http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81c0fa3b/article/report-league-acknowledges-blown-calls-against-steelers?module=HP_headlines Amazing how the NFL is so quick to come out and apologize to the Steelers but they completely ignore us when Sparano asks for something to be reviewed by the league. Whether it be the Steelers game debacle, McClain spitting in Crowder's face, the Saints screw job from last year or even a few years ago when Logan Mankins ripped Channing Crowders helmet off on the field and started punching him in the back of the head and Crowder was the one to get fined. When will this **** end? I'm not trying to be a conspiracy theorist here, but the facts don't lie. After Tim Donughy's book came out a couple of year's ago detailing how the NBA was rigged, wouldn't we all be foolish to think otherwise about the NFL? Look at the Falcons game last night. Ravens fumble, are ruled down by contact, refs confer, rule it a fumble and give the ball to the Falcons. Basically the exact same situation ruled two completely different ways. And guess what. The Falcons covered the spread last night. I'm getting really close to being done with the NFL. I didn't even watch the Bengals game and only tokenly watched the Ravens game. After that screw job at the Steelers I just can't look at this game the same ever again, and that's really the saddest part of all.
It is one thing to admit officials were wrong on calls that wouldn't change the outcome of the game since the Steelers won anyways. It is another to admit bad calls were made that "did" affect the outcome of the game.
To that point I offer into evidence the fact that the NFL did in fact admit to making a bad call in the Vikings/Packers game that took a TD away from the Vikings. Of course there's no telling how the game would have played out from there, but with an additional 4 points, as they did kick the FG, the Vikings would have won that game. Therefore, the NFL demonstrates that they will acknowledge making bad calls that affect the outcome of a game, they simply wont acknowledge that the Dolphins got screwed....ever.
My wife has always said (from litterally the first day I met her) that the NFL is fixed. Not to the point of WWF/WWE but close enough to determine certain outcomes when it wants too. I have always told her she's crazy but then again in the back of my mind, whenever something has as much cash betting in Vegas as the NFL does....ANYTHING is possible. I try not to worry about it and figure I can't change what these people do behind the scenes so F it, why stress over it.
I'm on the same boat bro, and the theories are out there. It really isn't as crazy a thought as most will have you think. Kinda scary.
We have no pull with the NFL anymore . Why do you think the Don Shula's teams were the least penalized team in the NFL ? He was on the competition committee and thus supervising the officials. Ross is a wealthy man but wealthy men are a dime a dozen among NFL team owners. Its the old geezer owners with pull who get the calls .
Is it just me, or has anyone else lost a great deal of interest in the NFL this season? After being a Dolphins fan since I was 5 years old, and not missing a game since I was 17, I didn't watch the Bengals game. And I only halfway payed attention to the Ravens game. I just feel so disconnected from the game I've loved since childhood. It's just hard to get emotionally invested in something that is so blatantly rigged. And though we've seen it rear it's ugly head in the past at certain points, it seems to be clearly on display this season, every week of the season. It's just really hard to stomach if you ask me and it has drastically decreased my interest in the game as a whole.
I'm not sure how old you are, but I've gone through my "less" interested in the NFL phases. It usually happens when my life is so hectic that I had to choose between real life or football. I chose real life. However, I've never waned in my rooting for this team that I've loved since I was 5yrs old.
Goodell fondling the testacles of another NFL owner. Gotta love it. In the real world Roger Goodell and his flunkys at the NFL could not clean urinals at Miami International airport.
i know its far fetched but it doesnt feel like it with all these total BS calls we get.' the saints game was the hardest to swallow for me. we were up 24-3 going to halftime on an unbeaten team, that eventually won the super bowl, then all of a sudden like a 28 point swing on several HORRIBLE calls. it felt like it couldnt have been any more obvious unless they just changed the numbers on the scoreboard.
The NFL continues to just piss me off. The league will continue to be this way as long as goodell is the commish.
