You're right...It proved Henne is the answer, and that Thigpen is a solid backup...

because I actually watched him play at KC...I know what he brings to the table already. Do I like him, yes, do I like Henne better, yes...different skill set. IMO Henne is the better overall option as a starter plain and simple.

Watched Thiggy's interview. At least he sounds sharp and competent. He may read the field and progressions better than Henne.

Thigpen is fools gold. He'll look great and just when you get comfortable he'll do something ridiculous. He's a coach killer.

It all really depends on Henning. I'll tell you this, if we face teams that don't have a great four man rush (we faced one today), you can win with the spread offense and Thigpen.

The Jets look far less intimidating when they're playing you with pretty much NO ONE who can rush the passer. I mean their four man rush is Pouha, Devito, Pryce, and MAYBE Calvin Pace. I've been wanting to see what a true spread offense could look like for years with a mobile QB. The Pats did it in 2008 with Cassell. It produced points. Sure it produced turnovers too, but it PUMPED points out silly.

Here's how we should see it: Cautiously optimistic. Yes Thigpen looked good when he was in, but Jay Fiedler could do what he did. If the defense and Run game can get going, then we can win and go to the playoffs. If we have to rely on Thigpen to carry the team then we're probably doomed. Who knows though, could he be our Romo/Brady? Problem is he started in 2008 for KC. They sucked all around though so it's tough to judge.

Thigpen has a strong arm and arguably a quicker release. I also noticed a better zip on his throws. Also, his touch passes are 100 times better than Henne's. At least he can throw a spiral. See last weeks duck float (because calling it a pass would be too generous) to a wide open Fasano.

Accuracy may be Henne's only advantage over Thigpen. Even so, I'm not all that concerned.

I look forward to seeing Thigpen play again. I do believe he's the best QB on the roster. Hopefully he shows it Thursday night.

I disagree with everything you just said...except for the accuracy belonging to Henne, and Henne had to float that pass over a defender last minute to Fasano...if you watch closely enough you can see it starting out as a spiral and was caught by the wind. Both Sick and I watched this several times in slo mo....but if you believe Thigpen is so great and mighty we shall see how he does in comparison....
