Be careful what you wish for next time.

This guy makes me flashback to A.J. Feeley and Ray Lucas. His accuracy sucks. His trajectory makes Henne's look like Joe Montana. He has a wet noodle of an arm. Too many dumb throws in general. Zero pocket presence.

Pigpen is 1-10 for his career as a starter with 7 losses by double digits and that was in an offense that was catering to his strengths in a spread offense. And he was a big part of the reason why those teams lost a lot of those games. Put in Patrick Ramsey.

    [/] rant :tantrum:

And because of this BUM, our defense has been on the field all day. You can see Chicago snapping the ball inside of 5 seconds every time.

TOP right now at 23 to 13.

6 first downs all game and like 110 yards in offense at this point. I hope all the Tyler Thigpen fans out there who called for him are thrilled.

The line looked like 2004 all over again. Was that Wade Smith blocking out there?

I said it on Twitter, I’ll say it here.

The Dolphins are supposed to be one of the most prepared teams in the NFL. That means that the gameplan is sound, the depth can step in at a moment’s notice and play well, and they always stand a chance in any game they play. None of those three axioms are true tonight. Our depth is a complete joke. Tennessee beat us up and the Bears are scavenging the leftovers.

At this point, I am fully behind the notion that Sparano has to be fired. As long as Ireland stays, letting go of Sparano is fine with me. I’m already researching possible replacements.

This is why you don't change horses in midstream. Changing QBs midseason was the nail in the coffin. The most asisine move this regime has made. Now we have no QB. Good job guys!

No one is happy he is failing. We are all Dolphin fans here. But it does seem like some of the "pro Henning crowd" was "pro Pigpen" and "anti Henne". Now you all see what a useless slag Tyler Thigpen is. He is not and never should have been an NFL starting QB. And if you would have watched his games in Kc you would have seen it before hand. He has a quarter of pure brilliance and then games like these sometimes 2-3 at a time.

He couldnt even excel in a system made for him like Herm Edwards tried to give him so how is he going to possibly excel in a system that is 100% not in his DNA. He is a spread QB if he ever had a shot and we have neither the depth at WR or the proper OC to run a spread.

18-37 career record. I think he's a good DC. We should have lost by a lot more than we did tonight.

Yup. It was a desperation move by the coaching staff to save their jobs, and now they surely have doomed themselves.

You don't change the QB, especially with the above average performance he had against what, 6 or 7 of the top D's in the league early in the season, you adjust your offense instead, so it fits your starting QB, and not your 2nd stringer at the time.

the change did nothing but tear apart Penny's shoulder, and the confidence of the team as a whole.

Sparano's time is probably done here. Shame really, I like the guy. But if you can't adapt, and build a system that plays to your teams strengths, then you don't deserve to be where you are.

Nolan instantly becomes a candidate for the vacancy if Sparano is fired. He’s a good coach, has prior experience at the position, but never had a personnel manager as good as Jeff Ireland to pair with.

Now, this isn’t to say Nolan is or should be the front-runner for a potentially vacated HC job. He’s just a candidate, and a more plausible hire than Cowher or Gruden. You can bet he’d want the Dolphins job more than either of those two, and he would be less disruptive in terms of organizational structure. Cowher would want final say on the roster, which would basically result in a demotion of Ireland; meanwhile, Gruden’s style of football would basically necessitate overturning the entire roster. No reason to do that when we’re such a young squad.

No. I think Ireland is safe, and furthermore, I believe Ross when he says Peterson is not a consideration. He had an opportunity there to shove Ireland underneath the bus and purposefully declined to do so. No Peterson means no Edwards.

Actually if you look back I thought the Pennington experiment was not the best idea.
Benching Henne was a bad move

Thankfully I think you are correct about Peterson and Edwards. I think Ireland would have the sack to hire Cowher. Cowher would probably want his own personnel man but i think he might be ok with a guy like Ireland. If not, Id have to consider The Chin over Ireland.

I think Nolan would be a legit consideration but i doubt he would have the necessary credibility having been on Sparano's staff.

Wasnt referring to you specifically Killer. Sorry if that wasnt clear. :)

Exactly. I stood behind this staff for a few years but when you make stupid moves even your staunchest supporters will lose faith.
