I have no qualms with bringing him in, a fmr #1 overall pick, should the #3 backup from outer Krapistan be signed instead?

He is not very good, plain and simple, regardless of where he was taken.

 

Put yourself in their shoes, he is a backup Qb with a huge arm and starting experience comparable to Sanchez's hanging out for the league minimum salary.

That is how a GM would approach him imho.

 

No touch, not accurate, lazy, not bright, doesn't care.

 

I'd like to see Brandstater here. I was hoping we'd draft in the late rounds instead of White. He's had a few nice preseason games in Denver if I remember correctly.

Perfect backup Qb and keep in mind, that is the "was' not neccesarily the "is".

As a Rook his numbers were Sanchez's.

i think the interview with Jamarcus would simply be having him sit outside Ireland's office for 15 minutes with an open box of donuts on the coffee table. If the donuts are gone when Ireland calls him in, we say no. If none of the donuts are eaten we consider it

My friends at work would never let me hear the end of it if we got Russell i have trash talked that piece of #%& since he was drafted.

Watching him on the sideline with a 2 Lb. bag of m&ms robbing the Raiders salary cap.

 

Be much happier bringing in Pat White any day over Russell..........please NO!!

Free agent JaMarcus Russell left the Dolphins facility without signing a contract on Monday.


It appears the Fins were never serious about signing Russell, only bringing him in for a "tire kicking" along with numerous other unsigned quarterbacks.

Since when is a lazy, no accuracy, doesn't care quarterback a perfect backup?

 

Not that it matters now that they added Ramsey and Brandstater, but here is why:

-The tools are all there, and we had no idea whether his release effected him or not, if the backup Qb is not going to play anyway (99% of the time) then your backup should have upside.

 

I don't see how you can watch Russell and say that.

 

Really?

I see a Qb with above average size, and a large arm, he may make poor decisions but his tools were never his problem.

I have seen him soak up hits ala Rothlesberger or Freeman as well.

And think about this, your backup Qb HAS to have some attribute that will allow them to come in cold with few first team practice reps and make plays, whether they are good runners, or have large arms or experience starting, Russell has those attributes.

You're right it's very weird and unlikely.

Thigpen of course has somewhat of a shot if a light suddenly goes on but anyone brought in to backup Thiggy right now has no shot in hell. The talent pool to bring in is shallow to say the least. Ramsey is here now, do really feel it's possible for him to all of a sudden be a solid starting QB in the NFL?

 

Agreed, he was awful... simply awful and what's worse is that from all reports he could have cared less.

He stole millions.
He's the new posterboy for a rookie pay cap to protect teams from flushing money down the toilet for people that never produce.

 

I totally agree that he was awful, however did have some good tools. He was really good at the 2 minute offense. His arm strength is the best I have EVER seen.

If the guy ever did get dedicated he would be amazing. I do not know how much the truth about him not getting over the death of his mentor is true or not.

 

O Padre he has plenty upside. And backside, sideside, frontside.

Now put a Aqua #8 on his chest and that is what he would look like out on the field, including the people who approximate the size of defenders.

That would be a funny to see, almost funny enough not to care who wins the game, a pass throwing snowman does not come along everyday.
