1. We no longer have to worry about the rest of our season 2. We get to talk about what running backs be get for next year 3. Urlachers still got it 4. Our team figured that the only way to keep the ball out of hesters hands is by not scoring 5. Jay Cutler only threw one pick tonight 6. BMarsh and Jay Cutler got a little bonding time tonight 7. Last but not least, the weather looked great
Before the game started they were showing some amazing cheerleaders. Those were the most well played parts of the game besides our defense, which left a few plays out there IMO, but by no means sucked as bad as the offense did. Players that brought their lunchbox to work tonight include: Wake, Dansby, Davis, McDaniel, Sapp (for his int). Hartline (at times). Did I mention Wake? The game was all but over and he was still trying to sack the QB.
Yes, I must say that our cheerleaders are prime right now haha and just like the rest of us they were probably convinced they had something to cheer for this year. and wake is unreal i cant even say how much i like the guy
Ross will likely fire Ireland and Sparano in a fit of rage instead of waiting to see how bad the "suck" can get ala Matt Millen and the Lions.
Imagine if we could send out 22 guys with the intensity of Wake, talent level of Long, swagger of Davis, hands of Bess, and speed of Carroll. They would be called, the Eagles.
Positives? Defence played well enough I suppose Brandon Fields is a stud, in a duel with the greatest Returner of this era, he came out ahead. Hartline is good. Nolan Carroll has some skills. The Oline was exposed enough that finally, Sparano will have to make some changes. Cameron Wake had his ManCard stamped Reshad Jones looks like a keeper
The OL wasn't really exposed, it's beat up. Both Long and Carey are both way way too hurt right now. The inside is total **** with Jerry doing a mediocre job, the other two far worse without Berger. The talent level is far down. For some reason they emptied out the talent before the season began. They have promise though, they'll be fixed. It's just a strange team all around. This is certainly the most talented team they've had in the entire 2000s decade. I would even say the 2002 team would be hard-pressed to beat it.
jones made a really nice play running all the way down the levels and taking down the runner. really nice timing. was in stride from his spot 15-20 yards away to the ballcarrier
The talent doesn't match the scheme, that is the real problem imho. why was Thiggy dropping back as if he were Henne? I came away from this one with some serious questions about Sparano, serious ones.
Don't worry Ireland is searching the practice squads for more **** to plug the holes on the Oline with. We might sniff a FG against Oakland, I can't wait.
A few more positives: Brandon Marshall didn't beat his wife after this humiliating defeat. Ricky Williams didn't smoke a big fattie after a grueling first half. Dan Henning grew one day older and closer to the inevitable dementia that is already taking hold. Joe Robbie is not alive to see the debacle of a franchise we have been stuck with.
-Dan Carpenter got to rest his overworked field goal kicking leg -Ronnie Brown was only tackled 4 times to not further risk injury phew -Chad Pennington didn't injury his shoulder further during any kind of celebration that would have ensued after our offense scored a TD
I'm starting to look for the exit off the Sparano wagon myself. No adjustments, no thoughtful gameplan at all. The "D" was exausted from being on the field for so long. 3 and out is the new "O" name.
oh lets not forget Randy Starks didn't get his jersey dirty by diving on the fumble caused by Cam Wake, he did the smart thing and instead tried to scoop it up with his hands like if he did he'd take it to the house ... that'll save Ross money on laundry fees...
