Wow... what a day. So now we're 5-4 after a good team play, all around, with an absolutely confusing QB situation.

Assuming all 3 of the QBs are viable to play Thursday (highly unlikely for Pennington, and probably questionable for Henne), who would you start at QB and why?

I think Thigpen made a very strong case today. I honestly did not expect him to play nearly as well as he did, he really surprised me.

I'm really torn between the two of them, as I think Pennington is too brittle now. If he can go down with shoulder pains within 2 plays off of a rather innocuous hit, I don't think he's going to survive much longer.

Knowing the coaching staff it will be Thiggy.

Both had a solid game but I just don't see Thiggy starting.

lol, if they name henne the starter, I think the whole offense is going to riot sparano. Nobody likes henne, he isn't good.

I doubt either of them will be ready by Thursday.

No brainer IMO you go with Henne.

Henne proved yet again today that he is a startable NFL QB that can do quite well when the team isn't D gumming it up (Marshall Delay of game, and holding penalty within the redzone anyone?). The was under fire all day and still opened it up.

Penny: Not sure how he would have played, but with a short week before the next game to get a QB reps with the first team O, I don't roll the dice on a guy who went out after the first hit he took. He's had multiple shoulder surgeries and hurt it again today. It could be minor, but he cannot be dependd on to be a starter week in and week out. Give Henne the reps that he needs.

Thigpen: Not sure why everyone's on his jock all the sudden. I like Thigpen...as a #2. Being from Iowa I got to see A LOT of him when he started for KC. He's got a good arm, can move in the pocket well, and is pretty accurate. But he also floats balls a lot, and he's dangerous with the ball WAY too often. He benefited as a change of pace substitution today. The D was on their heels from the wild cat, and didn't know what to expect from the #3 QB, and I can guarantee you they didn't forsee Fassano catching more than one pass in a row.

I like Thiggy, I really do. But this isn't an honest debate.

If all 3 are ready, then I have no idea. If it's between Henne and Thiggy, I say Henne. I don't care who you are, you didn't know Henne could play out of the spread, and you didn't even know we had that as an option. Likely though, Henne is hurt and Thiggy is the guy, and Penny is done for the year.

On a short week, I can't see anyone other than Thigpen being healthy in time for Thursday.

Way to show your bias. The offense getting better had nothing to do with the running game finally coming alive huh?

The running game came alive because henne wasn't the qb.

I believe Thigpen will start due to the injuries and the short week. However Henne if 100% will probably start.

Unless you think Henne doesn't know how to hand off the ball properly, you're saying that Ronnie and Ricky are throwing the game on purpose because they dislike their QB. If that's the case, they need to be fired.

No, the defense was playing close the line hoping to stop the run, daring henne to beat them. They knew he couldn't. It changed once he left.

To me, Thigpen is one of those guys that is an all-star when he has to come in due to emergency, but largely exposed when he becomes the starting QB. I'm not basing that on history, because that hasn't been the case with him yet, but I'm just basing it off of quarterbacks who scramble a lot, throw the ball downfield a lot, but take more chances than they should.

    He's Jake Plummer.

Design your game-plan around him. Switch it up. Bootlegs, spread offense, anything to take advantage of the fact that he can move. Use him in the Wildcat. Don't make him a pocket passer in a pro set for one thing.

It's a new gimmick but try this, go into the five wide formation with Cobbs out of the backfield shifting to the slot. See if you can run out of that.

YOu knpow there is some validity to this, Hartline and Marshall were clearly *****ing about ball placement when Henne was in.... Funny enough Marshall seemed miserable most of the game but when Thigpen came in on the sideline Thigpen and Marshall we sitting next to each other and joking.

So basically QB who don't played scared are bad starters? Seems to me, when you threaten a defense, you open things up offensively. That's what Thigpen did. He threatened them and made some big plays the team needed to finish off a tough team.

Thigpen is plenty capable. The guy carried KC with no talent around him. He deserves an opportunity here.

I think Henne is just frustrated and the team is frustrated. Time to cool off between him and the team.

As for Thigpen they need a game-plan for him.

He delivered a 75 Qb rating with plenty of TDs on a CRAPPY CRAPPY CRAPPY K.C. team. That was a terrible team. No line, Dwayne Bowe, and Gonzales basically.

I think Thigpen can play, if the running game can get going again finally. Cameron Wake is healthy they have a good shot at beating the Bears.

Obviously he did. I'm saying that his risk-taking could potentially put us in some bad positions. That what risks are, you gamble on greatness and failure.

By all means I'm fine with him starting, but I just wonder how he would do when a defense has a whole week to gameplan against his tendency to take risks.

I'm much more comfortable with Thiggy today as a backup at least then I was since we aquired him. He's looked pretty bad up till today.

Which is good except for the backup part. Losing 2 qbs when they have a game on thursday is not good. Jamarcus russell or jp losman?

I read that Henne still has his locker full of clothes, and Pennington's is completely empty. Think his career is officially done..

Yeh...if Henne has a sprained knee....he isnt playing Thursday.

A much bigger problem is.....we now need a backup QB for Thigpen.

Henne is having an MRI on his knee tomorrow morning at 6:30....not liking this at all....(just on phins radio..Kim Bokamper)

    Honestly....neither.

I think Jeff Garcia would be a decent backup.

I dont think Henne should start until he's close to 100% since he's not that mobile to begin with and a bum knee will make it worse and we'll be destroyed.

Thigpen is wild but its better than having the zone blitz all day long and having Henne get destroyed back there.

We are fortunate to have a guy like Thigpen there to step in and make a diffrence. Was a very important game if not for a playoff chance later on just the fact this team got a much needed mental win at home.

    Maybe.

In an emergency situation like this I say they go with someone they've worked with before. Either in Dallas or with Henning someplace.
