meh, but has potential...black ops is awesome...i prefer a mouse and kb for fps games, but I'm getting better with the gamepad
Wow! Then there is really no reason to have any other killstreak setup. Well as long as you use Hardline.
I agree. Now if only I can start getting kills with all these airstrikes and Valkyrie Rockets I get...
This class is beast, IMO. I was rolling with Ghost/Ninja but I am thinking of rolling with Marathon and Lightweight with it to see how it works. I really liked it. I wound up getting my attack helicopter with the score like 67-65 (us down) and two seconds later I was able to bring in my chopper gunner. However I never got the use the damn thing because airspace was full. We wound up losing 75-71 because my teammates were dumb and kept going into the same building where four guys would camp in every direction... still sucks to lose with a chopper gunner in your pocket.
You ain't lying. Got a gunship yesterday from switching out a SAM turret with Hardline Pro. Match ended as soon as I got the thing.
finished the campaign last night... gotta say MW2 campaign is much better... Spoiler I suppose I should have known coming in that the older weapons here in BO wouldn't fire as well. Was hoping it would somehow lead up to modern day though... But I really found the storyline to be quite weak. Who didn't see the split personality thing coming? It does get better from a game play standpoint as the story progresses. It seems the multiplayer (what limited time I've spent on it) is better now though. Like being able to practice with what are essentially bots every map as you get used to the layout. I haven't found a setup I like though... will try Clark's setup, but what level do you need to be? IMO been a little disappointed with the new games this year. FIFA11... this one... would think that as time goes on, improvements are made within each franchise... not the case. Mafia2 has also been kinda meh... gameplay from a shooter perspective, what I would call chunky. Looking forward to trying out the new AC though. That'll be my next purchase.
I gave up on the story line in the end and just completed the campaign for the sake of it - the cut scenes were too long and I could guess the route it was taking. TBH I'm not that impressed with the game in general although it did get slightly better as it went on. Have bought a lot of games this year but not really impressed with any so far, although NFS hot pursuit out now so will hopefully impress??. Maybe the break from black ops will make me appreciate it when I get back on it.
