http://www.nfl.com/freeagency#players-tab-set-1:players-grid-container-position Who do you see the Phins Signing?
Is Bulger still a FA? If so take him. He should have had time to heal up and he was dogged on a bad Rams team the last few years.
Well I don't think I've seen him play any but Hunter Cantwell was with the Panthers as a backup, now on Ravens practice squad. Just another name to toss out there if we are looking for two backups.
What a terrible list to choose from. Ugh. Is Matt Guiterrez still a FA? Former Pats backup who at one time, was going to backup Brady. Josh McCown? We had him here from Oakland a few years back. If nothing else, he gives a veteran presence for a backup.
i was thinking of gutierrez too. he played well his rookie year in preseason then something happened and he disappeared. dont really know if there was some issue or he couldnt proggress
ArmandoSalguero List of QBs (free agent or practice squaders) Dolphins are considering now: JaMarcus Russell, Sean Canfield, Brian St. Pierre, Todd Bouman. also brandstater per armando
I heard Troy Aikman's name being tossed around. I would like to see if maybe we can get our hands on Ken Dorsey. I think he's the same as Chad Pennington Approach wise. Should be a decent lateral move in that case. Sign Ken Dorsey, and then grab Pat White.
Of the names tossed around in this thread aside from the ones Armando named, I like Hunter Cantwell. The interesting thing about Josh McCown is that he might still remember the playbook, somewhat. I don't LOVE the idea of bringing in Jamarcus Russell, but I don't hate it either.
I just thought of a little serious list. Jeff Garcia Josh Mcnown (Whichever brother was it that was with the dolphins last, not Cade--Luke?) Pat White (He knows the playbook) Dante Culpepper (Vetern who might have a distaste for us though) Ken Dorsey (Smart QB who would just become another Captain Checkdown but might not crack under pressure and might excell playing in Miami again) Of the ones listed, Culpepper and Garcia are in game shape and playing now, Pat White was already with us this year and Dorsey may be considering he was never fat.
Culpepper can make all the throws at least. He really isn't much different than Henne right now without his mobility. I say McCown and Pat White.
I don't think Miami would ever go with Pat White again. Besides that, he signed with the Kansas City Royals.
Is he much worse than Pennington? No really, does he lack anything that Pennington showed? I can't say his arm is any weaker. He's more mobile. He's older sure but who care. He's really just a mobile, older Pennington.
I'd second this idea. He has been playing for the last 8 weeks in the UFL, for the Sacramento Mountain Lions. Led them to a 4-4 record, but they got off to a slow start and Dante has been playing well the past month. Certainly good enough to be the #2 QB in Miami and probably give Thiggy a run for the starting job if he could learn the offense fast enough. Unlike when he was in Miami before, his knee is good and he will run when he has to. He has been deadly with the QB draw inside the 5 yd line and Polite-like on the QB sneak. He still loves to bomb it deep too.
