Well, now they have to run to set up pennington's play action, that is the only saving grace.

But after Sparano's quotes about playing Brown to much last week, you have to still wonder.

I hope you're right. I enjoyed Ronnie's great cameo appearance on the 1st drive last week, and would like to see more of that.

Makes sense (re; setting up the play action). But, one still must wonder...if they're going to make a concerted effort to incorporate it into the game plan now, why on earth wouldn't they have done so much sooner (to help a young developing QB)? :headscratch:

Unless you're suggesting Henning is going to lean more to the run, the line is going to start blocking the run better, or Ricky Williams just pulled his head out of his ***, then I'm not really sure I follow.

I'd love to see the running game pick up. I feel a lot of our shortcomings are a direct result of the feast or famine running we've been seeing. And the sheer abandonment of it when we're doing it well.

I'm not sure. I think Pennington will cause defenses to play closer to the line, not further away. On the other hand, the run defenses we face in the 2nd half aren't on the level of what we say up till now so hopefully we'll be able to execute more consistently.

the offensive line has to get more physical. they need to push the defense back a step @ the point of contact. haven't been very successful so far this season.

If ronnie brown doesn't get 25 touches in this game, than something REALLY wrong is going on around here.

It was last week and we still didn't run.

The fact of the matter is we are not running, not that we can't run.

Which is bull****, and is admitting they set Henne up to fail with their piss poor game planning.

A running game should be a young QB's best friend, not something you dole out on the first drive, score a TD, and them completely shelf for the rest of the game.

Yep, why do people think Sanchez, Ryan, Flacco, Bradford etc... are doing well.

    They run the ball.

The running game never went anywhere. It's just our incompetent coaching staff that split the carries evenly weeks 1-3 when Ronnie was averaging 5.4 YPC and Ricky averaging 3.4 YPC. It's just our incompetent coaching staff that ran Ronnie more than Ricky in weeks 4-8 when Ricky was averaging 5.2 YPC while Ronnie averaged 3.2 YPC. And who can forget about the Ravens game where Ronnie got 45 yards and a TD on 6 carries on the 1st drive, only to get 3 carries the rest of the game. Sparano and Henning have no clue what they're doing. So caught up on splitting carries and force feeding the ineffective back rather than trying to win games by feeding the hot hand. If Sparano really did say he played Ronnie too much last week, then that just proves my point that he's a buffoon.

Iam not sure thats the case GM..not sure we will see any different looks at this point considering our lack of speed at the skill position's is the same as when Henne was taking the snaps..

I mean the cheating concepts still apply for corners and safety's when facing a weak armed QB, but they still have to cover the players that go out, basically I dont think there will be a big difference..Marshall still demands the double team which is something Penny did not have the luxury before...speed is what stretches a defense.

Its time for Ronnie Brown to man up and play like a #2 overall pick..and its tiime for Henning to man up and give the freakin guy the rock and stop playing musical running backs.

Iam tired of this sh$#...run game better dominate the 2nd half of the season..or else Mark Ingram is #1 on my list..

You hear me Ronnie Brown...man up.

If aforementioned young QB was any kind of a threat to the defense, I would agree. With a robot mechanical toy back there, the defense does not even have to scheme for aforementioned young QB. Think about it.

Ah, still beating the drum for a washed up Guard and a center no one else in the NFL, CFL or arena football league will sign.

I will ask the same question you were incapable of answering before. What are you top 3 teams that are pounding the rock. You have had more then sufficient time to google tons of info, now, put it together and let me know your top 3 choices.

OmarKelly - In four games against the Titans, Ricky Williams has averaged 4.3 yards per carry, rushing for 324 yards and scored two touchdowns.

I'd like a good dose of R&R on Sunday, but I still think we'll see more passing since their Pass D is weaker than their Run D.

It still bewilders me how the Dolphins don't utilize Ronnie Brown correctly don't run the ball well this year. Brown is averaging a reasonable 4.3 YPC, not much less than the previous year. Just give him 25 touches, see what happens. It's sad to say but if he can't the burden of that kind of running then he's gone at the end of the year anyway. Heck if you're worried about him give him 20 rushing attempts.

What the epic **** happened against the Ravens that he gets 6 carries for 45 yards then gets only 3 carries for a still very good 14 yards the rest of the game? Huh? What? WTF.

2 rushes by Ricky Williams and it's over? I mean there's no balance with these guys.

Here's a simple sequence. Run Ronnie Brown left behind Long and Incognito on first down, play action to Fasano on second down.

Ronnie Brown right tackle for 4 yards. Brandon Marshall 13 yard completion.

Pass short to Hartline eight yards. Play action incomplete to Marshall. Pass short to Hartline for seven yards, first down.

    Ronnie Brown...

The OL really isn't that bad, it really isn't (run blocking). They can't get out on the perimeter but they get push especially behind the tackles. Take Mcquistan out of the game, run the F'in ball.

Go back and look at the 2008 highlights. Know what's missing completely? The max protect packages? Very little of it. The worst would be Ronnie Brown staying in and then going for a short completion. I can't imagine it helps your running game when the defense knows you have two guys staying in. That's four or five guys rushing with six against your three receivers. That doesn't add up well. The angles the RBs take (they're large guys not quick ones who can suddenly jut upfield) make them a non-threat on a late screen pass. It's stupidity. You can't move down the field with this formation especially since your WRs aren't all top shelf deep threats. In 2008 the play calling yes didn't feature the deep ball all that much but there were plenty of threats out there. Just off of highlights, it's all 3 WR, 1 TE, or 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB.
