Jets play on Thursday. See what type of gameplan they have for the Bungles.

They probably don't need one. I can't believe how awful the Bengals are with a roster loaded with talent. They need to fire Marvin Lewis yesterday.

    Thanks :D

Sanchez has looked *better* which is all I was looking for. He still misses on some passes that he needs to make. But he is lightyears better than last year.

And you are probably right. The Jets are cursed. This is all a set up for the annual heartbreak

Maybe not at all. I just think that you don't get hall of fame franchise players very often and when you have one you let him have a roster spot if he wants one. What backup LB does Miami have that we couldn't have lived without? At the very least he can mentor up and coming players. Our D right now can't catch picks or jump on fumbles to save their lives. Maybe he could have helped them, who knows. But they needed that one roster spot for more Dallas castoffs. They didn't have a problem resigning one of the most fragile QBs in the history of the league. I was against Dan Marino getting run off as well. JT isn't as great a player as Dan but he's probably going to get into the hall of fame. No for the record I don't really think his presence could have made any difference for Miami so far. It's just a respect thing for me. I don't think he's as selfish as the pro Parcells Dolfans want to believe he was.

You make an excellent point. You just wouldn't want him getting any significant playing time. He really is done.

Right. The good thing about him is that he isn't a Joey Porter type. I don't think he would have had a problem spending some time on the bench behind some of the youth. Once again to me it was mostly a respect thing. Bill Parcells wanted to come into town and put Miami's biggest star in his place. I am truly starting to hate Bill Parcells not only for that but for what is becoming of the team. And the fact that he didn't even wait three full years to hit the road.

You're right that Sanchez is hard to sack. However, most of the time he has plenty of time to throw the ball. His WR's get separation and teams have to account for their run game.

Again, the Jests are a very good football team and Sanchez is playing a lot better than I thought he could. (His completion rate is still lacking though) This has a lot to do with his coaching and the players around him. However, he is gaining confidence because of this and isn't afraid to run around back there and sling it around. IMO, if he had been drafted by Miami his play would be much worse than that of Henne and he too would have been benched by now. We have no run game, our WR's make it so a QB has to thread a needle nearly every pass or will just drop the ball when it hits their hands anyway, and our OC is a moron.

You guys have a very good team. And your FO seems to have turned the franchise around.

The safety had a man to work with on the seem I believe. The coverage was a bad call and Jason Allen is a bad player.

Continue to show as if its a chronic ailment? Enlighten me please as you fail to do much with this statement. If they were in 4 deep, he blew his assignment. If they were in zone fair enough, he should have help over the top, but with 45 secs left in the game it is highly unlikely that his zone assignment was to cover the flats. Edwards blew by him and he had no chance to make a play on the ball underneath (with the safety over the top in a 2 deep zone). Your logic towards my assessment is at best idiotic and childish.

Do not panic. You are not alone. It is a chronic ailment of this forum.

You do not know the coverage. You do not even know who was on your TV screen. Worse you didn't even pay attention to WHAT THE ANNOUNCER said during the play. Did you see two safeties on the play? That gives you a hint as to what family of coverages they were playing. This was the lone receiver on this side. If they were not in cover 2, it was bracket. Either way, Eugene Wilson was the fall guy.

But you saw Jason Allen on your screen and you ran with it. You created a thread about it. You created an uninformed, blaspheming thread like it didn't matter whether you were right or wrong. It just mattered that you said something. GREAT!

I'm not childish or idiotic. I'm just the guy that called you out for not knowing what the hell you were talking about. Rather than "man up" and admit something that you did wrong, you cast more stones. Idiotic? Childish? Think about it.

Well the Jets and Patriots winning against certain teams may actually help the Dolphins for the wild card, but really, if the Dolphins are still playing with a 3rd string QB and O-Line then they won't go anywhere, no team can survive that. Put a 3rd string QB on the Patriots and take out some of their starting O-Line and see what happens. And it's also highly unlikely that both teams will collapse.

A dream scenario for me would be a wild card spot with a game against the Chiefs/Raiders/Chargers or 1st place Jaguars[even Colts, they're getting as banged up as us]. BTW, who thought the Jaguars would be in first place on Thanksgiving? And Chiefs, Falcons, Bears you get the picture. Then the Dolphins can hopefully win and hopefully get a rematch with the Steelers! That would be fun. I give it a 2% chance of actually happening.

First and foremost, do not pigeon hole me into a group of other people who may or may not know what they are talking about. Stating that I "continue" to demonstrate that I do not know what I am talking about when you are merely throwing me into a group of other people is, frankly, childish and idiotic.

I do not know the coverage and I am uninformed? Lets examine the tape:

    http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2010112101/2010/REG11/texans@jets#tab:watch
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erctDpSvOro (a second one just for good measure)

At the snap you have four (4) down lineman with Brian Cushing playing MLB in a dime coverage set. Cushing's responsibility in this coverage is the middle of the field or the RB (LT) out of the backfield (if he comes out, which he does on this play). To Cushing's left and right you have four (4) defensive backs in man coverage with their respective WR as the Jets have lined up four (4) wide (two (2) to each side). In a 2 deep alignment you have Bernard Pollard, who famously injured Brady while with the Chiefs, and Eugene Wilson, who famously played and won SBs with the Patriots. The responsibilities of each safety on this play is to cover their half of the field, again, in a 2 deep zone alignment. Jason Allen was burnt while in man coverage and he did not get help over the top from Wilson. Had he stuck to Edwards hip (instead of trailing him for a couple yards), he may have had a chance to make a play on the ball. Both players were to a certain degree at fault: Allen for letting Edwards run by him while in man and Eugene for not covering the deep play or coming over the top in time. Perhaps he viewed the inside receiver as a bigger threat...Lastly, I was not aware Allen was even signed by the Texans until the play was over and he turned around and I do not have the television's volume that high so I did not listen to the commentator. The video is there and I am reiterating what I saw: dime coverage/prevent, which is common in the remaining seconds of a game. They were not in a quarter alignment as Cushing was on the field. I commend you on your attempt to "call me out" on something you think I have no idea about and still respectfully assess your comments as idiotic and childish. Thank you and take care.

"Help" - that is the word used to loosely describe Wilson's assignment. It's not "help". It's an assignment. The assignment is the DEEP HALF of his side of the field.

He aligns two yards inside the numbers. The numbers at the point nearest the center hash are 9 yards from the sideline. So he aligns 11 yards from the sideline.
He is responsible for 26 yards of the field.
He plays deeper than the deepest receiver on his side.
He read the receivers from #2 to #1 on his side. It's a very simple concept. The number #2 receiver on his side will dictate what the #1 on his side can and will do.
He is facing the offensive formation for a purpose. He is aligned deep for a purpose.

The hash marks are 7 yards apart. The #2 receiver on his side is running down the hash mark. The #1 receiver on his side is running two yards off the sideline. Although the route patterns placed pressure on the safety, the amount of field Wilson must cover has been reduced to 20 yards BY the receiver patterns.

This was a 40 yard pass from launching point (their 45) to the catch (own 15). So from Sanchez first look at Edwards, to the long wind up, to a 40 yard pass - Wilson had to run 10 yards BY ASSIGNMENT.

Just about every other pattern on the route tree that Braylon Edwards could possibly had run was the responsibility of Jason Allen. The freakin' safety isn't just back there to "help".

Both of them blew the coverage....Jason should have been on top of the reciever and the Saftey should have been over the top to prevent the pass.

Jason Allen would have caught that pick 6 that hit Sean Smith right in the hands the other week. Would have changed the momentum of that game. But let the **** talking continue. I'm completely fed up with everything Dolphins related right now. Until people get fired, I no longer care.

Total trash play by Allen. Yeah the safety was late but that was just a complete give away. Very frustrating.

I know the Jets have been fortunate but they do have a great defense and I remember the first year the Pats won the SB - they squirreled out an entire series of wins. It's frustrating b/c they and the Pats are both very good teams while Miami is mired in mediocrity.

Jason Allen was jogging...I mean visibly jogging and half-assing his "underneath" responsibility. Was the safety late? Sure he was. But it didn't help that Jason Allen went all "Randy Moss" on his effort to trail Edwards.

In all fairness it looked as if Edwards sucked him in by going to another gear and getting separation. And considering the clock and the fact that the Jets had no timeouts left, I'm surprised Wilson didn't cheat more towards helping to take the boundary away.
