That's the link to the article. It states that coach Cam Cameron somehow has managed to maintain a positive attitude and that he says he relies heavily on his faith and on lessons he learned from a one-time neighbor in San Diego, the late Admiral James B. Stockdale, a decorated Vietnam War veteran. The statement wrote, 'No one can make you a victim of your circumstances but yourself.'

The statement of the year because Cameron is a victim of his own circumstances and no one made it for him. That includes bad playcalling, and bad QB decisions.

Mueller had nothing to do with it? Saban and Wanny had nothing to do with it??

The defense completely falling apart had nothing to do with it?

Before the injuries, the offense looked pretty darn good to me and was still growing.

I'm not saying Cam does not have some fault in this, but its not all on him.

And what was the Bad QB decision? Would you have rather had Culpepper who can't beat out McCowen????

IMHO the QB decision to start John Beck is what I was refering to. We have all debated this and it will keep on going, but Cleo Lemon was playing pretty good and should have stayed there unless an injury. I know some things that Cam Can't control, but he is the HC and it all starts there.

I think this says a lot towards everyone's job security going into this offseason.

99.9% of the Fin fans were screaming for Beck. I for one would rather see Beck this weekend. Cam said all year that he was not going to push Beck (personally I think he was told to start him) Lemon did not play pretty good, look at what he has done.

Yeah its not like Lemon has won a bunch of games this year. What's worse...losing by 10 or 13 with Lemon, or losing by 21 with Beck ?

A loss is a loss is a loss is a loss.

it is soooo true that he's damned if you do, damned if you don't....i guess thats why they make the big bucks though

Yeah , Lemon didn't play like an All-pro but I've always thought that he should of stayed the starter until an injury.

Putting Beck in was the result of enormous pressure from ownership, fans, and the media.

You're essentially blasting Cameron for doing one thing that everyone wanted him to when, to date, he had generally disregarded external opinions.

Ya know, it's kind of deceiving just how bad Lemons played. The offense does move the ball better with him in, but he hasnt been impressive at all outside of the cleveland game.

I want to say at least we'll win a game next season, but if Cameron and Mueller are still at the helm, I'm not so sure.

Actually you omitted Randy Mueller from the "ownership, fans, and the media".

Cam is very reluctant to play anyone that he feels is not 100% ready to play.

See, "stubborn as a Missouri mule".

I for one am very happy with Cam's handling of John Beck, he's not a porcelin doll who will shatter with the slightest touch, his maturity is an asset in that regard.

Stockdale was also famous as Ross Perot's running mate in '92. He was the VP candidate who admittedly was "out of ammo" and felt like he was "in a ping pong match" while Al Gore and Dan Quayle jousted over policy in that debate.

It produced one of the great SNL sketches a week later, with Dana Carvey as Perot driving Phil Hartman as Stockdale into the countryside before dumping him out of the car and speeding away.

At this point, I would rather have c-pep and our draft pick, instead of washed up Green

Actually, Culpepper had beaten out McCown and was the starting QB for the Raiders until he sustained a quad injury.
